Mysterious inscribed cubes discovered in river
.unexplained-mysteries.com ^ | 05/14/2020

The cubes were tiny - small enough to hold between the finger and thumb - and weighed 125g each.

The symbols on them appeared to be some form of Sanskrit.

Curious to know more, Read posted photographs of his discovery up on social media.

"There were all sorts of stories flying around at first, the cubes really captured people's imaginations," he said. "What I learned is that they are Indian in origin and they show incantations for prayers which take effect when they are thrown in running water."

Exactly how old the cubes are, however, continues to remain a mystery.

Except they were not built by slaves as we think of them - more like willing indentured servants and they were very well treated and cared for.

Tell me exactly how you haul up lead cubes while magnet fishing. Unless they are not lead.

Thanks. The article at the link you posted is the better of the two.

Still unanswered, how do you bring up dice-sized lead cubes when magnet fishing?

Damage? Try the Fallen Leader Table in the Fire and Fury Civil War miniatures rules...

10 - Shot Dead in the saddle
9 - Mortally Wounded
8 - Grevously Wounded (Remove leader from the game)
7 - Mere flesh wound (Remove leader for one turn)
6 - Horse shot out from under (Leader dismounted for one turn)
5 - Coat Pierced but unscathed
4 - Staff officer struck
1,2,3 - Cooly ignores the fire (no effect)

(This is what you get when I listen to the “Gettysburg” Sound Track while working and Freeping...)

Not sure how he picked up pennies as well, they're not magnetic either.

You mean all those movie EPICS about Egypt and the Roman Empire didn't ring true?
You mean Elizabeth Taylor didn't look like Cleopatra?

I am SHOCKED, just shocked....shocked.

Indian in origin? Maybe one of them will tell us at long last what “Kemo Sabe” really means.

Possibility: Gypsies have roots in India, picked up the name “Gypsies” because during the Ottoman Empire they were exiled in Egypt.

The story doesn’t make sense. Lead is not attracted to magnets. I suspect the story is fake.

They were out magnet fishing. He looked down in the water and SAW the items at his feet and picked them up. Same as if he had been trout fishing.

Since lead is non magnetic, I wonder how he found them magnet fishing unless he saw them just lying on the bottom of the river....
