Yesterday I Was Levi’s Brand President. I Quit So I Could Be Free.

When I traveled to Moscow in 1986, I brought 10 pairs of Levi’s 501s in my bag. I was a 17-year-old gymnast, the reigning national champion, and I was going to the Soviet Union to compete in the Goodwill Games, a rogue Olympics-level competition orchestrated by CNN founder Ted Turner while the Soviet Union and the United States were boycotting each other.

Meantime, the Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the company asked that I do an “apology tour.” I was told that the main complaint against me was that “I was not a friend of the Black community at Levi’s.” I was told to say that “I am an imperfect ally.” (I refused.)

I’m a Wranglers man myself

When I was a teenager, Levi’s was the only brand of jeans to wear. And then they tried to gay the Boy Scouts. Everyone I know dumped them and quit wearing Levi’s.

Eh, she’s still a liberal. For all her spunk - and she sure is spunky! - she’s a liberal. *sad face*

Never owned Levi’s. My first pair of jeans were Wrangler, and that has been my brand continuously.

This time, I was called a racist—a strange accusation given that I have two black sons.

This is prima facie evidence that leftist hate is undeterred by reality.

According to the Woke, all white infants are born racist—and something needs to be done about it.

:-(

I also shared my support for Elizabeth Warren in the Democratic primary and my great sadness about the racially instigated murders of Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd.....We were able to secure a spot for him in a dual-language immersion Spanish-English public school like the one he was supposed to be attending in San Francisco.

She's gonna need a much higher dose of "red pill" to have any effect on her chronic wokism.

My wardrobe thirty years ago consisted of Levis and Nikes.

Not anymore.

Wasn’t there a plot once where someone was about to cross sides, but was not welcomed and then turned away to commit suicide?

Seriously, I can’t think of anything more anti-racist than an interracial relationship.

Yep. What white liberals don’t understand is that they are targets too - BECAUSE THEY ARE WHITE. Nothing they say or do will outweigh the inherent evil of their white skin. Not to the largely black racists running the show. And every once in a while, the BLM types need to sacrifice one of their allies just to prove their power.

Check out the ADL’s definition of “institutional racism”:

https://www.adl.org/racism

The only way to eliminate it would be a “final solution” for white people.

Ah...but I did get a new tagline (edited to fit)...

“Tolerance will reach such a level that intelligent people will be banned from thinking so as not to offend the imbeciles.”

Kudos for quitting; but cry me a river.

In the article she expressed her liberal bona fides by asserting how she supported Eliz Warren. Didn’t that give her sufficient cred?

Think again. Liberalism may be great, until it happens to you. Lotta liberal on liberal train wrecks going on these days.

She’s still a hard left libtard and probably voted for Biden and would vote for Warren, Sanders, AOC, or Hillary. Left wing drama queen.

I am now retired, but when I was in the (already woke) workplace I had to heavily self-censor.

That was part of the stress of the place—there were so many people eager to accuse others of “triggering” them.....

It was actually easier to avoid speaking at all.

As I wrote elsewhere, one of the most magnificent contemporary pieces was written by Jeffrey Snyder, A Nation of Cowards. While the piece is overtly about concealed carry, it is much broader than that. To wit:

Is your life worth protecting? If so, whose responsibility is it to protect it? If you believe that it is the police's, not only are you wrong -- since the courts universally rule that they have no legal obligation to do so -- but you face some difficult moral quandaries. How can you rightfully ask another human being to risk his life to protect yours, when you will assume no responsibility yourself?...One who values his life and takes seriously his responsibilities to his family and community will possess and cultivate the means of fighting back...He will never be content to rely solely on others for his safety, or to think he has done all that is possible by being aware of his surroundings and taking measures of avoidance.

What Snyder wrote applies literally to every situation under the sun, not just thieves in the night or bad dudes in an alley but bureaucrats in lab coats and college faculty in sport coats. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.

But for a moment, consider the recently redpilled, or liberals smacked by reality. Do they possess the mindset Snyder references? sThe mildly freedom-curious lot will give up; They'll cave.

For the remnants, not only do they need the will to persevere through this conversion process, but in many ways they need a robust pro-liberty mindset that is exercised often.

As the meme goes, one does not simply become Deplorable over night. Sure, it's easy to see the immorality of what's going on. It's also easy to say, for example, "no, I'm not getting vaxxed." But, as difficult as it may be for people who've had a Framer's mindset all their life, noobs don't just follow up that new attitude with the ninja-like thought process and access to information to facilitate a successful redpilling in an instant. That process takes some time.

Yes, there ARE many people - backed by friends with Snyder's mindset that's exercised often - who climbed through the muck and mire of the conversion process successfully.

"Question Authority" has morphed into "Obey Authority".

For those noobs who haven't yet built a Snyder mind, we need to bring them into the fold. Liberty grows when the field of participants expands, not by shrinking ourselves to glory.

The silver lining in all this, is that this incredible opposition thrown up by the statists to someone like the author, it really reveals how scared they are of us.

This is a win. This woman was a die-hard Leftist who sees the truth after having spent decades and millions of korporate dollars pushing Leftists agendas on others.
