The global warming fraud revealed in one graph
American Thinker ^ | 07/12/2022 | Thomas Lifson

Posted on 07/12/2022 9:41:09 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Two highly distinguished emeritus professors — William Happer, Professor of Physics, Emeritus of Princeton and Richard Lindzen, Professor of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences, Emeritus of MIT — have called out the corruption of science in the global warming/climate change fraud.

Their emeritus status is vital in giving them the freedom to speak frankly, because they are not dependent on a continuing flow of research grants to fund their work. Ever since the alarm was raised that global warming was an existential threat, billions of dollars a year has flowed to scientists willing to support the alarmist position, and thereby keep the money flowing. Were the threat to be acknowledged to be illusory, that money flow would stop and there would be a lot of unemployed climate scientists.

They recently filed a 28-page statement with the SEC, which is contemplating a proposed rule, "The Enhancement and Standardization of Climate-Related Disclosures for Investors," laying out the reasons why the warmist alarm is unjustified.  Chris Morrison summarizes:

Two top-level American atmospheric scientists have dismissed the peer review system of current climate science literature as "a joke". According to Emeritus Professors William Happer and Richard Lindzen, "it is pal review, not peer review". The two men have had long distinguished careers in physics and atmospheric science. "Climate science is awash with manipulated data, which provides no reliable scientific evidence," they state.

No reliable scientific evidence can be provided either by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), they say, which is "government-controlled and only issues government dictated findings". The two academics draw attention to an IPCC rule that states all summaries for policymakers are approved by governments. In their opinion, these summaries are "merely government opinions".

For a really quick understanding of the depth of the fraud, take a look at this graph put together by John Christy of the University of Alabama, Huntsville that they cite comparing the predicted temperatures of the global warming models with the actual temperature record:

Note that since the actual temperature record shown on the graph continued, temperatures leveled off in subsequent years.

The SEC now manages global warming reporting for public companies

The FDA is involved in national rent-control and rented apartment evictions

The US Dept. of Defense provides abortions and transgender surgery for those in its bureaucracy

Fed.gov is a bloated monster, fed by massive debt and printed money.

Long ago, the Delusional Lying Left changed their deception from unsupportable "Global Warming" to "Climate Change" (AKA "the weather").

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

Notice that there is only one really accurate ‘model’ (light grey dotted line in the lower right corner)

It almost exactly matches the real data.

In the 70s and 80s I worked with a man who had grown up on a farm. At that period of time it had been brutal summers for a couple of years. While everyone was screaming about the current disaster-of-the-day-and-we-are-all-going-to-die, he said that the climate was going through a 40-year cycle. After a couple of years things got back to ‘normal.’ Strangely enough, that was 40 years ago. Here we go again! ;-)

There is also Esper et al (2012, 2014) which shows current temperatures, while warming, easily remains within the range of "normal" when viewed against a mean established from a 2,000 year timeline. Roman and Medieval periods were as warm or warmer than recent temperatures.

This morning, the Atlanta newspaper published a piece saying that this year has been exceptionally hot, almost 2 degrees over the last few years and among the hottest ever. They went on to say that Atlanta recorded a high of 99 degrees on June 15th. (I’m paraphrasing from memory)

99 was a record high for the date, but the big untold story is the nighttime temperatures. Since June 1st night time lows have been mostly about 70, and a few nights recently it only dropped to 75.

This of course raises the average temperature, seems to me to be the source of the +2 degree gain. But that is not part of the climate change narrative, so it is not mentioned. Warmer nights are not scary.

The actual temperature record ends at 2016. Where is the actual record for the last six years? Also, there appears to be a predicted temperature series that tracks the actual temperatures well. Which one it is?

Warmer nights are all Urban Heat Island.

Take away UHI and there has been no warming in the US.

One small example, DFW airport, where the official DFW temps are taken, was a farm field 50 years ago, and the ALL TIME HIGH was in 1980.

Now it’s surrounded by concrete and sprinklered lawns for a 60 mile radius, which traps the nightime heat. Nightime temps 50 miles outside DFW are 7-10 degrees cooler.

...Happer isn’t a climate scientist, so what he says doesn’t have much to do with it. Lindzen is, so his views carry some weight... but how much?

Personally, I can’t imagine getting to the point where I’m comfortable claiming the earth’s temperature is this or that, much less that I’ve established a baseline against which to chart and compare changes. The earth is a big place; its atmosphere has a lot of different temperatures.

What scientists REALLY need is a standard way of measuring epistemology. If we could standardize THAT we’d have something worth looking at...

“Communists are very good at solving imaginary problems, real ones, not so much.”

Well said. It boggles my mind how many of the ‘educated’ on the other side believe in this tripe, lock , stock and barrel.

Talking about this topic with my PhD friend from The Ohio State University, and simple common sense statements questioning the veracity of claims made in these studies, movies like “An Inconvenient Truth”, myriad predictions made that never come to pass, or simply pointing out characteristics of the oxygen cycle or photosynthesis that run counter to the Global Warming/Climate Change narratives, serves to bring this person to an absolute state of apoplexy.

It literally turns a conversation into a confrontation; “Dude, the science is settled.” or “You cannot be that obtuse.” or “I understand photosynthesis, don’t patronize me.”

I love these conversations, but am floored at how immovable the other side has become on the matter, despite the endless facts to the contrary.

I am fairly certain the climate is warming just as it has many times before, for example, in the run-up to the Medieval Warm Period. It's been warming slowly ever since the nadir of the Little Ice Age around 1715, which is to say before any significant impact of human produced CO2.

This means it is likely to be be a longer term problem than the fictional CO2 horror show, but also that there is less we can do to address it. Meanwhile we will waste trillions of dollars in sunk costs and reduced growth chasing the CO2 wild goose instead of realistically estimating the timescale and effects of natural climate change.

It almost exactly matches the real data.

Actually no it doesn't, the "real" data presented in the graph has been fraudulently adjusted so many times it's as fake as the models.

Any data set that doesn't have 1998 as a top warm year is a fraud

The real horror show is those anthropomorphic climate change NAZIs who believe we need to kill 7.5 billion humans to stabilize the CO2 balance, as suggested on the NWO Georgia Guide Stones.
