Voters in Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania question the former secretary of state’s trustworthiness and honesty, according to a new Quinnipiac University survey taken after the controversy surrounding Clinton’s use of a private email server for government communications. Her favorability ratings are down in all three states.
Pennsylvania, a key state that has been elusive for Republicans recently, could be competitive this cycle, with Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul narrowly topping Clinton, 45 percent-44 percent. Clinton beats Bush by six percentage points, Walker by five and Rubio by four in the Keystone State.

The solid Red states like TX, MS, AL, ID etc will be in the GOP column. No need to even spend campaign cash there. The swing states like FL, OH & PA are all that really matters in who will sit in WH in 2016.

Diversion is a time proven successful tactic.
However IMHO, social issues have caused defeats of really good conservatives. I can name a dozen in the last 2 election cycles, who lost elections due to social issues.
The best method is to work through SCOTUS appointments. Whoever Obummer or Hilda appoints to SCOTUS will never be any good for social conservatives for next 30 years. Fortunately, every one of the leading GOP candidates for 2016 are better than the democrat alternative.
PA is what I call a fickle red state. We have a republican legislature, and used to have a republican governor. (Corbett should have had a second term, but he lost to Wolf and it had little to do with political ideology.) The majority of US house members from PA are also republican. The two US senate seats are split. Real conservative candidates will get out the vote in PA and win. Half-baked, limp-wristed RINOs will not get out the vote.
What cause Rick Santorum’s defeat in his senatorial bid in PA? I do not remember the numbers, but his lost by a big margin. I always thought of him as a solid social conservative.

The two things that I recall were that he campaigned with Bush and he endorsed Arlen Specter over Arlen (sic) Toomey (who ran as a conservative and has since revealed that he has no comprehension of the 2a). In general, Santorum had a case of foot-in-mouth disease and would have done fine if he kept his mouth shut and ran on his record. Bush was very unpopular at the time - in PA and nationally. It doesn't make good political sense to tie yourself to an unpopular president - even RATs know that.
I hope Hillary gets the Democrat nomination.
Hillary was a crappy candidate back in 2008 and she has not improved at all with age. I think either Cruz or Walker can easily take her and probably generate enough enthusiasm for the Republicans to hold onto the Senate in 2016 (most of the seats up for election in 2016 are held by Republicans, the opposite of 2014).
Of course, if Jeb Bush gets the Republican nomination, then it really doesn’t matter which one gets elected.
The Black Panthers were walking around a number of polling stations in Pennsylvania (not just Phillie) in the last few elections, each carrying a club in their right hands, while slapping it repeatedly into their left palms.
Not like that is threatening or anything.
Also, Santorum’s opponent was Bob Casey, whose father of the same name was a very popular Democrat Governor.
Casey’s campaign, seemingly by design, misled legions of old and senile voters into thinking that he WAS his dead father. Certainly he did absolutely nothing to try and disabuse anybody of that notion.
He also campaigned as being a Traditional Family Values Democrat who was pro-life among other things. Despite the fact that so far as I can tell he has never failed to vote pro-queer or pro-abortion.
Then the teachers unions and the media cooked up a big kerfluffle over the fact that, like any young father, Santorum had his family spending most of their time with him in the DC area, yet his kids attended a cyber charter school that was being paid for by their school district back in Western PA. This was presented by the slimeball media as something so odious and dishonest, you’d think Rick had actually been out there robbing banks in his spare time.
Lastly, Casey’s populist rant that “all the money that could be used to fix your roads and increase your benefits is getting poured down a rathole in Iraq by George W. Bush” did seem sadly to resonate with a lot of voters.

You have a point about Bob Casey, Jr. Pro-life is a winning stance in PA. However, if I recall correctly, Bob Casey, Jr. was silent on the issue while campaigning. Bob Casey, Sr. was very pro-life and was abused by fellow RATs because he didn't follow their agenda. I think people assumed that Bob Casey, Jr. was also pro-life because his father was.
If Republicans can run a decent candidate against Casey, Jr. he would get his butt kicked.
The root of PA's Republican problems falls squarely Rob Gleason, PA GOP Chairman. He is a spineless RINO, but has tons of political power. Sometimes I think he works for the DNC. Just remember, all politics in PA are corrupt.
