Welcome to the Canteen Music Dedication. Each week we bring our troops, their families, and friends a variety of music. We appreciate any and all feedback. If you have any music requests, please FReepmail, email, or post on the thread any requests. We will try to accommodate as many as possible. We hope you like the new layout of the Canteen Music Dedication. We try to provide a variety of songs for everyone to listen to. If you aren't sure about an artist, please avoid clicking the album cover. We try to give you as many musical choices as possible. There are some songs that are highly offensive. If you choose to click on them and are offended, please keep in mind that we have already warned you. So? Please choose carefully. Thank You! |
CURRENT MUSIC (Includes Rap, Alternative, and Radio Playlist songs!) |
MUSIC "DID YOU KNOW" |
*Guster band mates met at Tufts University in 1992. Hello Nerds! *Uncle Kracker was Kid Rock's DJ. Detroit In The House! *Blu Cantrell recently met Victoria Beckham, Posh Spice, and thought she was "very rude". Welcome to the club, Blu! *Mary J. Blige hit the scene as a teenager. She had a smash debut record, but was very depressed and miserable. *Nelly is a huge Mama's boy. You can insult anyone, but not his mama. *Monica grew up singing in church. *Britney Spears says "Louisiana has some of the nicest folks in the world". Don't you feel better knowing that? |
|
ALL ABOUT COUNTRY MUSIC |
MUSIC "DID YOU KNOW" |
*Wynonna Judd's little sister is actress Ashley Judd who at one time dated Michael Bolton after Wynonna did a duet with him. *Vince Gill was once married to Janis Oliver of the group Sweethearts of The Rodeo. He is currently married to Christian singer, Amy Grant. *Waylon Jennings first non-country concert that he attended was Nine Inch Nails with his son, Shooter. *One member of Rascal Flatts wrote Chely Wright's song "Jezebel" which became a country hit. *Martina McBride does not schedule concerts or any events that conflict with her families special events. Good for her! |
|
BETH'S MUSIC MIX (music selection) |
Just A Thought Bethy does a fabulous job with the music. While I've told her that I don't understand a word any of these "artists" are saying or singing, I just assume that this section isn't for old folks like me. So? If you don't like to have your eardrums destroyed, please move past this section and return to country or elsewhere. Oh! Did I mention you won't get much relief from the "Current Music" section. My other kid, MoJo, doesn't seem to listen to dear ol' Ma about music selections. Kids these days! |
Check back next week for a full list from DJ Beth. Please send any request's to texasbg@texasbg.com Enjoy your Saturday!!! WooHooo! |
MUSIC MIX (contains a variety of music) |

The Fisher House program is a unique private-public partnership that supports America's military in their time of need by providing homes close to a loved one during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury. There are currently 31 houses located on the grounds of every major military medical center and several VA medical centers. These houses will play a critical role in caring for casualties from Operation Iraqi Freedom. Donations will be used to help meet the cost of lodging for a family whose loved one was injured in Operation Enduring Freedom or Operation Iraqi Freedom. There is a limit to the number of families who can stay in a Fisher House and program is committed to help provide lodging for families who must find commercial lodging, because the Fisher House is full. |
|
You think you're hot? Our military forces in Iraq sweat it out in 130 degree heat everyday! |
|
Cool Our Troops is a non-profit effort to 'Cool' our troops in Iraq. They are raising funds to send personal misters to 50,000 military personnel serving in Iraq. The misters are portable, no batteries or electricity required, and rely on evaporation to cool surrounding temperatures by 20-30 degrees. |

A PRAYER OF PROTECTION
The light of God surround you The love of God enfold you The power of God protect you The presence of God watch over you Wherever you are,God is, And all is well. Amen.
Bless This House
Bless this house O Lord we pray;
Make it safe by night and day;
Bless these walls so firm and stout,
Keeping want and trouble out:
Bless the roof and chimneys tall,
Let thy peace lie over all;
Bless this door, that it may prove
ever open to joy and love.
Bless these windows shining bright,
Letting in God's heav'nly light;
Bless the hearth a'blazing there,
with smoke ascending like a prayer;
Bless the folk who dwell within,
keep them pure and free from sin;
Bless us all that we may be
Fit O Lord to dwell with thee;
Bless us all that one day we
May dwell O Lord with thee.
