At about 10:50 a.m., Diana Campos, an employee of a nearby hospital, saw a pregnant woman walking a golden retriever with two men along a path in the park, Owen said. Campos described the woman as 6-to-7 months pregnant with straight, shoulder-length hair, and the men as extremely dirty.Guess that would enter Dirty and Skeeter? I would say "heh heh", but it's not funny.

What?!??
Please forgive this (I don't have time to read all the threads here or all the news elsewhere), but what is this about "Laci Peterson's body was clad in tan maternity pants and a 12- to 18-inch- long piece of duct tape was 'attached to the groin area'"?
We have read that Connor also had duct tape on his body.
Now, we also read that Geragos is claiming, or seems to be trying to claim, that Connor was born before Laci was killed: "Attorney Mark Geragos used words such as "full-term infant" and "speculation that the baby was 38 to 39 weeks old" while questioning Modesto police Detective Phil Owen, who attended two autopsies on the remains of Laci Peterson."
Is there no speculation, therefore, that perhaps Laci went into labor at home the night of December 23 (or the morning of December 24), and that the situation developed from there? How is anyone accounting, or trying to account, for the TAPE on both bodies? Tape in Laci's "groin area"? As though the murderer were trying to do what? Is this issue not part of anyone's speculation and reasoning? Or have I just missed it?

Thanks, Mags, as always. What I don't understand is this excerpt:
Legal experts believe there's only a remote chance the judge will allow the defense's subpoena to go through.
Why not? Prosecution was allowed to bring in Amber's testimony via Brocchini. Just seems to a layperson like me that MG could subpoena her. Get it over with. Everybody is champing at the bits to hear it.

------
Karen S. found McKenzie an 10:18 a.m. She appears to have a well established time line.

1 Q. And it's a kind of a Golden Retriever dog?
2 A. It is a Golden Retriever, yes.
3 Q. Do you remember -- do you know what the dog's name
4 is?
5 A. McKenzie.
6 Q. Did you find McKenzie on December 24th of 2002
7 somewhere in the vicinity of 523 Covena?
8 A. Yes.
9 Q. And can you describe for the Court what happened?
10 Just start from the beginning. What time of the day was it?
11 A. It was approximately 10:18 that I found the dog.
(snip)
24 Q. When you found the dog, you told us that it was
25 10:18?
26 A. Correct.
27 Q. How is it that you are sure of that particular
28 time?
1229
1 A. I retraced my steps that morning to come up with
2 that time and backed it up from the time on the receipt and
3 the time I made the cell phone call.
4 Q. Okay. What time is on the receipt when you made
5 the purchase?
6 A. 10:34 AM.

Geragos has come up with all the "usual suspects" except for the traditional "shaggy haired stranger." I suppose that one will be up next...
To: Sandylapper
ROFL. I think Diana Campos saw "Dirty" and his other brother "Dirtier"..

Holy mackeral, Geragos has flipped his wig!
To: Velveeta
That's right, Vel! LOL!
Honestly, I'm beginning to wonder if that particular area of Modesto is always saturated with pregnant, dark-haired women walking Golden Retrievers.
To: maggiefluffs
So, we're talking about an approximate time difference of 32 minutes in the two women's account of things. I missed something about where her receipts are coming from, and when she did the retracing of her steps. And it concerns me that the bloodhound traced/tracked Laci to/through certain areas of the park. What do we do about the dog? I thought prosecution wanted to use them?
To: exlibris
"Laci Peterson's body was clad in tan maternity pants and a 12- to 18-inch- long piece of duct tape was 'attached to the groin area'"?Yep, it's true. Scott said he last saw her in a white top and black pants..barefoot, pregnant and mopping the kitchen floor. But, voila! Laci washes up in the clothes she wore the NIGHT BEFORE she was reported missing.
We have read that Connor also had duct tape on his body
I've read that Connor had some type of "debris" tape around his neck, not duct tape.
Geragos is claiming, or seems to be trying to claim, that Connor was born before Laci was killed
Geragos is grasping at straws.
Don't get hung up on the tape on Connor. Most reports state that it was likely debris. The duct tape tighlty affixed to Laci's crotch area however, was NOT debris!

Heh heh. He'll be too original to do that!
To: Sandylapper
I thought the dogs did not track her to the park?

I momentarily forgot about "Dirtier". That's right! Their mother had no imagination!
To: bonfire
The tape on Conner was described as a "thin circle of plastic tape".
