New Evidence of Moose-Cheese Nexus
compilation | 021404 | dep

Posted on 02/14/2004 6:46:32 PM PST by dep

Longtime Freepers are aware of the odd but diabolical relationship between cheese and moose. Likewise, we know of the chilling admonition, "all your base are belong to us." Now, through the power of the World Wide Web, further evidence supporting the connection between these seemingly disparate objects and phenomena has been established. Additionally, there is now a vague but apparently real connection with a popular restaurant chain which serves toasted submarine sandwiches.

But you need not take my word for it. If you have the flash player installed, you will find proof of the cheese-moose-sandwich connection here. If this were not alarming enough, the moose-"all our base are belong to us" connection is firmly established here. (WARNING: Contains images, including one of Al Gore, which may be objectionable to some and unfit for younger viewers.)

I rest my case.

The Trachtenburg family Slideshow Players collect slides at garage sales and write songs about other family's collections. Neither the collections nor the songs make any sense, but together they are fun.

they arevery low tech. they tour with a slide projector and their instruments. I have to assume their child is home-schooled.

I can just see it now.

"We like Kerry,
'cause he looks like a moose.
We like KERRY!
Almost as much as we like cheese.
Or maybe pizza or ketchup.
He really is a very special guy.
We like Kerry!
Not in the way Teresa does.
But maybe if he asked real nice.
And promised us some flowers afterwards."

i'll go see 'em when they come to newtown, ct.

actually, i'd go to danbury or even mount kisco for 'em.

hell, i'd probably spring for a dvd if they put one out. what they're doing is really imaginative, sort of talking heads meet the cowsills. (and with that i really date myself. which is okay -- it's valentine's day and it would be sad if i weren't dating somebody!)

They do have a CD,which I have. It has two quicktime videos on it.

WARNINGWARNINGWARNING

They have lib antiwar tendencies. This reflects the audiences they have to play to. Wish it weren't so, but it is. They do not make rude political comments though.

alas. we do need on our side need to impart the fact that we're not uncool, to dispel the common misconception. fortunately, following generations are tending toward conservatism. not so much the immediate post-baby-boomers, who are conservative largely in the money-grubbing sense from my experience, but their kids. i have a niece and nephew who would no more do drugs or follow liberal pied pipers than sprout feathers. they have too much self-respect for that. so when the pendulum swings back, it will be with a very big push. john kerry is 60. the hippies are getting old, and the post-hippies are simply losers.

When I was young, we used to mow a hayfield of alfalfa. Occasionally, we would run the mower across nests of infant rabbits. What the mower did to them was the stuff of nightmares.

The rodents in these commercials remind me of the rabbits we hit with the mower.

That is one of the most disturbing ads I've ever seen. At first I thought it was some sort of MAD TV tasteless parody.

It actually made me want to never go to a Quiznos again.

Actually, that man suckling a wolf ad almost put me off on Quizno's forever, but I do like their sandwiches.

I had to do a bit of Internet research, but these particular grotesque "things" are called Spongmonkeys. I'm still trying to find out what sick, twisted mind created them!

Quiznos has had a string of tasteless commercials recently.

The one that comes to mind shows a grown man suckling at the teat of a wolf.

I wrote to complain and got a snotty response. No more Quiznos for me.

"...i have a directory containing, to the best of my knowledge, all of the internet tourist guy pictures. i wish i knew of someone who wanted to do a production with them in flash or some such, because i think it is worth it. i've always imagined "the mighty quinn" running under it, but i bet somebody could come up with something much better..."

Howsabout just cramming them all onto your empty FReepage profile page. Somebody will do something with them( I steal everything from everybody ).

Great post, BTW............FRegards
