During a Monday program in DC televised on C-SPAN, Mark Walsh stated that 'Freepers', patrons of the right-wing website FreeRepublic.com, committed DNS attacks against Air America's website in order to disrupt their operations.

And it would seem to me, that since FR went down not to long ago precisely because someone filed a complaint with FR's internet registrar about an invalid phone number in their whois listing, FR is actually the one who was subject to a DNS attack (if that's what you want to call it).
Anyone trying to find the site by going to www.freerepublic.com would not get there. I have no reason to believe it wasn't someone from the leftist camp who reported the invalid phone number and shut down FR's DNS service for two days.

Well, if he wants alot of hits to their website, making a public announcement such as this should do it.
Since when did they have any problems with their website?
Holey crap!?! I'm looking at their website, and what on earth is up with these pictures? Gagarofalo dyed her hair blond...it's as if the photographer said, "ok, gimme your best stupid face!".

Who is Mark Walsh? Some self important Clymer?
Most of us who went to his site did so out of curiosity, to hear the show on the first day. Any problems later on can be blamed on his paying big bucks for amateurs. It's not our fault that he went small time with the servers. Or did he actually think nobody would tune in? Of course he probably went big time on price he paid, or at least that's what he's telling his investors.

there have been some problems reaching MANY web sites over the last three weeks because of "Core Router" issues that have seemed to have been resolved...maybe that's what happened. What a wretch! FReepers son't have that much time on their hands (working, ya know...).

As the founder of my law school's Federalist Society chapter a decade and-a-half ago, it's disheartening to see some of the few remaining vessels of enlightened debate become marginalized by media elites.
Some may think this charge is not worthy of defense, considering the source, but you should have it reviewed by a friendly lawyer whom you would consider engaging to pursue the matter. I think it was made in a very broad and indefensible manner, but I'm no specialist and this is not a legal opinion.
Just a tip. I've already done my pro bono this year.

No, he means DNS, which is a different kind of attack. DNS attack uses a "friendly" IP address to fool firewalled machines into allowing a network connection (to put it very simply). DNS attacks can be launched like DOS attacks in the sense you use an unwitting accomplice with a compromised machine.
