The only problem with this idiot’s reasoning is that Bush never tried to blame Sadam for 911, and certainly never used that as a reason for invading Iraq.

Are all foreign journalists so effing dumb?

Exactly.

The only thing the Bush admin. has done is say that this is a war on terror and that Iraq supported terrorists including AQ.

We know Saddam worked with the PLO and other terrorists, he funded them. He at LEAST knew that 9/11 was coming.

Less than two months before 9/11/01, the state-controlled Iraqi newspaper “Al-Nasiriya” carried a column headlined, “American, an Obsession called Osama Bin Ladin.” (July 21, 2001)

In the piece, Baath Party writer Naeem Abd Muhalhal predicted that bin Laden would attack the US “with the seriousness of the Bedouin of the desert about the way he will try to bomb the Pentagon after he destroys the White House.”

The same state-approved column also insisted that bin Laden “will strike America on the arm that is already hurting,” and that the US “will curse the memory of Frank Sinatra every time he hears his songs” – an apparent reference to the Sinatra classic, “New York, New York”.

Are all foreign journalists so effing dumb?

They're not dumb. They are deliberately misleading. Look at all the times you've heard that the lack of WMDs in Iraq falsifies the claim by Bush that the threat from Saddam was imminent - despite the fact that Bush never made that claim.

The left will lie, and lie repeatedly, and come up with new lies every week, leaving it for us to hunt down each individual use of that lie and refute it. It's an extremely tiresome process, and the left hopes that all us part-time amateur truth-seekers will tire of the hunt and leave the field to them.

The Dems so desperate that they are now saying GWB said Saddam and Osama worked together. The Administration never said that. The Administration (and most people with 2 or more brain cells) realize Saddam 'supported' Osama's efforts by providing money, training, etc. No one ever said that Saddam held the dynamite while Osama lit the fuse. Geezzzz.

Americans were confronted yesterday with the unabridged horror of Osama bin Laden's original plans for September 11, and witnessed a devastating assault on the credibility of the White House campaign to justify war in Iraq by linking Saddam Hussein to al-Qaeda and the attacks in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.

I wish one journalist would actually try to prove that the Bush has linked Saddam to 9-11 instead of just assuming that is the case. I would just like to see ONE quote of Bush saying Saddam is responsible for 9-11. Certainly there must be ONE quote somewhere....

Exactly! I thought I had missed a news conference somewhere along the line since 9/11...LOL
The only ones I have heard even mention any connection of Hussein and 9/11 have been the liberals and the media??? Unfortunately for the media, the vast majority of Americans know how to R E A D and they are not just reading the liberal press and/or watching the liberal news on television ! LOL

Not dumb, just anti-Bush. They know the truth, they think we're too dumb too notice that they're lying. And it's not just the foreign press, most of the US media is pushing the same lie.

then there's this gem from the 9/11 Commission:

He had requested space in Iraq for training camps and sought assistance in procuring weapons, but these efforts "do not appear to have resulted in a collaborative relationship".

Training camps? What do you call SALMAN PAK?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Exactly right, but 90% of the sheeple have drunk the KoolAid and believe that the WH made a direct link between 9/11 and Saddam. The WH has to do something to reverse this perception. W needs to go past the press, directly to the voters, just like Reagan used to do.

This is just Liberal Propaganda trying to influence readers to their bias. The funny part about Liberal Propagandist Media is they don't realize that this is going to backfire. Numerous administrations have used the media, knowing they will pump out the propaganda, then the administration produces the "trump card" showing the people the liberal media's lies and bias. It's called "Media Baiting". The media propagandist here had better watch out for they've probably already been baited.

Just as in WW II, we are pretty on our own in this war with Great Britain. Every other country has either capitulated, joined the Axis or are just too weak to meet the challenge. We have to suck it up and accept that, then deal with the problem, regardless of PR niceties.

Tell a lie often enough - especially one that fits an agenda - and it gains the force of truth. It isn't just the domestic media who are attempting to sway the election, it's the world media, and if you're a Republican president in the U.S. that comes with the territory. The words "Fourth Estate" never had greater truth to them.

i hope that all of these people, papers and TV personalities keep up the drum beat of how Saddam was not part of 911. It keeps terror in the news, kills Kerry's economic tour and makes President Bush look stronger. The internal numbers just get better with each terror report.

I espeically like the part where they planned to go in the spring, that proves that GWB could not have stopped it and that Klinton let this go under the radar too long.

Darned straight they are. They have a double reason to make disrespectful noises at George W. Bush. He represents the US (which they hate already), and Bush is hated within America by a very vocal minority that does not like what America stands for. Besides, they do not stand in line for either reward or punishment for what they say about George Bush.

Did Saddam fund or participate in the 9/11 attack? No. Did he know about the plan beforehand? Probably only in a general manner, but he was not privy to details. Did Saddam try in any way to talk Osama out of the planned strike? Highly doubtful, and for sure, he did not betray what he knew to any intermediaries that might have passed it on to the US authorities.

What they assume, I think, is that WE are that dumb. They assume that NOBODY remembers ANYTHING the President said at the outset of all this.

And I must say, they have two terms of Bill Clinton, and his high approval ratings, in favor of their assumption.

If Bush said, "I don't drink coffee," the press would report that he drinks coffee because he used the word "coffee." That is the logic they use when claiming that Bush said Iraq helped plan 9/11
