GA Patton PHOTO

Major General George S. Patton, the son and namesake of the World War II armored commander was a veteran of combat in the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

He was wounded in one of his three Vietnam tours and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was twice awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, the second-highest decoration for bravery in combat.

General Patton charged that he had experienced proof in the field that John F. Kerry's anti-war actions had given aid and comfort to the enemy, just as had those of Ramsey Clark and Jane Fonda.

Mr. Kerry, said George Patton, probably caused some of my guys to get killed. And I don t like that. There is no soap ever invented that can wash that blood off his hands.

Yes, and other than leading troops in combat, i think the high point of his career was when he and manfred rommel place a tree in the peace park in Stuttgart.

Just a side note.

The patton family complex people, much as the Abram's family

In his full abilities, he was forthright, candid and caring," she said.

Although Patton followed in his father's footsteps, seeing his own combat duty in Korea and Vietnam, relatives say he was his own man.

"Although he was very proud of his father, he was also very, very sensitive to comparisons and always asked that any reference to his lineage be dropped from any reports written about him," said Patton's son, Robert, of Darien, Connecticut.

A 1946 West Point graduate, Patton came from a long line of Georges, including his great-grandfather, a Confederate soldier, his grandfather, a lawyer, and his father, who led U.S. troops in Africa and Europe during World War II.

Major General George S. Patton was born George IV, but he legally changed his name by dropping the Roman numeral.

Patton and his father both commanded the Second Armored Division -- the younger taking command at Fort Hood, Texas, in 1975.

The younger Patton was wounded during the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart.

Relatives said he had an easy manner, which made him approachable for his soldiers.

"His personality was very informal and very comfortable," Robert Patton said.

Even after Patton's retirement in 1980, he remained active, founding Green Meadows Farm in Hamilton, where he named the fields after Vietnam soldiers who died under his command. The farm grows a variety of produce, including blueberries and strawberries.

Joanne Patton said husband also enjoyed sailing, traveling and played "a wicked country guitar."

But his nation always came first.

"He used to say 'if (the military) would take 75-year-olds in uniform, I would go,"' she said.

"Kerry's actions definitely contributed to 2+mln dead in Cambodia'

I pray he doesn't get the chance to create a similar disaster for America!

Patton's friend, Lt. Gen. Charley Brown, told the story of a ragtag National Guard tank convoy that had stopped to buy cold cider at the Patton stand and returned to headquarters that evening to report an encounter with a crazy old farmer who chewed them out for the shabby state of their equipment, their dress, and their demeanor. "And get this," a National Guard private confided to the colonel in charge of the armory, "the crazy old son of a bitch thought he was Gen. George S. Patton."

Wouldn't you have loved to have seen the Private's face when he found out that the "crazy old SOB" *was* General George S. Patton? :) .

And for reference, here is the article you posted, which quotes Patton.

"Retired Maj. Gen. George S. Patton III, who had commanded combat troops in Vietnam, said that, medals or no medals, by the nature of his wartime protests Kerry gave "aid and comfort to the enemy" in the style of Ramsey Clark and Jane Fonda. "Mr. Kerry probably caused some of my guys to get killed," Patton said, even as he self-deprecatingly acknowledged shortcomings of his own as a commander. "And I don't like that. There is no soap ever invented that can wash that blood off his hands."

Responding to controversy over his remarks, Patton wrote in the Worcester Evening Gazette, "The dissent against our efforts in that unhappy war, as exemplified by Mr. Kerry, and of course others, made the soldier's duties even more difficult. ... These incidents caused our opponent, already highly motivated, to fight harder against us and our Vietnamese allies. Hence the comment made by me which included the provision of 'aid and comfort to the enemy' by Mr. Kerry."

This is a section from the link QQQQQ posted above:

I have said it here before many times and I will keep repeating it and you should to everyone that you know and love:

John F. Kerry is a threat to our national security, our national sovereignty (think UN), the freedoms we enjoy, the military advantage we enjoy, our pocket books and the actual existence of this Republic as she now stands. John F. Kerry will send this nation down the drain to hell. He will turn over powers that this county has as a nation's right to his socialist pals in the UN, he will dismantle the military, he will tax, tax, tax to pay the sit on their butts and destroy our domestic economy.

We have to keep preaching the word. We have few. They have many. Our few has to show up at the polls to out vote their attempts to steal the election. The socialists are going to try anything and everything to do just that. They know they can not win fairly, so that only leaves them the cheating route to get what they want. The Carville's of this planet will not stop short of anything to accomplish their socialist goals.
