Matt,
The claims that the Kerry campaign and liberal media have been making concerning that the Swift Boat Vets did not serve on his boat and were not close enough to it to know what was going on can be refuted with two pieces of information provided by John Kerry himself!
Item 1: Kerry's own film that has run all over the place shows these boats close together. Because he knew the best way to show what was going on on his boat was from one of the other boats in the patrol, he had the films taken from another boat of him traveling around. Because they traveled close together, the film shows just how close they were.
Item 2: Is taken from the following text, link to article at end of the text. This is taken from, Humane USA Presidential, 2004, Candidate Questionnaire
deck. I think he provided all of us with a link to home and a few moments of peace and tranquility during a dangerous time. One day as our swiftboat was heading up a river, a mine exploded hard under our boat. After picking ourselves up, we discovered VC was MIA. Several minutes of frantic search followed after which we thought we'd lost him. We were relieved when another boat called asking if we were missing a dog. It turns out VC was catapulted from the deck of our boat and landed confused, but unhurt, on the deck of another boat in our patrolDo you have any pets that have made an impact on you personally? I have always had pets in my life and there are a few that I remember very fondly. When I was serving on a swiftboat in Vietnam, my crewmates and I had a dog we called VC. We all took care of him, and he stayed with us and loved riding on the swiftboat deck. Analysis: This story as told by John Kerry sinks the claim that if the Swift Boat Vets were not on his boat they did not serve with him and could not have seen what was happening on his boat. Because there is no way a dog could be thrown 100+ feet, or 200 feet and survive landing on the deck of another boat, or 50 feet for that matter. So the only conclusion that can be reached is that the boats traved very close together for added protection.

Thank you,

I think Kerry might have made up that story about the dog...
It wasn't a dog. It was a cat. ;-)
And the cats name was... Christmas of 68.
Muahahahahahhahaha! Okay, just kidding.
There's a mine exploding under Kerry's hand-picked SwiftVet storytellers, and Kerry's campaign is being blown 100ft into the arms of the Swiftees who say he's a liar and a fraud.
LOL....I bet Matt (and about a couple of hundred other news orgs/pundits) know when they are FReeped.
I have personally though seen news break in the middle of the night and freepers start pinging Matt to post it and sure enuff in a few minutes, there it is.
Usully but not always someone is paying attention at Matt's.
Nothing gets past this forum for over a few seconds...never.
It was a Hamster!
Ping
Look it is the rare Cambodian Christmas Hamster, Moi al Kerri. It appeared only once in Cambodia on Christmas in 1968 while on a secret CIA mission.
Case in point about Nam, I think dogs are "in the food chain".
But we need our vets here to verify.
"Nothing gets past this forum for over a few seconds...never."
Did you hear Rush yesterday when he was discussing McGreevy and how he felt compassion for what he was going through? In the course of things, Rush laughed and said (paraphrasing), Ill bet Ive started a very long freeper thread with this! Theyll freep this one for sure. He was laughing and seemed to know what he was talking about! I never did see anyone else comment about this yesterday
maybe I just missed it.
Speaking of movie recreations, did John Kerry use real ammunition for these recreations?
Aside from the expense to the taxpayers of ammunition, it is the lifeblood of war. The life of every soldier and sailor in that area was endangered by this pointless expendure of ammunition. Every round of ammunition brought into a war zone can only arrive there at the risk of life and in the event of attack, there is never enough to go around. How could any one justify such a feckless exercise?
On the scale of Kerryism, this one is small potatoes, but has this occurred to anyone else? If George Bush had ever done any thing so idiotic it would have lead the news for three days.
It would be funny if another division of swift vets came forward and said the story about the dog happened in their division, and that Kerry stole the story from them.
Common sense says this is more BS.....mine explodes under the boat but no damage done? How did he continue a search for a missing dog? Did he break out his cape and repair the damage himself? Duh!
absolutely - however, I think the undercurrent of doubt about the valor of Kerry's conduct in Vietnam has already begun. Ironically, it will be helped along by the all of the denigration of the military & soldiers that has been pumped into the popular culture starting with none other than Kerry, Fonda and their hippie bretheren. This served to dispel a lot of the "myths" of the heroic man in battle - Kerry will now reap what he has sown...I love it.
KERRY IS A FRAUD!
How about a window sticker like this?
Yep, I know at least somebody on Rush's staff lurks, because I've heard him make points in his monologues that were posted hours or days before on FR.
I think this is it and yes I did hear it too yesterday
