The essence of Vedic mathematics.

The ancient science of Vedic mathematics may well give calculators a run for their money

Does your mind wobble when confronted by a mathematical challenge more forbidding than two plus two? Do you dream of becoming the kind of person who can rattle off answers to the most complicated sums in the fraction of a second? If the answer is yes, you need Vedic mathematics. Try this for size. What's the square of 65? Simple: just multiply the first digit, 6, with its successor, 7. The answer is 42. Now find the square of the second digit, five, which is 25. Now bring the two together. Bingo, the answer is 4225! Don't believe it? Try it out with any two digit odd number divisible by five.

I heard a lot about Vedic Mathematics on Usenet. I have also some initiatives of vedic techniques. for eg if you would like to multiply 65 by 28. It can be done like this...

   65
x 28
-------------------
1820
12/48 + 10/40
-------------------
It is very simple and takes one third time as compare to modern methods. Few weeks back I came across an article on wired news which tells that modern students devour old mathematics to get admission in top Business and Engineering schools.

I would like to learn Vedic Math completely. Any good place?

Ramanujan also (IIRC) learned all his mathematical formulas from dreams, the goddess of learning Saraswati revealed it all to him. He "reinvented" math that was already in existence, and presented formulas and theories that have not been proven yet.
