We've had a lot of new folks join up recently. Welcome aboard, this thread is a gentle reminder of some basic posting guidelines. (And for some of you old timers as well) Please read the follow, and ask any questions. We will all try to help you out.
SEARCH
If it's a breaking news topic, check breaking news first, it's probably already posted.
To avoid duplicate posts, please search before posting. Use the published article title to prevent duplicates. The best method to search is to pick a key word or two from the title. If the article you are posting is, "Dan Rather Memo", start with 'Memo' for the key word. If it is a hot topic, you might want to use two or more keywords, in this case, try 'memo rather'. For an effective search, select 'match all words' and select 'order by post time'.
All non-sourced non-news threads are posted here. This doesnt mean your one thought is a thread by itself. Lately, we have been seeing articles posted that should be comments made on the main article. Your comment/vanity article will be pulled or moved to General Interest (Chat). Vanities should be limited to the mission of Free Republic.
For all of you who have blogs or personal web sites or personal news or opinion or forum sites that you would like to discuss or promote on Free Republic, here's the place to do it.
Our new Bloggers & Personal forum is for:
- Posting from your blog.
- Posting from other peoples blogs.
- Posting your from your personal web site.
- Posting from other peoples personal web sites.
- Promoting your blog.
- Promoting other peoples blogs.
- Promoting your personal web site.
- Promoting your favorite web sites.
- Posting from your favorite outside forums.
- Posting from your favorite lefty forums or sites (DUh and the like).
Click on the "Bloggers & Personal" forum link on the Forums sidebar of the latest posts pages.
Hopefully, this will become a very popular forum for promoting and or discussing blogs and personal opinion/news/forum pages.

Welcome to FR. I have great memories of Fr Bragg, met Mrs Zip there and been happily married to her for 41 years.
Hey man, she'd hurt ya.
Nah! You were born old and grumpy...
(Just kidding :o)
Could you give us an example?
Get a Life !!!!!!
Plop culture is denial of reality. (are you out of high school yet?)

There have been a couple of old signup trolls, but they're few and far between. With the help of alert FReepers, we usually hear about them after one or two posts.
Yeah. And your point is....?
Say, isn't that considered profiling? And just how many birthdays does the Admin Moderator have under his or her belt? Some of us may still have some spring left in our step compared to the 'one who zots'...

Greetings, fellow cultists!
I hope you all had a good weekend.
Unless you were really, REALLY quick, you missed a ZOTted post by one of the deepest of deep-cover trolls [Caribmon: Since 1998-08-31] I've ever seen. I saved the HTML just to give you a chuckle. :)

Reality is hell; Bombings, shootings, crime, war, etc.
While it is of paramount importance for our nation's future that the voting populace is well-educated, i.e. that they know their national and world events and politics, we cannot feed our souls off of this info, only our minds.
We must alleviate the hell of reality on occassion if we are to stay sane; this is why God has allowed us to experience Fun and Entertainment. That is my reasoning.
BTW: Mr. Condescending, I am young for sure (22), but I am a smart one, and likely as conservative as you. Don't turn your back on me. I might just bite. Ggrrrr!
Oh, and do you REALLY believe that entertainment and media haven't become intertwined? For example, for better or worse (and nomatter how silly it was) when Britney kissed Madonna, did it not make FRONT PAGE headlines on many major newspapers and internet news outlets?
Oh well here goes my membership. Where do I post this and how? Is this a CHAT item? Yes for real.
I went to http://www.factcheck.org/. As you know it is non partisan as opposed to bi partisan. I checked a few facts and seems KERRY is the big BS artist. Getting bored, I typed in Blow Hard - Kerry about 9 out of 10 top. Then I typed, yup, Blow Job (not really suitable for posting, but possibly OK for CHAT. KERRY won 10/10. Personally, I think that is about right, but the left would impugn the integrity of what I think is a balanced site.
Is there a programming error, is it correct or is there a programmer problem? Should we heep it quiet?
Explanation please?
I was slammed for making the same observation only the slammers slammed me because I had not been here long enough to make such an observation.
You got good veins.........
