The HTML Campfire
Gather 'round one and all. New or old, it doesn't matter.
All that should matter is a willingness to have, what may or may not be considered, knowledge bestowed upon anyone willing to learn how in the world all this cool looking stuff happens 'round here.
Let's get started...
Line Break: <br>
When you type <br> at the end of a line of text
This is what happens.
New Paragraph: <p>
When you type <p> at the end of a line of text
This is what happens.
These you need to turn something "on" and "off".
Bold "on" = <b> Bold "off "= </b>
Typing in:
<b>Bold</b> no more bold
Looks like:
Bold no more bold
The rest work the same way

Not an HTML problem, but is there any explanation for why FR posts now have a bit of a delay after they are submitted?
When the threads reload after submitting a post, I do not see my latest message. I have to refresh the thread page several times to see what I've typed.
FR used to always run in realtime, now it seems like there is a "seven second" delay. Is equipment being maxed out by the number of users or have there been some changes behind the scenes?

I'll throw in that putting an <ul> list is handy. Start off with the ul then put <li> items for each one, then close it off with a </ul>

Hello newbies, it's 2004 so you should really be using XHTML! The old stuff will still work, and almost all the above is correct but let me correct a few things:

<ol><li>one

<li>four

Which yields:
- one

- three
- four
(Bullet points or numbered lists can be nested, too).

But how do you display the "less than symobol which HTML would try to interpret if explicitly stated?

Ordered lists (similar to
lelio's "unordered list" in #8 are also useful:
<OL>
<LI>First List Item
<LI>Second List Item
<LI>Third List Item
</OL>
produces this:
- First List Item
- Second List Item
- Third List Item

I don't know a simple way to do that here anymore.
I'd just bold or change the color of the certain text.
