'Rove, Gillespie, Racicot, et al need to jump on this with both feet. They need to link sKerry to this anti-American, pro-terrorist institution.'
```````````````````````````````````
I am sure they are well prepared to answer to this, as they set the whole thing up.
oh boy, this is gonna be good. Looks like the Kerry campaign is gonna ride this titanic lie down a ways before giving up.
I am confused! We have an NBC report that the explosives supposedly "lost by Bush" were already gone by the time we first got to Al Qaqaa. But we have an AP report from earlier in the day that a Pentagon official confirmed that "U.S.-led coalition troops had searched Al-Qaqaa in the immediate aftermath of the March 2003 invasion and confirmed that the explosives, under IAEA seal since 1991, were intact. Thereafter, the site was not secured by U.S. forces, the official said, also speaking on condition of anonymity."
I think media embedded eye witness accounts, along with 101st airborne personnel trump an unnamed Pentagon official..
Well, we know the State Dept. is full of these people (and has been since the end of the war--WWII, that is--as far as I know), and I'm sure it isn't the only place.
Next week, he can go back to being Fifi (Kerry's special pet name for him when they're alone together).
According to the DUmmies:
Lockhart Statement Regarding BC04 Efforts to Cover Up Bush’s Failure to Secure Explosives in Iraq
Washington, DC - In response to reports that the Bush campaign is distorting an NBC news report in an effort to cover up the White House’s failure to secure 380 tons of explosive material in Iraq, Kerry-Edwards senior advisor Joe Lockhart released the following statement:
“In a shameless attempt to cover up its failure to secure 380 tons of highly explosive material in Iraq, the White House is desperately flailing in an effort to escape blame. Instead of distorting John Kerry’s words, the Bush campaign is now falsely and deliberately twisting the reports of journalists. It is the latest pathetic excuse from an administration that never admits a mistake, no matter how disastrous.”
I thought if The New York Times wasn't in the same Swiftboat as Bush they couldn't criticize anything he did in wartime.
Could be one report is referring to to the high yield explosives and the other to the "regular" explosives.
my email was ladylike and nice and shocked and dismayed. And asked for a front page retraction. It was bliss to write it. And more bliss to imagine Kerry with egg on his face.
Good for you.. I guess that this is another take on the theory ...if it feels good do it.
Hahaha. Great strategy: screw up your facts and then pretend someone else did it. Thats like farting and then blaming it on an invisible elephant in the room.
This is priceless.
Oh, tell me you made that up. That can't seriously be what they're saying now? They have lost it completely.
The guy who is really fixing to eat dirt here is that rumpled sissy Josh Marshall. He's always tilting at these white whale conspiracy theories he thinks will bring down Bush--to no avail.
Yet this is exactly what happened with Rathergate. McAwful tried to blame it on the Republicans. It didn't work then and it won't work now. This could be huge trouble for Kerry et. al. if Bush hops on it.
