My kids think I am an idiot. That don't stop them from asking me for money though.
Sounds like my ex, the one who is now all alone and having a real hard time finding a decent man.
This has been going on for years. I'm only surprised that it took people this long to start complaining about it.
Sometimes I think that I am just a walking, talking paycheck and life insurance policy.
Stuff like this is a joke.
Anyone who takes depictions like that seriously, remember, does so at their own peril. :-)
Many commercials today poke fun at males. I've noticed this for a while.
TV shows - especially sitcoms - have been portraying the father as a clueless dolt for a very long time. I wonder if this has anything to do with the large number of gay men writing and producing such tripe.
Also, the ad agencies write copy to target the demographic that makes the purchasing decision on the products they are selling. Ever wonder why beer and motor vehicle ads are the only ones aimed at men? Those are the only products that the "woman of the house" does NOT decide on, according to the people who study such things.
Its 'soft' persecution. I am sick of it. Fedex did this pap for awhile, so I avoided them.
Imagine if the roles were reversed, and the father told the mother to "go do the dishes" when she failed to help their daughter.
Imagine the outcry if the woman was told to just go wash the dishes. LOL.
Look at those Vehix commercials, with the guy comparing cars using a posterboard and yarn... or the other Vehix comm where the guys on the phone looking for a Silver SUV, while the wifey cleverly surfs to Vehix.com
I just chalk it up to the fact that if they made the women the butt of the joke, a flock of feminist harriers would rain down upon them.
heh
I've noticed this too, and I don't like it, especially when the guys in these commercials are decent guys trying to do the best they can. Let women take on the responsibility--the FULL responsibility that men have before they start making fun.
Has anyone seen a commercial for an insurance company (Progressive, I think)? A woman is spying on her spouse through a web cam (or such item). He is in a bar hitting on a lass. The commercial continues with the wife creating a cyber scissors (or similar item) and then placing them over his crotch. This is shown to the viewer at home. She then smiles when she clips away and he is seen in agony.
I assume the company got many complaints because in subsequent airings, the latter part of the commercial was edited.
My problem is that this spot goes out of its way to make the father look like an idiot and an unnecessary part of the family. There's enough of that kind of thinking out there already...it doesn't need to be reinforced by Madison Ave.
Been going on a long time....Marxists, femanazis, lesbians and sodomites who hate 'the man', the God intended... 'head of family' almost as much as they hate the America of our founding fathers...
"Macho" has been one of the left's curse words for many years...
Haha! Actually, that speaks volumes for their lack of strength of character. I mean, who cares what mental midgets think about me. I totally disregard all their other observations, why would I give any mind to any observation they might make of me, my sex, or whatever.
If you're not joking, that's really sad. STAND UP FOR YOURSELF, MAN!
