A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day....11-22-04....Military Monday

A Few of FR's Finest
....Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I could no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I had been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that didn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why we've created a place for just that. This is a friendly room in JimRob's house where FReeper FRiends can gather every day and just say hello if that's all they want to do.
There's more of course. We sometimes feature different FReepers, with a little background information on who they are and what makes them who they are, along with a few photos you might not have seen on other threads; sometimes others write an essay for us to post as the feature for the day; sometimes our presentation is a human interest story found elsewhere that you might not have read; sometimes special holiday threads; but whatever the topic of the day, it is always with FR's Finest in mind and that is YOU!
If you would like to be featured, or would like to see someone else featured, please send me a private FR mail.
Every Monday we will post the photos of FR's Military Personnel that I have collected and put into groups; these will be available to view through a link the remainder of the week - every day just a click away. :)   If you would like to add a photo of yourself or a loved one in the military, past or present, please let me know; I will hold it until I have enough for a new group.
Thank you, and please have fun with us...every day! ~ Billie

Closet Christians

Read: Matthew 5:13-16

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. —Matthew 5:16

Bible In One Year: Ezekiel 18-19; James 4

A businessman gave his heart to Jesus as a result of a Billy Graham evangelistic event. When he told his co-workers, his Christian business partner was elated. But the new believer hadn't known about his faith, and said, "You know, you're one reason I resisted becoming a Christian for several years. I figured that if someone like you could live a good life and not be a Christian, there was no need for me to become one."

A friend of mine and I were doing business in a local bank. He needed to change a $100 bill. By mistake the teller counted out six $20 bills. When my friend discovered the error, he walked back into the bank and quietly told her what had happened. The teller said, "I can't thank you enough. I would have had to make up the difference. Obviously, you are an honest man." He replied, "The reason I am honest is that I'm a committed follower of Jesus Christ. Giving you back the money is something He would want me to do."

Christians should lead exemplary lives. But it's important that we reveal the Source of strength and life who enables us to be different. As Jesus said, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:16). —Haddon Robinson

We will stand for truth and right—
Let the whole world know! —Peterson

Good morning!

For all of you who have been praying for my friend Dale who was injured in Fallujah, THANK YOU!

He is back in the states and about to have surgeries at Fort Lewis. I have heard from him via e-mail, and he sounds like he is regaining his spunk and optimism!

Thank God, and thank you for your support!

Good Morning All,

It's cloudy here in South Jersey, too.

Thanks for the early morning coffee and good words. Just what I need as I get the house ready for Thursday and the family.

Good Morning, Mayor. Thanks for the ping. I like that t-shirt; we'll have to see about ordering a few.

We're having a monsoon season here around Houston. Thank God we have inside work (construction) to do, otherwise, we'd be really hurting by now.

Good morning Chong!

I was on your profile page and saw you were born in South Korea and your are a now a citizen of the US.

My niece recently married a young man who was also from S. Korea and just a few months ago became a citizen and he is now serving in the USAirforce.

in a few weeks he will be giong to Seoul, where he will be stationed for about a year. Like I said before, he and my niece just got married, so can you keep both him and my niece in your prayers since they will be separated for a year. Thanks! :o)

But since I plan on going to the Inaugeration anyway, I thought I'd join the DC Chapter for thier demonstration, it'll be along the parade rout, maybe you can join us. If you want more inforemation, I could ping you to that thread.
