In June 2004, Swedish mother Elizabeth Krantz's five children were kidnapped from Sweden by Krantz's estranged Palestinian husband Ismail Nowajah. The children -- Adam, Amina, Zakarias, Miriam and Sara -- range in age from six to sixteen. They were taken to the Gaza Strip against their will and in contravention of Swedish law and have since been incarcerated in separate locations. Their mother, from a small town outside Gothenburg on Sweden's west coast, has custody of the children, with visitation rights granted to her estranged husband.
Ismail Nowajah says he disapproves of the upbringing his children were getting in Sweden, where they were born, and that he wishes to bring them up according to a stricter Islamic code, which he says cannot be done in Sweden but is possible in Gaza. Nowajah has signaled, however, that he is willing to release the children back into the custody of their mother in exchange for five million Swedish kronor (about 720,000 US dollars).
The children are Swedes. They are unfamiliar with Arab culture and have no knowledge of the Arabic language. They are thus unable to communicate in the environment into which they have been forcibly placed. They are denied schooling, and 15-year-old Miriam suffers from an unusual form of diabetes -- type 1 -- that requires special medication, treatment that has thus far been denied her by her father.

Death Threats for a Dutch MP

In the turbulent wake of the slaughter of Dutch media personality and provocateur Theo van Gogh, maverick Member of Parliament Geert Wilders has called for a five-year moratorium on all non-European immigration. Against a backdrop of threats to his life from the jihadi community, Wilders is now under 24-hour government protection. Even when he is in his high security office in the Dutch House of Parliament, there are two policemen at his side.
Police investigating van Gogh’s murder discovered advanced plans to murder Wilders, plus videos promising 72 virgins for anyone who managed to assassinate him. Wilders now does not know where he will be sleeping on any given night, as he is driven from safehouse to safehouse in a convoy of armored cars. He told London’s Times, “My life has changed completely. I am sleeping very badly. To think that someone plans to kill me is something that no person would have a good night’s rest about.” He continued with typical Dutch understatement, “Even when I am on the floor of the parliament, I don’t feel comfortable.”
The great thing about putting out a contract on someone if you’re a Muslim is, you don’t have to find the unmarked bills for the hit man. You just offer those notional 72 virgin retreads and you’ve got yourself a deal.
Fellow parliamentarian Somali-born Hirsi Ali, an apostate who collaborated with van Gogh on the movie that Muslim immigrants to Holland deemed blasphemous or insulting or some other whine, is now under such heavy government protection that she can no longer meet her obligations to her constituents. The Mayor of Amsterdam has also been threatened with action from the beheading community, as has his Muslim deputy, and they, too, are under 24-hour protection, as are two other members of Parliament, including Immigration Minister Rita Verdonk.
The Dutch, schooled in tolerance, have been badly shaken, first by the barbaric butchery and then by the aftermath of burning mosques, schools and churches and the 14-hour standoff between police and Muslims holed up in a house in The Hague, and subsequent revelations about more murder plans.
Two years ago, when Pim Fortuyn, who had been the first to spot that Islamic rigid intolerance was a threat to the tolerance of the West, was murdered, there were stirrings of concern. The election, held a few days after his funeral, produced large gains for the political party Fortuyn had recently founded in order to get some controls on Islamic immigration into tiny Holland (pop. 16m). For the first time, the subject had been brought into the open air and examined rigorously, without pious politically correct niceties. It gave the Dutch the first wake-up nudge.
Then Theo van Gogh was slaughtered and butchered in broad daylight on a busy boulevard in civilized Amsterdam, by a djellaba-clad second-generation immigrant. The terrorist killer shot van Gogh six times, slit his throat deep enough to sever the spinal column and stuck two knives deep into his chest, one with a note attached, according to the primitive rituals of Morocco, and the threat that Muslim immigration presents to Holland and the West now has a stark clarity.
But there’s another take on this famous Dutch tolerance. Ebru Umar, who worked with van Gogh and counted herself his friend, says it wasn’t tolerance, but indifference, that led the Dutch to allow mass immigration from an alien and opposing culture without a whimper of protest. (Holland’s famous great port of Rotterdam is now 47% Muslim.) "The Netherlands has never been a tolerant society. We always claimed that we were tolerant, but we were indifferent. We were indifferent to everything and anything, and that has led to the current situation. We were indifferent about immigrants, about their children, about education." She believes successive governments have accepted the status quo du jour and done nothing to drive integration or establish more stringent requirements for immigration. “Our politicians haven't got a clue where to start in changing this society."
But Fortuyn wasn’t indifferent, and nor is Wilders and an increasing number of Dutch voters are realizing that they’re not indifferent either. Wilders wants the doors closed on Islamic immigration for five years and forced integration of the ones who are already in Holland or, presumably, help in shipping out for those who refuse to integrate. Predictably, he has been dubbed a “far right racist” as the usual suspects try to shut down the debate, but he is hitting home runs with the voters. Recent polls suggest that his newly-created party will become the country’s second-biggest, getting 15 per cent of the vote or 23 seats of the parliament’s 150.
According to a new survey by the respected newspaper Algemeen Dagblad:
• Three out of four Dutch want 'radical measures' to combat Islamic terrorism;
• A similar number is in favor of increasing the capabilities of law enforcement agencies, the Attorney General and intelligence services. This in a country where even a few years ago, you would have been branded a 'Nazi' or a proponent of a 'police state' for even wanting to have a debate on this subject;
• A 'big majority' agree our country has changed irrevocably after the 2-11 attack on Van Gogh
• Only one in five see the attack on Van Gogh as just a tragic incident. Yes, 'only'. Usually, these percentages tend to be much higher in the Netherlands;
• An interesting remark near the end of the article: the survey took far more time than expected since many of the 400 interviewed needed to get something off their chest.
Wilders is also an outspoken opponent of the inexplicable EU drive to admit Turkey. Expatica reports him saying, "The flow [of Turks into Holland] is already too big. Some 30,000 non-Western people come into the Netherlands every year on the basis of marriage and family unification alone! I want to forbid this for the coming five years.” He also notes that allowing Turkey to join would set a precedent for other non-Western countries to become members. "Before we know, we will have an Islamic EU. I don't want that." And he adds that Turkey will be the EU's biggest member in terms of national population in 10-20 years time and as such (under the new EU constitution) it will have a major voice in forming new legislation. "I don't want Turkey to influence legislation in Europe, let alone in the Netherlands".
(For the record, French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin, Jacques Delors and Helmut Schmidt, among other powerful European statesmen, are also opposed to Turkish membership of the EU.)
As Wilders told Anthony Deutsch of Associated Press, “"We are a Dutch democratic society. We have our own norms and values. If you chose radical Islam you can leave, and if you don't leave voluntarily then we will send you away. This is the only message possible."
Wilders is also on the record as stating unequivocally: “I believe people who work against our democracy, and who favor this fascistic Islamic radicalism, don’t deserve the rights of our democracy. They don’t deserve the rights of the rule of law. Without going to a judge, they should be arrested and expelled.”
In Geert Wilders, at last the voters of Holland have a man who, despite threats of assassination, speaks his mind and speaks what many have been thinking for years but have been silenced by fear of condemnation by the politically correct fascist left.
Referring to the millions of unassimilated Muslims currently dwelling in Holland and the murder of Theo van Gogh and its aftermath, one woman said: “The question is no longer how we stop the madness, but how we survive the madness.”
And teacher Geert Plas, visiting the site where Van Gogh was ambushed, said, "Now maybe we'll listen. To me this is not just a small event. It's part of the World Trade Center and Madrid. We must see this."
I think this sentence takes it out of the realm of a dispute over the children's upbringing.

My thoughts exactly! DON'T MARRY THEM. It is not a racist attitude at all. The cult of islam is so restrictive and dangerous for women, you are asking for trouble if you marry a muslim. I never thought I would tell my daughter "don't bring home a ___" but that is EXACTLY what I am saying. With apologies to no one.
As a type 1 diabetic, this young woman has to take insulin every day. If she is denied insulin, she will be dead soon, if she isn't already. And it will be a horrible, painful death.
Stories like these remind me of the book, "Not Without My Daughter," later made into a movie with Sally Field. It should be required reading for any non-Muslim woman thinking about marrying a Muslim.
You must remember that muslims consider women to be disposable.
Hopefully, the U.S. will wake up too!
