~ God Bless Our Military ~
We ask Lord, that you guide the leaders of our great country in all of their decisions. The burden that has been placed on their shoulders is overwhelming. We ask that with Your infinite wisdom You guide them gently to the right decision.
Protect and guide our military Oh Lord; strengthen them in their trials; give them courage to fact the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
Below are names of some of our FReepers' loved ones who are serving our country. If you have someone you would like to add, please address a post to Billie; Mama_Bear; Dutchess; Aquamarine; dansangel, and we will add their name to this list. As we pray for them, we pray also for all our nations leaders, all military personnel and their families and friends. May God hold them close to His heart.

Do Angels Sleep?
Read: Deut. 30:11-14
The word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it. Deuteronomy 30:14
Bible In One Year: Zechariah 13-14; Revelation 21
A friend of mine has a 5-year-old daughter who is on her way to becoming a theologian. One day she asked her father, "Do angels sleep?" After pondering the theological dimensions of her question, he answered, "Yes, I think they might." His daughter moved in with a follow-up question, "Well, then, how do they get their pajamas on over their wings?"
We may be more like that little girl than we think. We never seem to outgrow asking interesting questions that do not need to be answered. It's healthy to be inquisitive, but it isn't healthy to obsess over matters that don't really matter. Such questions may sidetrack us from our faith.
What we need to know about God and His will for us is clearly spelled out in Scripture. The words He spoke through Moses to His people are true for us today. "For this commandment which I command you today is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off. . . . But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it" (Deuteronomy 30:11,14).
The Bible isn't a riddle; it's a revelation. It tells us all we need to know to be all that God wants us to be in every situation in life. Haddon Robinson
God's Word reveals what we should know
To live for Him each day;
His principles we must commit
To study and obey. Sper
The Bible is as wise in what it leaves unsaid as in what it says.

I remember reading where you and hubby walked on the beach last week at Christmas.
I was day dreaming cause that day it was 17 degrees here.
No beaches to walk when it's that cold. Unless you want to go skating..
We haven't gone out in years and years, safer at home.

I remember reading where you and hubby walked on the beach last week at Christmas. We were *visiting* from Atlanta and I was plotting and planning my permanent return to FL - LOL!
Here we are and I am so thankful to not have to deal with sub-freezing temps. In Atlanta, there was never much snow - only enough to be a nuisance.

I have given the politicos up here an ultimatum, either I am part of the battle to save this doomed area, or, I am finding a red state to move to..

The best of luck finding work, I know you want to move there permanently. We've been here permanently since just before Hurricane Jeanne in September. A July lay-off in Atlanta was the catalyst to send us down.
Employment here has been elusive, but I am hoping and praying that the New Year will change that situation.

Good morning, all my friends. I'm back and I had a great Christmas with my sisters and family in New Orleans. Hope you all had a great and blessed Christmas and that all of your wishes for the new year will come true.
I got an email from a friend this morning that suggested that we all write on every envelope we mail the words, "In God We Trust". The money that we spend to buy stamps has those words on them, why shouldn't we put them on our envelopes we use.
Thanks again to all of you for your prayers for my sister. She is in good spirits, however still flat on her back for at least another 3 weeks. Hopefully then she will be able to start rehab. Plans are that she will be home by February.

Good Afternoon!
This is probably a bad time to say this but I have a problem, something that has been knawing at me for nearly two months (Well, longer than that, but this happened just a couple of weeks after the election)
I was hoping there was someone here who can help me sort this out.
You all know how much I support the President, I will always do so!:o)
And you know I am a committed Christian My TRUE HERO is JESUS CHRIST.
One day in November just a couple of weeks after that spectacular win on Nov. 2 by our adorable President I was in the laundry room of my building I live in. I was already annoyed at some of the folks who also live there with thier attitude about me (worst mistake I made was letting them know who I planned to vote for!) Now certian ones hardly give me the time of the day.
I'm not saying everybody is doing this (there are some adults living here) At work there's no problem with it. my family doesn't treat me like a monster either (even if they were Kerry folks) They at least respect my views and my beliefs.
But when I was in that laundry room, there was also this older woman (87) that I got to know when I moved there. now she is a devoute Catholic Christian and she is very ill (she believes she's dying).
She neither likes nor trusts President Bush and she can't understand why I do. I try to explain but she won't hear what ever I have to say because she believes also that I've been "Brainwashed" and I shouldn't believe even the pictures or the speeches here or else were.
She basically accused me of putting the President above God, that's not the truth and you know it. (That's what I said to her) Now I was always taught to respect and honor older people so I didn't argue much with her. but the things she said to me really hurt and I can't seem to put them out of my mind and go on with being the good Christian American Republican Conservative Republican Bush supporter that I wan't to be without feeling I'm doing something wrong. Can anyone help me sort this all out?
I know this ain't a good time for this but I just couldn't let the new year start with this plagueing my mind anymore.
I wan't the shout out to her
I AM A CHRISTIAN!!!!!
