Boxer: I'll Call Condi a Liar Again

Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., said Sunday that when the full Senate debates the nomination of Dr. Condoleezza Rice to be Secretary of State on Tuesday, she intends to repeat charges that Rice deliberately misled the nation about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

"I will lay out again on the Senate floor [why] I do not believe [she] has been candid with the American people," Sen. Boxer told CNN's "Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer."

"[She's] gone on shows like yours and made statements that I don't think were true, or they were half-true, didn't tell the whole story, didn't level with the American people."

Reacting to criticism from White House chief of staff Andy Card, who called her attacks on Rice "petty politics" last week, the Marin County Democrat taunted, "Even though Andy Card would like me to go away. I'm not going to go away."

"[Rice] said things that were flat-out not true," Sen. Boxer continued. "When she said only one agency thought the aluminum tubes could not be used for nuclear weapons, that wasn't true."

As she did during last week's hearings, the Bush administration critic justified her personal attacks on Rice by saying that the Iraq war is especially important to Californians "because we've lost 25 percent of those who died in Iraq."

According to OpinionJournal.com, however, the actual proportion of deaths of U.S. troops from California is 11.5 percent.

There's no "blackout". I have heard the date a couple of times, I know, but can't quite remember what it is.

In days gone by, she would have made a mediocre millinery salesperson: "Darling, that bonnet looks ravishing on you."

Funny you should mention this. Michael Savage has stated that in normal times, she'd have, at best, risen to selling bras in the Bronx.

At dinner one evening at a seafood resturant in Bodega Bay, Ca., my wife and I were seated next to a table of women ranging in age from 7 to 60+. One was Barbara Boxer (which I pointed out to my wife). Most notably absent were any men. It was probably a birthday party and undoubtedly 'ladies' night out.

Boxer's 'style' seems to me very reminicent of my sisters', while my dad was doing duty as a divorcee. My younger brother and I endured quite similar female inconsistencies and disjointed logic during this time while in Mom's custody.

How I wish Condi had hammered Boxer on the Geneva issue by illustrating the difference between soldiers (who qualify) and terrorists who don't. Boxer's mention of McCain as an authority on POW's should have been met with the fact that McCain was in uniform---and these Abu Grhaib detainees were not. If for no other reason, perhaps these 'enemy combatants' might want to find a uniform in order to qualify for the conventions. That way, our guys would have no trouble discerning who to send bullets towards.

I've come to accept that, too many of my state's constituents are a few fries short of a Happy Meal, including some in my immediate family, and that hope for this state is useless. Stick a fork in it, California is done. Unless we can isolate the urban, coastal areas from the rest of the state, that is.

Come to think of it, listening to Boxer during the confirmation hearings was the equivalent of wearing panties on my head, if not worse. CSPAN owes me an apology.

I seem to remember that the only reason that WMD's became the most talked about reason, was because the "powers that be" thought that the WMD's would be the easiest to get the Security Council to agree upon for the resolution, but that ALL of the reasons were equally justifiable.

From journalist Bill Sammon's account in Misunderestimated, pg 108:

...the press did not realize that the administration had originally considered drafting three separate resolutions.

"I'm not sure we've ever mentioned this to anybody," Rice told me. "We actually thought at one time of trying to get resolutions from the U.N. -- after the president's speech -- not just on WMD, but on terrorism and human rights as well."

But she added: "We couldn't really get anybody else interested in it -- in the world community -- because there was a kind of sense that well, the WMD was what people considered the most pressing. But we actually tried to do that."

You know, what is amazing about the insanity of the left is that the Right tells them about their problem every day. It's not like we're trying to keep it a secret. Do they think that we're kidding? If they keep it up, they will lose even more votes, people who would otherwise be in their corner but must disavow them because of their mental condition. I am very serious. Yes, it is good news for us, but terribly strange. What Boxer did was tell the general population that, among other things, national security is but a fool's game. People will vote against these lunatics out of fear alone.

There is nothing in the Constitution that says the President has to deliver a 'State Of The Union' address at a specific time.... Article II, Section 3, of the U.S. Constitution states that the president "shall from time to time give to the Congress information of the State of the Union . . ." . Perhaps our President is waiting until after the elections in Iraq on Jan 30th to give his report to Congress and the world. It's not unheard of for the report to be given in Feb....

Prior to 1934 the annual message was delivered in December. The ratification of Amendment XX on January 23, 1933 changed the opening of Congress from early March to early January, affecting the delivery of the annual message. Since 1934, the message or address has been delivered to Congress in January or February.Today, the speech is typically delivered on the last Tuesday in January, although there is no such provision written in law, and it varies from year to year.

""[She's] gone on shows like yours and made statements that I don't think were true, or they were half-true, didn't tell the whole story, didn't level with the American people."

This bitch is completely insane. She uses a lie to insinuate Condi is lying?? I guess this is how to move ahead in the backwards world of democrat politics. Shout, lie, spit, snarl, LIE! Look what has become of the democrat party. Nothing but a bunch of lunatics who haven't a clue what's going on in the real world. She hasn't a clue what Condi actually said, and what was said about those Aluminum tubes Saddam bought for humanitarian reasons. After all, Saddam was a real good guy, a champion for human rights and freedom. So what if he killed or ordered the deaths of a few million people?? So what if he had a mass grave policy? So what if Boxers ideal political people in the world are a bunch of greedy Europeons who have lined their pockets with money at the expense of children, the sick and elderly. I'm sure these dead people and babies, babies that Saddam ordered saved up until month end, so he could produce video clips of his dead baby parade, claiming that he couldn't afford food and medicine (while he was building palaces) because of sanctions, meanwhile the UN crime ring filled their pockets with money, and the french, Germans, Russians, and Chinese made Iraq the biggest ammo dump on the planet. No Boxer, you loud mouth B*tch, Saddam didn't need to be removed, did he. The UN didn't deserve to be exposed for the corrupt criminal organization it has become, did it. So called "Allies" of the United states didn't need to be exposed for their part in this huge scandal, for the mockery they have made of the UN and what it was supposed to stand for. In your mind Boxer, those were all great honorable people who you were looking forward to doing business with, and now it's all ruined, along with your plans to line your pockets, hob-knobing with the worlds most corrupt and evil people and Nation leaders, All ruined because the People of the United States saw through the corruption of the democrat party, and voted for Bush. Go hang yourself Boxer, your career and party are finished. Only a few Lunatics at DU applaud you. Most people would be ashamed of that.

there is nothing quite like the spectacle of a Jewish Democrat white woman trying to trash a Christian Republican black woman. Senator 'Legree' obviously doesn't like it when black Americans stray across party lines.

Says it all.

"What will they do and say after the Islamofascists nuke NYC and DC? How do they intend to prevent that?"

I have to conclude they truly do think it's a Vast Right Wing Conspiracy and Halliburton's way of continuing to profit (although recently they have not prospered) -- the Mellow Peaceniks must be misled do-gooders who won't wake up and smell the Islam. Useful Idiots churned out of our K-12 and advanced Virtual Public Lobotomy Centers...and kept in mental straitjackets the rest of their lives by the MSM.
