I went out at 530 this AM to drive the fory miles to work. I have a 1/4 mile driveway but I was unfazed. Until I backed my fourwheel drive with diff lock on out of the garage. The snow was so deep and packed that it just lifted the body up. I managed to crab it into the garage, and called to say I would be late.
I called my plow man and his wife said that he was out and stuck in his two ton plow rig. He was waiting for some help to arrive in the form of his giant tractor plow.
Haven't seen a snow like this for a while.... and I am no wuss.

It was like that in Western NY from December to April. We used snowmobiles to get to our cars at the end of the streets miles away.

How many here think that just because a thought occurs to you or a snowdrift blocks your driveway, that incident must be shared with the rest of the world via the internet, just because you have the tecnhology? Show of hands - NOW!
Well, you'd be wrong! You should grab a shovel and dig!

as it could be much worseI understand. I spent three nights on the tundra next to the Arctic Ocean to celebrate the Winter solstice. Nature is a siren.

This New England transplant has lived here for almost 20
years. Still get a laugh when even a snowflake is threatened to appear in the skies and everything shuts down.

Pretty cool, but you must spend hours on the Internet finding parts for that bad boy.

I'm in northern Maine and my plow guy was here around 7:30 this morning. The winds reached 40 mph last night. Not sure how much snow we got, but we got a lot.The snowmobilers and skiers will be HAPPY!!! Quite a mess out there though.

My Dad's from Van Buren, Maine. He told me about some of the crazy snowfalls.
Personally, I like things a little more temperate :). I moved to PA within the last couple of years and I'm still not used to the winters. I already hate snow.

Pretty cool, but you must spend hours on the Internet finding parts for that bad boy.Parts are easy to come by. I have several reliable suppliers. Parts are easier, quicker and cheaper to get than for my Saturn.
Here it is on a logging road in the middle of nowhere near Jackman, Maine last winter.
And a rear view:

I'm waiting for my boss to call to let me know if my jobsite will even be open today!

Not when the owner of the site is a sailor.I hear you, Appy. I meant no disrespect. I just sort of enjoy the rivalry between the services, which I hope is done in good spirit.

I'm waiting for my boss to call to let me know if my jobsite will even be open today! I know the city plows were working all night, so the main roads should be open and clear.

Yeah, you're both right, Maine is the sticks. It's also the stones, or rocks.
