The "husband" was already well involved in another relationship by then and had been denying Terri real treatment for 5 years.

What a dryed out husk this man's life has become. How could he possibly have relations with another woman that produces two children, and live with that woman, setting the example it does for the children. All the while, his wife is in a hospice.

He may claim that he is acting in Terri's best interests. But his actions indicate otherwise.

Did he and Terri have an agreement that if one of them became incapacitated, that the other one was free to violate their marriage vows and "move on"? I doubt it.

Mr. Schiavo can claim he is acting in Terri's best interests. But in many respects, he is acting in his own best interests.

It may be a heavy responsibility to stand by his wife in the condition that she is in. But that's what he agreed to. he talked the talked, and he could not walk the walk.

I see this man as living a hollow, bitter life the rest of his days. He may have his money and he may have his new family, but at what price? Perhaps his soul.

I agree. The district court judge could have ordered IV hydration and ordered a PET scan. My understanding and it may be wrong is that because she had electrodes implanted for experimental therapy they cannot conduct an MRI.

Janet Reno never had any qualms about using force to do the wrong thing...Remember Elian Gonzalez?????

It's time to bring in the US Marshals and rescue Teri from the talon's of those tyrannical, black robed vultures who want her dead, and take her to a safe haven to be treated as she should be treated.

My friend, is wisdom truly wasted on the old in this day and age? I am sadden over a society that sees no harm in starving a handicap person to death. I am sadden over a society that will not allow parents to care for their child but make them watch her painfully die. I am saddened that this same society feels that marriage is no more than ownership rights over the other. Isn't it interesting the Democrat Party's allegiance to Islam? I can no long distinguish the difference anymore....

Two words - States' rights.

Two more words: 14th Amendment! (THE RIGHT TO DUE PROCESS)

Despite your frail attempts at revisionist history, Reno did the correct thing in the Elian Gonzalez affair.

Have a nice day!

If she dies I will boycott Florida.

I don't think the money people in Florida have thought this through - other than the long-term care insurance companies who stand to make a lot of money. There are a lot of us who will never go to Florida. Think about the people who were planning on moving there after they retired. It's bound to have an impact.

And long long-term care insurance, why buy it if it doesn't have a clause in it about euthanasia. Anybody in a nursing home more than 6 months is at risk.

But the law they said was from God Himself. So when we look at the laws of God, and the laws of democracy we can ask ourselves what this man asked his culture: "Which is lawful: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But those who condemned him remained silent. (From Mark 3:4).

So today we can choose to be like the Pharisees and Sanhedrin, putting the law above man, or we choose to be, well like God would have us be, to do good and save life, not destroy it.

Excellent.

The fact is judges are appointed from a pool of lawyers produced from fanatically liberal law schools.

Your chances of obtaining a judge is not "touched" by a liberal education are nil. Odds are that the judge selected would be a liberal leaning judge regardless. (if not a clinton appointee) This is why the left is so adamant about protecting their turf.

This is why judges became a national issue with this case.

The dispute with Terri's parents began in February, 1993 over money, specifically the $300,000 loss of consortium award that was given to Michael. The Schindlers and Michael have not spoken directly to each other since then.

The dispute over money was due to the Schindlers saying, "Okay, you've got the money now, so get her into rehab" and Michael saying, "No." The dispute over money was because Michael was refusing to treat her despite having just been awarded the $$ to do so.

There was a person on the Jesse Lee Peterson show yesterday who brought up the same point. I am getting really concerned about the constitutionality as well. My heart really hurts for Terri, but from my view, it doesn't look good at all.

Thanks for an articulate view. You really helped put this whole thing in perspective of WWJD. I have been trying to get my thoughts together to write our local newspaper and you have given me a path to follow. Thank you.

She says she went to the police. I hope they have a police report on Michael trying to kill Terri through insulin injection.

First I heard of this.

Withdrawing food and fluid is NOT common with patients in a stable condition. When children are starved and neglected they are removed from the household, and parents are sent to jail.
