The Neville Chamberlain Republican Senators
self | 5/24/05 | exit82

Posted on 05/24/2005 4:52:19 AM PDT by exit82

We have seven Republican Senators who have betrayed their party, their country, and the Constitution.

They have accomplished "peace in our times" by allowing the Democrats to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in regard to the judicial nominees.

They have not only sold us out, but they sold us out for no gain. All they have accomplished is that the filibustering of nominees has merely been kicked down the road, to a time and place of the Democrats' choosing.

The filibuster, they tell us smugly, will only be used in "extraordinary" circumstances. To the Democrats, if a Bush judicial nominee is breathing, that is extraordinary.

From this point on, it is hereby decreed that these seven Republican weiniemeisters are to be hereby referred to as the "Neville Chamberlain Republicans" because, at great cost to the country and their own party, they have capitulated to an enemy bent on destroying them, in order to gain a false peace of no value.

Let history judge them rightly.

You are now free to return to normal Freeping. Thank you for your attention.

Those 7 R.I.N.O.s must have either been breathing in to much of that Swamp Gas that Washington D.C. is built on top of, or ?
Those R.I.N.O.s were Democratic plants all along.

we still need to get to 60, or as close to 60 as possible, in 2006. This means: winning in Nebraska, Minnesota, Florida and North Dakato, and possibly also in Washington, West Virginia and Maryland; while keeping our seats in Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.

You got it.

The best way to make the 7 republican sell-outs irrelevant is to make the GOP majority bigger so they are no longer "swing votes."

How many Republicans were in the Senate in Reagan's first term? It was close to 60 if not over.

"Of course they'll vote Republican - where else are they going to go?"

Is there no other place to go?

Some of us might just find something better to do than getting up 2 or 3 hours early on a certain day in November, so that we can stand in long lines in order to take seriously an obligation of citizenship, one that the senators don't seem to give a damn about.

DITTO!! You have echoed my feelings exactly! I almost threw up last night when these RINOs kept talking about "trust".

My rino, Lindsay Graham said he thought his constituents might be mad at him "for a little while." He's right. I'll only be mad until the first Wednesday after the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November 2008. I'll forget about it then.

Even if we had a Super Majority, it wouldn't matter. If there were 70 Pubbie senators, the group of seven would have expanded to 22. Folks, these people don't WANT a change in abortion decisions. Especially the administration. They just want political cover.

Thanks Polyxene. "Somewhere Out There" (sorry, I'm feeling that song) *~*,,,,,,,,,we have to believe there is an up-and-coming generation that will get this country back on the right track. We need to replace some of those dusty, senile old farts (I don't need to mention names) with new blood that will UPHOLD the Constitution and get this country back to the way it was intended to be. Alas, once you feed a monster it gets bigger and bolder and soon bites the hands that feed it........you know, like the Senate and House and all that obscene buracracy in WDC. The citizens have allowed this to go on way too long and only the citizens can stop it. I just hope I live to see it.
