They don't make Gulags like they used to anymore

Never thought I'd see the day, but liberals have finally met a 'Gulag' they don't like, and it's Guantanamo! Amnesty International, backed by Newsweek's anonymous sources, says George W. Bush is operating "the Gulag of our times," a reference to the U.S. detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, where al-Qaeda inmates are brutally subjected to meals, shelter, clothing, health-care, prayer beeds, 1,600 copies of the Koran and free subscriptions to award-winning Terrorist Sports Illustrated. More cold-blooded still, inmates get to play soccer and volleyball -- yet their only crime was to kill Americans! (In fairness, some Democrats say Amnesty's over-the-top rhetoric was a terrible affront to Soviet Gulags.)

Before the protest mob at Amnesty issued its annual "report," Bush and the GOP were a bunch of right-wing Theocrats, now they're a bunch of Commies running a Gulag. Okay, so Gitmo is not exactly Stalin's system of starving and beating millions of people to death, says Amnesty huncho William Schulz, but sleep deprivation comes close! Inmates aren't being starved or beaten or forced to work, but telling a detainee to stand in the corner or 'Go to your room!' or write 'I will learn to stop hacking heads off' on the chalkboard 50 times is almost the same thing. Besides, putting these cuddly Hannibal Lecters in stress positions and depriving them of much needed sleep runs the risk of making al-Qaeda moody and irritable. Plus, this kind of stuff violates the Geneva Conventions, and we all know al-Qaeda is signatory to the Geneva Conventions. (You should see those al-Qaeda-run detention centers -- paradise! How can we compete?)

After more than 28,000 interrogations at Guantanamo, which got inmates to spill the beans on things like terror financing operations, safe houses, training compounds, travel patterns, smuggling routes, complex detonation systems, associated terrorist groups, plans for future attacks, etc., only 10 charges of "abuse" were deemed legitimate (although one weirdo inmate claiming he's a pop star complained of back pain and was rushed to a California hospital).

A recent Pentagon report said this about these harmless little "dissidents" in Guantanamo who were evilly arrested by Bush and Cheney: "Detainees were either actively involved in operational planning for terrorist attacks or had already participated in attacks in Europe, the United States, and/or central Asia at the time of detention. One detainee attempted to enter the United States in the summer of 2001, and a substantial volume of information suggests that he may have intended to participate in the September 11 attacks." The report adds that "detainees have also provided information about al-Qaeda operatives who remain at large," and how they've been instructed to use Guantanamo as the greatest tool for propaganda purposes -- but enough about the Democrats.

The Pentagon calls Guantanamo the "single best repository of al-Qaeda information in the Department of Defense." The interrogations have given America an "unprecedented body of information", expanding "our understanding of al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations and continues to prove valuable," so Joe Biden wants Gitmo shut down. "The end result is," the brainiac told ABC's This Week, "I think we should end up shutting it down, moving those prisoners. Those that we have reason to keep, keep. And those that we don't, let go." Must "erase" the "perception" of U.S. Gulaganism. Biden based his insane opinion on the insane opinion of Amnesty International, which now says it doesn't "know for sure" if Bush is operating a Gulag. "It would be fascinating to find out. I have no idea," said Schulz, Amnesty's chief Gulagist, on Fox News Sunday.

For liberal losercrats like Biden, who's stuck on stupid, Guantanamo has become the symbol of the Evil Great Satan. Now, as an Evil Great Satanist myself, I would pose this question: You think normal people can Biden their time, conjuring up Gulagistic conspiracy theories? Democrats, I guess, can do that because a lot of them have never made an honest living in their lives.

Like I said recently, Liberals have trouble with basic civics, but they don't have a clue what 'War' means either, so let's take this slowly. America is in the middle of a War. During war, prison camps happen. One of them is called Guantanamo. Inmates at Guantanamo were not picked up for wearing 'BUSH LIED!!! KERRY-EDWARDS '04' T-shirts on the battlefields of Afghanistan. They were not arrested for painting 'DEAN'S RIGHT! Rethugs have never made an honest living!' graffiti along Interstate 95 in Kabul or for jaywalking in Kandahar. They were captured while trying to kill Americans. They are not POWs, they are Illegal Combatants. Illegal Combatants don't wear the uniform of a nation state; they don civilian clothes and use cars as deadly weapons. Sorta like Ted Kennedy. So Geneva doesn't apply. Illegal Combatants are terrorists and terrorists don't sign Geneva Conventions. Bush describes them as "men who celebrate murder, incite suicide and thirst for absolute power" -- sorta like the Democrats.

The irony here is that, back in their home countries, these Islamonazis, approximately 10 minutes after that warm homecoming, get a date with death. Which is why many of 'em aren't exactly thrilled about going back. In fact, the dirty little secret is how easy they crack. No need to place Joe Biden's smelly panties on their heads to get them to talk. Just ask them how an afternoon with the Saudi Royals sounds like, and instantly they spill the beans. In Bush's "Gulag of our times," Gulagees get clean clothes, munch culturally sensitive meals, play checkers, play chess, exercise, get Korans and hear prayer calls from loudspeakers five times a day -- you know, just like your typical Gulag.

Seven months after Bush won re-election, the MSM's chief domestic agenda -- bringing down Bush -- appears to be sputtering. Faced with sagging polls, growing skepticism, diminishing clout, multiple setbacks and growing scandals, the press has become a lame duck. After all the media Gulaganda, headlines of 'Downing Street Memos', and 678,000,000 prison "abuse" investigations, Bush's still in the game. Today, he would win by an even bigger margin in a re-match against horseface. The Dems keep losing elections, Dean is off his meds again, Hillary sounds nuttier than ever, the Party smells like a rotting corpse, Harry Reid looks like a mortician, Nancy Pelosi talks like a mortician. No wonder the press would rather talk about torture and Theocrats running Gulags. Poor libbies. And the fun has barely begun!
