A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Relax, libs. You have 17 months to lose the elections. And you will

by JohnHuang2

The Associated Press reported this week that "Senior Congressional Democrats on food and farm issues" want to know "why the Agriculture Department suddenly ordered new tests on tissue from a cow declared free of mad cow disease seven months ago." A new "sample from the cow is being sent to England for further study because a third round of tests came back positive late Friday." Democrats demand to know "why new tests were ordered and why it took months to do so," but I'd like to know why it takes so many tests to figure out Howard Dean has Mad How Disease.

So, after getting their butts kicked last November, Democrats earlier this year got this brilliant idea. Since Dean proved such a colossal disaster as a presidential candidate, losing every primary outside his home state of Vermont, why not make Dean party leader? That's how a raving lunatic got to lead the party of raving lunatics. On the other side of the aisle, you have Ken Mehlman, the consummate professional, as RNC chair. How do you even begin to compare the two? On one side, you've got an effective party-builder, who raises tons of cash for the party, energizes the GOP base, motivates volunteers, gets Republicans elected, brings gobs of new voters to the GOP.

But enough about Howard Dean. As for Ken Mehlman, he does everything Dean does so ably for the GOP, but without being a rude punk. In contrast to Dean, Mehlman does not come off as a pre-schooler with poor potty training. With Mehlman, you won't see headlines like, Authorities use tranquilizer darts to subdue crazed RNC chief at rally. In less than eight months, Democrats have gone from being the party of John Kerry, who had reporters reaching for Provigil just to stay awake during speeches, to the party of Howard Dean, poster boy for Mental Case. Howard Dean is the answer to the liberal question, 'Where are the WMDs?' In an interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity, Vice President Dick Cheney said this of Howard Dean: "I've never been able to understand his appeal. Maybe his mother loved him, but I've never met anybody who does." Dean's mother promptly issued a statement, flatly denying the charge (that she loved him).
Thousands of Americans are killed by Muslim extremists crashing planes into skyscrapers, so Howard Dean concludes a) there are too many Christians in the Republican Party and b) Osama should be presumed innocent because Bush was tipped off by the Saudis and Dean knows this because it's an "interesting theory" he "heard" on the Internet. Osama's no angel, but he's no Tom DeLay either, and DeLay "ought to go back to Houston where he can serve his jail sentence" on all three counts of not being indicted. Even liberals thought Dean was out of line for leaving open the possibility that Osama's guilty, when obviously Halliburton did it.

Dean, leader of the party of Jesse Jackson, Ted Kennedy, Al Sharpton, trial lawyers and Welfare Queens, says Republicans "have never made an honest living in their lives." And don't forget John Kerry, who marries his way to an honest living.
But Dean is not always shrill. He has his charming moments, like when he said he "hates the Republicans and everything they stand for" and that he considers Republicans "Brain dead," noting how these Brain Deads keep stealing elections from brilliant liberals as part of their Brain Dead Plot to "remove democracy from America." Dean, who hails from the nutcase wing of the Nutcase Party, says "you can't trust (Republicans) with your votes." It's all part of a "struggle of good and evil. And we are the good," according to the Prophet Job, in the New Testament.
Commenting on the subject of Fox News, Dean called it "a propaganda outlet for the Republican Party," which is why "I don't comment on (the subject of) Fox News." Alan Colmes, Greta Van Susteren, Susan Estrich, Juan Williams, Mara Liasson, Chris Wallace, Geraldo Rivera -- buncha white Christian Republicans, all of 'em.
To get a feel for what kind of nut we're dealing with here, Dean's idea of uniting America and broadening his party's appeal consists of saying he's against racial profiling, which is why he's against the Republican Party, which has too many white Christians, as opposed to his Democrat Party, in which "only" 57 percent are white Christians. (New Dean slogan: I hate only 57% of my own party!) The RNC, the "party of white Christians," is headed by a Jew. The DNC, the party of "diversity," is headed by a white Christian.
Howard Dean's special knack for idiotic statements has prompted growing criticism and is raising concerns about his ability to remain party chairman in the face of his worsening Mad How condition. Which is silly. Mad How makes Dean the perfect Democrat. He is the Democrat Party. Think about it. What makes a Democrat a Democrat? Difficulty in thinking, foaming at the mouth, memory loss, bellyaching, dementia, loud outbursts, emotional instability -- all of them symptoms of Mad How Disease! Howard Dean personifies the party.

Sure, some experts say Dean could help the party by keeping partisan Democrats energized and politically active. Without Dean, they'd drift away to do their usual stuff -- knocking off the liquor store, pushing dope, molesting children, then getting off, etc. Beg to differ. When voters see your party as one headed by a psychopath, you have a problem. Democrats have three options.
Option 1: Make him tone it down.
Option 2: Removal.
Option 3: Tranquilizer dart.
I say go with Option 4: Give Dean a lifetime appointment! Why not? C'mon, just give him an up-or-down vote. No filibuster problem here. No need for "centrists' compromise deals." Just set a timetable for debate, then vote to confirm. The beauty is, for us lazy, corrupt, evil, brain dead Republican Christians, Dean doesn't cost a dime. When crazy Dean pops up on TV, saying Republicans come in only one color, shape, size and religion, it's an RNC infomercial free of charge. Who needs Fox News when we've got the best "propaganda outlet for the Republican Party." It's called Dean's mouth.

In the meantime, relax, liberals. You still have 17 months to lose the elections. (And you will.)
Anyway that's...
My two cents

luv.. you get the toaster.. OPPS, wrong thread! we give cars here. :)

Dutchess.. Most excellent job. Love it. Great illustrations & I love the Yeaahhhh.. spacers!!! I need to polish up my JH2 skills (ha) for new week.

Somehow my rhetorical question got us cohosting the Ohio thread? Hmm.. well seems we have a reprieve until after the Amy/Mama visit - 'so they can post comments/pix. Maybe we can go for September?

I was thinking it would be fun to do together a thread on the FReeper get together .. might as well do a joint effort there..Possibly we could do a weekend thread on both. Friday do Ohio & then on Sat post/re-ping and do the FReeper get together. Just thinking aloud/or akeyboard..

That's The Way It Works

Read:
Romans 15:23-33

Strive together with me in prayers to God for me. —Romans 15:30

Bible In One Year: 1 Kings 5-7

cover In his book Dear Zoe, Max De Pree writes, "The way to turn problems over to the Lord is to ask His people for help."

Before flying to Europe on business, Max learned that his daughter was pregnant. Her marriage, however, was in serious trouble. Sorrow and joy filled his heart as he prayed and sought to commit her to the Lord's care.

The next day he shared his pain with his close friend David Hubbard and told him that he was uneasy about leaving for Europe. He asked David if he would be willing to keep in touch with his daughter, to call or to visit if necessary. David assured him that he would. Max was relieved but also perplexed. He said, "Why is it I feel so relieved to place her in your hands, but last night when I placed her in the Lord's hands, I didn't feel so relieved?" David kindly explained that this is how the body of Christ is supposed to work.

The apostle Paul was keenly aware of that fact. Facing possible opposition from unbelievers in Jerusalem, he asked the Christians at Rome to join in his struggle by praying that he would be rescued from them (Romans 15:30-31).

Lord, may we not be too proud to ask for Your help by asking for help from Your children. —Dennis De Haan

God often meets our deepest need
With help we gain from others,
From caring members of His church—
Our sisters and our brothers. —D. De Haan

Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. —Galatians 6:2
