The Heart of Texas Chapter is planning a return to Crawford on Saturday, August 27. Our purpose this time will be to team up with the Move America Forward Caravan, which will originate in California, and pick up supporters from across the country. More can be found about Move America Forward here:MAF
We hope that with this much advance notice, more Freepers will be able to join us this time.
I have spent most of the day trying to contact someone at MAF, but they are so busy they haven't gotten back to me yet. However, it shouldn't be hard to notice a caravan of buses and cars in Crawford, so we will be able to jump in with them with no problem.
I spoke with Police Chief Donnie today, and he really seemed happy to hear that we were coming back. We won't need a permit this time, as we will be a tag on to the MAF permit.
Everyone with suggestions for signs, tactics, etc. please chime in. This will be another Support the Troops Rally--but MAF will probably get in a little Sheehan bashing--which is fine with me!
"I spoke with Police Chief Donnie today, and he really seemed happy to hear that we were coming back."
Great!
Did you happen to see just a bit ealier photos I posted, where a local woman who supports Bush went and tried to fix the crosses runover? The Cindyites didn't want her to touch them.
They wanted the photo op to stay as is for the MSM.
Aargh.
-zlala (hodar's wife)
BTTT!
The delegation will be led by Deborah Johns of Northern California Marine Moms.
This is excellent!
Thank you --- I would like to meet you too..
Of course I couldn't let you take the hit...I am not proud of my ignorance sometimes, but I am quick to admit it when I realize I've showed it...lol
I heard Joan Baez will be there Sunday.
Well done, Basil! Standing O!
LOL---how would she know how many there were?
According to some threads I have read, she is either hiding in her tent, sleeping at the Crawford Peace House, getting her hair done, or her feet massaged.
She doesn't have TIME to know what is actually going on around her.
Besides, I think she is somewhat of a "ditz" (not that there is anything wrong with that), so even though she is putting out partisan propaganda about the number of counter-protestors...
I wouldn't doubt that she doesn't have a CLUE how many there are!
GET OUT! you are kidding, aren't you?
She puts the name of other soldiers and pictures of other soldiers at this "memorial" and then uses it as a platform to promote a vile leftist agenda. It is disgusting. I think running the crosses over, while crude, was A) Doing the job the ACLU won't ;) and B) A valid political statement. Not any different then the action of puting them into the ground. It isn't her plot of land. If anything a Texan has more right than a Californian to his political statement.
Who gets arrested? The Texan... She puts those crosses back up at her fake "memorial" trying to dishonor the names of those on them, she should be arrested for LITTERING.
Don't Mess With Texas!

Here's the caption:
Iraq war veteran Hart Viges, who served with the 82nd Airborne, weeps in front of a broken cross bearing the name of a fallen comrade at the makeshift camp of Iraq war protestor Cindy Sheehan 16 August 2005 near the ranch of US President e George W. Bush in Crawford, TX. The crosses, which were a memorial for soldiers killed in Iraq, were vandalized overnight.
There has to be 7 people present before 250 people. Just a matter of timing, heh.
Nope, not kidding.

Move.On & Florida......
The real memorial for each and everyone of those soldiers is in a grave of their parents choosing. Those aren't memorials. It is a deliberate smack into the face of all those who have died. It was created to try to create emotion for this lady and her exposed and vile agenda. It is supposed to make her medicine easier to swallow.
Im not sure.

Same uniform dude again.
She'll be there singing "We Shall Overcome" with all the sixties wannabees.
Pitiful!
Excellent,I'm in Washington State, and my jet is having it's
30 weight ballbearings rotated.Seriously though I wish I
could join ya.Good luck
My husband can't get out of his vehicle to pump gas or run into a convenience store for a soda in his uniform. I seriously doubt anyone in the military would break this rule, especially for a televised support rally.
They could show up wearing shorts and t-shirts, however.
Well, I can give it a BTTT. :-)
Cindy needs some company. She said only 7 protestors showed up last weekend!===
Add me your ping list, will ya, Brad's Gramma? I just KNEW you were the hit parade list, lol!
I'm not so sure photos showed up, Brad Gramma, but some local Crawford Mom tried to fix the crosses runover. Cindyites said not. I'd post the photos again, but they were right the first time.
Search on my name, and they may show up. My dial-up is hokey.
EXCELLENT point!
Can't pump gas? Because it looks undignified?
I'm using Logan's ping list.
You will be subjected to pictures of The Cutest Kid Ever Born if you're added.
You have 3 seconds to reconsider.
One.
Two......
Just a suggestion, but signs and placards reacting to THEIR message just allows the citizens of Cindystan to frame the issues. If I were able to be in Crawford (rather than 2,000 miles away) I'd focus on what we are FOR and who we're supporting. FWIW
How special.....NOT!
Iraq Veterans Against The War? This guy is an Iraqi?
LOL! Another hasbeen heard from. Is she still alive?
Some of the pics seem to have been removed from Yahoo.
I can fix that, if they're still there....
LOL
Great work Basil and Texas FReepers (and others who will travel to join them). If I can pull a few stings & work a few miracles I will join you. For those like me not familiar with area. what airport do we fly to? Can you post maps etc. What is time frame?
I think it is called an unauthorized stop, or something like that when you are commuting to and from work.
Almost forgot to ping you two!
I'd do it but I am off to bed now. Try googling military uniform regulations or army uniform regulations dod, etc.
Out of state owner?
It will suck to be him!

Thanks, they are not just there, but new. I'm not quite sure how it didn't work. I did NOT save them to photobucket, but linked from yahoo photos.
I found them in yahoo news photos. But they were in a group of more than 130. I don't know. I doubt they are gone, though.
JLO
PS--Let's both try, ok? I'm old enogh to be a great gramma. Never had kids though. I am a great aunt though!

Well. I DID find a hippiewannabe!
I sure don't know what's up why the photos don't show.

"The protesters who are camped out in Crawford expressed outrage at the vandalism."
Rowena Jhant, center in blue shirt, a mother from Waco, Texas, and supporter of President Bush, is flanked by anti-war protesters objecting to her picking up crosses and American flags, part of their makeshift memorial to soldiers killed in Iraq, that had been vandalized the night before when a truck tore through them on the road leading to President Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas, Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005.
Jhant, who disagrees with the anti-war protesters led by 'peace mom' Cindy Sheehan, said she did not feel it was right to drive by and leave the American flags and crosses on the ground without trying to help repair the destruction. (AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite)
Don't know either...
Bumpity bump bump bump.
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!
