For the ones of us that support the caravan, but cannot attend, shouldn't we hold our own candle light vigils around the country? How would one organize such a thing?

Maybe the people who go could make a nice gesture towards the town of Crawford to say, "thanks for putting up with our traffic, noise, etc." Be sure to patronize as many local businesses as you can, and spend money.

Thanks for link! Get well soon.

Just a question for all: have these liberal groups EVER staged a protest of the terrorists beheading journalists and blowing up Iraqi civilians? Or is ALL their anger directred at the US?

RightMarch.com: "[ALERT] Support Our Troops TONIGHT Against Leftists & Cindy Sheehan"

ALERT: On April 4th, 2004, Army Specialist Casey Sheehan
was killed by terrorists in Baghdad.

On June 17th, his parents, Patrick and Cindy Sheehan, met
with President George W. Bush. Following their meeting,
Cindy Sheehan remarked, "I now know he's sincere about
wanting freedom for the Iraqis. I know he's sorry and
feels some pain for our loss. And I know he's a man of
faith." She said he brought her family the "gift of
happiness."

Five months later, Cindy Sheehan claimed that President
Bush's policies "murdered [her] child." Just one year
after meeting with the President, Sheehan called the
meeting "one of the most disgusting experiences I ever
had."

Now Cindy Sheehan is camped out in front of the President's
ranch in Crawford, Texas, along with hundreds of left-
wingers, demanding ANOTHER meeting with President Bush, to
push her NEW agenda.

The fact is, Cindy Sheehan has been USED by radical left-
wing groups like MoveOn.org and anti-war protestors --
groups like the anti-Semitic "Crawford Peace House,"
"United for Peace and Justice" (who led the anti-Bush
marches at the GOP convention last year), "Code Pink"
(who disrupted INSIDE the convention hall), the far-left
"Air America" radio network, plus loony leftists like
Reps. John Conyers and Maxine Waters, and even MICHAEL
MOORE himself.

These people don't care about Cindy Sheehan. They don't
care about her son. They don't care about the troops. All
they care about is their political "hate-America" agenda.
Cindy's own family has released a statement about this
whole ordeal: "She now appears to be promoting her own
personal agenda and notoriety at the the expense of her
son's good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan
Family supports the troops, our country, and our
President..."

It's time for YOU AND I to show OUR support for the troops,
our country, and our President, too -- and here's a way
YOU can do that, in your own local area.

TAKE ACTION: These far-left groups are all planning "local
vigils" around the country TONIGHT, where they claim
they're going to "acknowledge the sacrifices made" in the
War on Terror. But they're LYING -- you can BET that they
will be holding signs that say the kinds of things that
Cindy Sheehan has been saying for the past few months --
things like "Bush is a maniac," "Bush is a lying b_stard,"
"George Bush killed my son," "Casey Sheehan died for oil,"
"Casey died for American Imperialism"... it just goes on
and on.

These leftists have shown over and over again that they
HATE America, and they certainly HATE President Bush. One
supporter of Cindy Sheehan called in to Air America and
said, "Osama Bin Laden had it right: His throat should be
slit!"

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. The mainstream media has been hyping
Cindy Sheehan and the far-left antics of her "friends" for
weeks now, over and over ad nauseum. We need to show that
the majority of Americans LOVE this country, and SUPPORT
our president and our troops.

"vigil" is where YOU live, and then scroll down on this

HOURS, so go to MoveOn.org's website to locate the one near
you, and print out some signs (or write some yourself) and
head on over. Be sure to send this Alert to EVERYONE you
know who wants to help STAND UP against the radical Left,
and FOR our troops. Thank you!

William Greene, President

Maybe this will help to quiet down some of the media nonsense of this woman who is dishonering not only the memory of her son and what he stood for, but her country as well.

She's a modern day Jane Fonda - and even more foul-mouthed to boot - while giving aid and comfort to terrorists. Good for the "You Don't Speak for Me, Cindy" tour.

Temple man at odds with Crawford protest

Gary Qualls, 48, of Temple on Wednesday removed a cross bearing the name of his son, Louis Wayne Qualls, from the roadside memorial of the anti-war demonstrators near President Bush’s Crawford ranch.

“They have the right to protest,” he said of the followers of Cindy Sheehan. “But they are not there for a just cause.”

Sheehan has gained a lot of attention for saying that she wanted to speak to President Bush, even though published reports said Bush met with Sheehan two months after her son Casey was killed in Iraq.

Qualls said he has given several media interviews, including one with CNN. Today he is supposed to go back to Crawford for a CNN television conference that he said would be broadcast worldwide.

“I’m just trying to support our troops,” he said. “Our sons and daughters are true fallen heroes and their names do not need to be used in any personal vendettas.”

His son, a Marine lance corporal, died last year in Fallujah while protecting his convoy during an ambush. Qualls is himself a military veteran, and participated in the evacuation of Saigon when the United States withdrew from Vietnam.

“I’m standing up for my son,” he said. “For all soldiers of the military services, all fallen heroes and President Bush.”

There is no need to impeach Hanoi Kerry from the US Senate

He is there illegally!

WAKEUP AMERICA!

For those who "forgot" what Hanoi Kerry
did in the past read on and learn the truth.

Hanoi Kerry was still a USNR officer while he:
gave false hearsay testimony to Congress
negotiated with the enemy
helped the US lose a war
abetted in the deaths of millions
created a hostile environment for all servicemen

Why is Kerry still in the US Senate?
This is in violation of
U.S. Constitution Amendment 14 Sec 3

And the FBI has proof of his treason.

Thanks Jim,

Wish I could go.

My prayers are with all of them for a safe trip, and I wish them much success.

Not like the Press will bother covering these Mothers though, not with Cindy the ditch lady to banter about.

Joe

"...the degree of terrorist activity in Iraq is the result of our being there; i.e., the terrorism wasn't there prior. "

You are neither rational nor loyal. Your above statement alone is ludicrous, since most of the terror against Saddam's own citizens was in its rape rooms and mass graves. Get a clue. Here is an article to help you:

The left doesn't support the troops and should admit it

By Dennis Prager July 12, 2005

© 2005 Creators Syndicate, Inc.

Liberals, Democrats and others on the Left frequently state that they "support the troops." For most of them, whether they realize it or not, this is not true. They feel they must say this because the majority of Americans would find any other position unacceptable. Indeed, for most liberals, the thought that they really do not support the troops is unacceptable even to them.

Lest this argument be dismissed as an attack on leftist Americans' patriotism, let it be clear that leftists' patriotism is not the issue here. Their honesty is.

In order to understand this, we need to first have a working definition of the term "support the troops." Presumably it means that one supports what the troops are doing and rooting for them to succeed. What else could "support the troops" mean? If you say, for example, that you support the Yankees or the Dodgers, we assume it means you want them to win.

But most of the Left does not want the troops to win in Iraq. The Left's message is this:

"You troops may think you are winning; you may think you are doing good and moral things in Iraq; you may believe you are fighting the worst human beings of our age and protecting us against the scourge of Islamic terror. But we on the Left believe none of that.

"We believe this war is being fought for oil and for Halliburton and other corporations; we believe you are waging a war that is both illegal and immoral; we believe you have invaded a country for no good reason and have killed a hundred thousand Iraqis [the Left's generally mentioned number] for no good reason; but, hey, we sure do support you."

Honest people on the Left need to understand that the two positions are not reconcilable. A German citizen during World War II could not have argued: "The Nazi regime's army is engaged in an evil war of aggression and is slaughtering millions of innocent people, and I therefore completely oppose this war, but I sure do support the Nazi troops."

One example is the claim made by Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry and almost all other Democrats and liberals that the war in Iraq is "the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time." How does one support troops that are fighting a wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time? A few leftist writers have been honest enough to say, "Nothing personal, guys, but I sure don't support you." But the vast majority of the Left and all Democratic politicians have not been honest on this matter.

A second example is the oft-repeated line, found on liberal bumper stickers, "War is not the answer." Aside from the idiocy of this claim – war has solved slavery, ended the Holocaust, destroyed Japanese fascism, preserved half the Korean peninsula from near-genocide, and saved Israel from extinction, among other noble achievements – the claim offers no support to those who do engage in war.

How could one believe that "war is not the answer" and also claim to "support the troops," the very people waging what is "not the answer"? The answer is, by being dishonest.

A third example is the Left's opposition to military recruitment on most of the elite and many other college campuses. So deep is leftist disdain for troops that most on the Left regard the mere presence of military personnel on a university campus as a form of contamination. Yet, the Left claims to "support the troops."

Many on the Left express far more contempt than support for the troops.

A Democratic senator compares our interrogators to the Nazis and communist torturers; the head of Amnesty International in America defends likening Guantanamo Bay to the Gulag; and liberals routinely speak of troops as coming from the lowest socio-economic rungs of society (maybe that's one reason they oppose recruiters on campuses, lest the best educated actually join the military). But, hey, the Left supports the troops.

An honest leftist would say: "Because I view this war as immoral, I cannot support our troops." What is not honest is their saying, "Support the troops – bring them home." Supporting people who wish to fight entails supporting their fight; and if that fight is opposed, those waging it are also opposed.

Many on the Left angrily accuse the Right of disparaging their patriotism. That charge, too, is false. I have never heard a mainstream conservative impugn the patriotism of liberals. But as regards their attitude toward our troops, the patriotism of those on the Left is not the issue. The issue is their honesty.
