Father, we continue to pray for President Bush and the almost overwhelming difficulties he has had to deal with during his presidency. Lord, it is difficult to understand why he has had such a heavy burden to bear, but we know that You have promised not to give us any burden for which You do not also give us the strength to bear it, and we pray at this moment, that You would enfuse him with strength and courage to face this latest trial. We ask that You would cover him with Your love, and guard his heart against anything that would defeat him. Lighten his spirit, and keep him aware at every moment that he is being supported in prayer, and that You are with him. Help Laura to be a comfort and refuge to him as they serve the Lord, and this nation together.
We pray for our military in harm's way, dear Father, and ask that You protect each one of them. We thank You for their courage and strength, and ask that they might feel Your presence and calm in their midst. We pray for those who have been wounded; we pray for those who are lonely; we pray for those who are afraid. Meet the individual needs of each one of these fine sons and daughters of America, we pray. We entrust them in Your care.
And dear Lord, we also continue to pray for this great nation, which You have used to spread light and joy to dark corners of the world. We know, dear Father, that we have lost our way, but we also know that many among us seek to serve You and honor You with our lives. We ask that You might speak to and through us, that we might be a sweet fragrance to a world rank and needy. Help Your children who are offering their time and expertise and love to those stricken in the Gulf region to reflect Your divine love and mercy. We thank You for Your love for us, and ask that we might have the courage to share it with others, and we ask all these things in the glorious Name of Jesus, who is the Christ, Amen!
THANK you!
Prayers for the President, the troops, the nation and those in the hurricane's path. May God protect us all.
Amen and AMEN!
"And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all thingsat all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written:
"He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever."
Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God."
2 Corinthians 9:8-11 NIV
I feel this applied not only to President Bush, but our troops and those that are providing those escaping from the hurricanes, not only monetarily, but with their time, open hearts and open hands.
Amen! Praying for God's protection.
I agree, Linda! May the President, and all those who serve be 'rich in every way.'
Thank you!
Amen to a beautiful prayer, ohioWfan.

AMEN OHIO AND AMEN ALL!
GRACE TO ALL BRETHREN!
"Accepted in the beloved."
- Ephesians 1:6
What a state of privilege! It includes our justification before God, but
the term "acceptance" in the Greek means more than that. It signifies that
we are the objects of divine complacence, nay, even of divine delight. How
marvellous that we, worms, mortals, sinners, should be the objects of
divine love! But it is only "in the beloved." Some Christians seem to be
accepted in their own experience, at least, that is their apprehension.
When their spirit is lively, and their hopes bright, they think God
accepts them, for they feel so high, so heavenly-minded, so drawn above
the earth! But when their souls cleave to the dust, they are the victims
of the fear that they are no longer accepted. If they could but see that
all their high joys do not exalt them, and all their low despondencies do
not really depress them in their Father's sight, but that they stand
accepted in One who never alters, in One who is always the beloved of God,
always perfect, always without spot or wrinkle, or any such thing, how
much happier they would be, and how much more they would honour the
Saviour! Rejoice then, believer, in this: thou art accepted "in the
beloved." Thou lookest within, and thou sayest, "There is nothing
acceptable here!" But look at Christ, and see if there is not everything
acceptable there. Thy sins trouble thee; but God has cast thy sins behind
his back, and thou art accepted in the Righteous One. Thou hast to fight
with corruption, and to wrestle with temptation, but thou art already
accepted in him who has overcome the powers of evil. The devil tempts
thee; be of good cheer, he cannot destroy thee, for thou art accepted in
him who has broken Satan's head. Know by full assurance thy glorious
standing.
Even glorified souls are not more accepted than thou art.
They are only accepted in heaven "in the beloved," and thou art even now
accepted in Christ after the same manner.

SOLI DEO GLORIA!!!
"And it should come to pass, that before they call I will answer; and while they are speaking I will hear". Isaish 65:24 Thank you all for your prayers for our President and Vice.President, our military and this great country. Our enemies find delight in our troubles, but this great country will rebound, become stronger and hopefully unite in the tradition that founded this nation almost 400 yrs ago. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lord, the president has a very difficult job. Those people that aren't his enemies are trying to get something from him. I pray he finds true counselors, persons of faith, trust, and loyalty, to help guide his judgment.
He cannot possibly please everyone. He must make choices that will upset everyone at times. I pray he fixes himself on pleasing You and You alone, and lets the chips fall where they may.
Lord, I ask that the challenges we face, great they are, will be used of You to chasten and discipline us. May they impart life to those who seek You, and may they cast down those who staunchly set themselves up in opposition to Your reign.
I think you for the reduction in intensity of hurricane Rita. I ask that the wind and waves be calmed, for the sake of the innocent. May the chastisements we must endure be focused on those who most need them.
Protection and blessings for Your people, Israel, please. And for our troops, and for all who fight the good fight of faith and freedom.
May Your church be fully yielded to You, O Lord. May we be assembled - not merely gathered - in proper order, according to our calling, as the Holy Spirit leads, to reflect Your glory and manifest Your power.
That the name of Jesus would be exalted as it should.
Amen!!
