Defenders of Iraq war counter-rally Smaller-than-expected gathering follows anti-war protest Sunday, September 25, 2005; Posted: 6:17 p.m. EDT (22:17 GMT) story.rally.ap.jpg Supporters and detractors of the war in Iraq line opposite sides of a Washington street Sunday. WASHINGTON (AP) -- Support for U.S. troops fighting abroad mixed with anger toward anti-war demonstrators at home as hundreds of people, far fewer than organizers had expected, rallied Sunday on the National Mall just a day after tens of thousands protested against the war in Iraq. "No matter what your ideals are, our sons and daughters are fighting for our freedom," said Marilyn Faatz, who drove from New Jersey to attend the rally. "We are making a mockery out of this. And we need to stand united, but we are not."

Hey, I'm with you! And with the troops in their mission. Their mission IS our mission!! They are the troops on the front, we are the troops on the homefront.
The other day I was standing in the return line at Walmart. I started talking to these older ladies from Massachusetts. Just chit chat. Me: "I grew up in Boston." Them: "Really? Nice." One of them: "I like Kerry!" Me: "Really? Not me, not after I found out what he did after the Vietnam War -- how he lied about his fellow soldiers and betrayed them. I like President Bush."
Well, friendliness turned to anger on their part. I stayed pleasant, but strong. There was a woman standing behind these two women, and she looked a little afraid. But when the war in Iraq came up, I said in a straightforward manner, "I support the troops AND their mission."
One of the ladies looked like she wanted to do something bad to me, but the woman standing behind them just shook her head up and down in a "Yes, Me, too," manner.
When they left, I said, "Shalom!" Turns out they were Jewish, so it was a lucky thing. I just stayed pleasant but strong in my stand.
There are opportunities EVERYWHERE! And blade by blade, this grassroots effort to support THE TROOPS, THEIR MISSION, OUR COMMANDER IN CHIEF and THIS GREAT COUNTRY GOD HAS GIVEN US to take care of, will grow and grow and grow.
Just remember: "Without a vision, people shall perish."
Rush Limbaugh says that people don't get excited about hate. They follow a vision, and passion.
Let's stand up strong for LIBERTY & JUSTICE FOR ALL and do it in loving way. We are winning! And we will NOT let the socialist/communist LEFT take our dear country from us!!

I think one of the reasons it looked like it flopped is because most of the people that support the troops AND their missions have jobs and responsibilities to take care of. One of the speakers, Kevin, even said so. While the Anti-American, anti-war crowd go to these protests for a living -- in other words, they have no jobs. They're professional protestors! Ask anyone who's been around - it's the same people all the time.

After reading your post, Googled up my C/S. Considering going to code.
Last I heard (here), some prof is developing a sniffer for IEDs. Great idea but the range of detection was ~3-5 meters. That sucks.
Thinking cap on; put the package on a forward deployed remote controlled toy, triggered to stop and warn.
Don't want any more cheap shots.

I first came to the US in 1992 August, right before the Bush/Clinton election. Watching that election cycle, I immediately aligned myself with the conservative ideology.
My 13 years in the US only confirmed my original thinking.

We can never win in a numbers contest with the left; they have thousands of non-working students and paid political protesters. BINGO
We need to think of something that totes up the numbers on our side. I can't quite decide what that should be, but something which allows the left to bray about how they got more numbers than we did is NOT the right venue!
This comes to mind ...
THE GLENN BECK PROGRAM
National Rally for America
I wasn't able to drive 5 hours down to DC today, because I have small kids and no one to watch them ..
But when Glen came to my area (Valley Forge) during this tour, I was able to go .. my oldest daughter even came with me

I hear the various excuses about low turn out, jobs, the liberals being bussed in, etc.
But, I'm starting to think it's just mainly that most of the liberal protesters are young. They have the time and energy to spend on these protests. It makes them feel good to be doing something 'positive'.
Unfortunately, when they mature, settle down, have families, more responsibilities, and start to realize how wrong they were, they don't have the time to protest anymore.

Sorry I could not make it to DC.
We sat and watched on CSPAN. Both, (partially) the professional laying and hating America morons and on Sunday, the fine Americans being proud of their fallen loved ones, with tears in our eyes. What a difference!
I hope that we will show and outvote the dead and multi-voter RATs when it comes to electing our leaders and sending the scumbags to the heap of RAT history.

Geez, you don't get it do you?
Any sane person, let alone a rightwinger like me, would want only one side to win in Iraq. Obviously the side that is fighting to build a long-term free/democratic country.
Is that not clear from my posts?
To: indianrightwinger
My local paper reported the crowd at yesterday's left-wing rally as 100,000, which is a complete lie.

That will work good in an laboratory environment but if there as been any fires or shooting in the area, it will go off all the time. The best way to get rid of bombs is get rid of the bombers. That always works. The best way to get rid of them is change or break their will or kill them. What the problem is, is we are killing some of the people we need to rebuild the country with. It is going to take a while, but if we can convince them that life is great and everybody can have a great life, then the dying will stop. Even if we have to put in a Disney Land or something simular to win the hearts and minds it will be worth it.

Tell it now! I just told mine to armymarindad.
These experiences are really fantastic small/big victories. Done by hundreds of us, hundreds of times a week, all over America, it WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!
I always wondered how the the early Americans got the American Revolution going. They had no phones, no fax machines, no radio, no t.v., no INTERNET!!! just word of mouth.
Let's just do what the early American Revolutionaries did -- after all we are having a revolution here in America -- a revolution against the ANTI-AMERICAN LIBERAL SOCIALIST/COMMIE LEFTISTS!! and FOR OUR COUNTRY -- THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE!!

The leftist trash that lives for these protests have no real jobs to limit their treasonist activity. Not too long ago these waste of humanity would be hanged for treason and sedition against America.
The mainstream media is just as guilty as the traitorous filth that is attempting to convert America to socialism. I will fight them to the death.
