Muslim Campground Raided, But Why?
The Hartford Courant ^ | September 27, 2005 | GARY LIBOW, Courant Staff Writer

EAST HADDAM -- Around town - and as far away as Tennessee - people are wondering why federal agents seized datashak plants and seeds and 19 computer discs from a Muslim campground in Moodus.

First Selectman Brad Parker said Friday's raid on the 18-acre Town Street campground, owned by Darul Uloom Shady Brook Inc., has the town abuzz. FBI agents and officials from the U.S. Department of Agriculture conducted the raid.

"Out on the street, people don't think that [the federal government] would go to that effort for a spinach plant," Parker said.

A Tennessee-based blog called "Ginny's Thoughts and Things" also seeks answers about the East Haddam raid: "I'm totally confused on this one. Could someone explain this to me?"

The federal Office of Inspector General declined to shed any light Monday, citing an ongoing investigation.

PS ---

Unlike Washington/Oregon jihad states - Tennessee and Memphis are definitely ANTI-islamic terrorist! - That's why so many there are being caught.

It is the states where there are none caught that I would really start to worry about. We have already been infiltrated and their cells are in every major area in this country.

It's called private property.
Virtual HI-FIVE. - Exactly!

I don't allow police inside my home either, and I have nothing to hide. Unless, of course, they show up with a legally issued search warrant.

There is a compound here in Virginia that doesn't allow police inside their facility. If the police want to speak to someone, they have to ask at the gate and wait for the person to be brought to them (if at all). So far, the police are unwilling to start another Waco over it.

If the police have no probably cause to believe that there are crimes being committed inside and have no warrant, then there's no comparison to Waco.

That's like saying that a policeman cannot walk up to your door. He has to stand at the curb and wait for permission to walk on the lawn.

Policemen walk into apartment buildings all the time.

A Muslime campground?

Are they putting up tents and grazing Camels here in the USA?

There is housing on the grounds. It's like a camp.

I always bring lots of computer disks when I go camping.

Particularly encrypted ones.

And that's the way it's supposed to be, unless there's a search warrant...

The police can come on your property if they want. They just have to stop at the door.

If you stop them from stepping on your property, you are a terrorist.

Search warrant only applies to your dwelling and/or searching. Police can come to your door if they like.

"If you stop them from stepping on your property, you are a terrorist."

Not if you fence the property and put a gate at the front.
