Heated day in D.C. leads to more prewar probes. Democrats claim victory.

Democrats claimed “victory for the American people” Tuesday after the Senate Intelligence Committee agreed to continue an investigation into prewar intelligence claims made by the Republicans, the Senate minority leader said.

Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., forced the Republican-controlled Senate into an unusual closed session for more than two hours Tuesday, accusing Republicans of ignoring intelligence that President Bush used before invading Iraq.

A phase-by-phase investigation will resume, Reid announced after the secret session. It will be the second stage of a probe that Democrats have been pressing for for a year.

An appointed six-member task force — three members from each party — will review the committee’s progress and report back to their respective caucuses by Nov. 14.

Don't know if it's true, but one of the Repub Senators came to the floor after coming out of session claiming that this investigation phase 2 had been on the books for some time already. That is to say, the Rats are claiming victory by getting something that was already scheduled to occur.

I believe that it was already agreed to. The Dems grandstanded today to demand something that was going to happen anyway.

The Democrats are also claiming victory after the Republicans caved into their demands that the sun go down in the West this evening.

Bingo, Today was nothing but a stunt. Pat Roberts was scheduled to finish up next week, and the Dems postponed the report until Nov 14th, The Rats do not want the report to come out because there is no there there

WHY, oh, WHY did the Republicans agree to this?!!!!!!!

Didn't you hear Roberts speech??

This has been in the works since Feb and they were ready to move on in May .. but the Dems kept delaying

Roberts also said something about a report of some sorts was to be ready around the 14th and didn't see a reason for this stunt and the personal attacks on him by Reid

This will backfire on the Dems

which has been their agenda for many years now.

Watch what happens when a planned troop withdrawl is finally going to be annouced for Iraq. The dems will step up up their calls for the troops to be brought home along with the idiot liberals.
You'll hear Hillary, Kerry, Kennedy, Pelosi, Ried, and all the rest of the stooges calling for troop reductions in Iraq. The moonbats will hold more rallys.
All to try to make it appear that they are responsible for the troops coming home.

Easy to claim they won when the 'second phase' of the investigation WAS ALREADY UNDER WAY.

The gentlefolk who spent an amazing amount of their lives telling us about the Senate being the "saucer that cools" (blah blah blah) during the Clinton impeachment hearings threw a temper tantrum today because the two-year, politically driven investigation into what really happened when their churl, Valerie Plame's boy-toy, lied about his CIA employment didn't result in a witch hunt against Carl Rove or the "neocon conspiracy." When the little brats didn't get their way, they dragged the Senate out of the conservatory, right past the playpen, and into the pigpen. Reid and Schumer are petulant two year olds, and their true colors are finally showing through.

If they pull this stunt again, here's what I want to see: Republican Senators demanding closed door sessions to demand investigations into: Hillary Clinton's fundraising, Chuckie Schemer's DSCC's theft of Mike Steele's financial records, Kerry & Kennedy outing a REAL undercover CIA agent on the floor of a Senate hearing room, Chappaquidick, New Jersey governors and senators, and Barbara Boxer's existence. One a day between now and Christmas ought to do it.

We need to push our Congressmen to actually use the following information against the Left:

1. Remind the left that every single Democrat of note said in 1998 that Iraq's WMD posed a danger to the United States.

2. Remind the left that Clinton's Justice Department obtained a federal indictment of Osama bin Laden which stated that AQ had a deal with Iraq. They agreed not to attack Iraq in exchange for weapons development.

"Democrats claim victory."

Did they have a parade? Did they give each other medals? Was there a commemorative coin issued?

Most important, are they boneheaded enough to try this again tomorrow?
