Massachusetts loses population (and I do a parody)
Boston Globe ^

Posted on 12/23/2005 6:46:04 AM PST by Parody

Massachusetts lost residents for the second year in a row, new federal Census estimates show, underscoring an accelerating population shift from the Northeast to the South and West that threatens to erode the state's political and economic clout...

"Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver
Parody: "Take Me Forth, Any Road"

Almost Hades, Massachusetts;
Land of morons,
Canada-like winters.
Traffic's awful;
Worse than New Jersey's.
"Use" a public bathroom,
You'll catch STDs.

Any road, take me forth
Any place
Better than Massachusetts;
Maybe Georgia.
Take me forth, any road.

Awful memories, Boston Proper;
Must be crazy
Ever to have lived there.
Old and crusty
Cranky leftist guys;
Messed up like all moonbats,
Full of moonbat lies.

Any road, take me forth
Any place
Better than Massachusetts;
Iowa's a
Better home? Maybe so.

They talk of "choice"
Orwellian dread befalls me.
Rainbow flags remind me
That this place is so gay.
Try a random road;
I've got to leave this,
Got to find a better place to stay;
Anyway...

Any road, take me forth
Any place
Better than Massachusetts;
Michigan or
Ohio? Fine, let's go.
Take me forth, down any road.
Take me forth, down any road.

Good point. But does there not come a point where even the liberals realize they have really screwed things up?

I made a slight oversight -- Washington DC also lost population ( but the is DC a state ?). Louisiana surprisingly, inspite of Katrina, still registered a slight population growth.

<<<
I think that alot of the pop. loss in Mass and RI is connected to the lower birth rates among whites
>>>>

What about New York ? I can't speak for the Upstate folks, but the 8 million who live around the 5 burroaghs of NYC and Long Island are still majority white but NOT overwhelmingly white.

My guess is that there is a lot of White flight to other states, only to be replaced by immigrants from elsewhere. The immigrants coming to the USA still come to NY, but it is not as large a number as before ( heck, when there are other states you can go to, NY isn't the only place you set your foot on ). Hence, I'd guess that the flight interstate slightly outnumbered the immigrants coming to NYC.

(and I do a parody)

Curiously, this is also a fascinating insight on marriage in America:

"I do", a parody.

Property values are still going up in our section of MA. Maybe we should get out while we still have a chance. My only relatives live here though...

I understand your point, but alot of that "white flight" is a result of baby boomers retiring to the usual places, not necessarily young college graduates moving elsewhere. You may be right, though.

Perhaps you don't understand the entrenched nature of our solons . . . we're talking about a state where the former president of the Senate, William Bulger (brother of the serial killer/gang leader Whitey Bulger) gets a $200,000 + /year pension for all the wonderful work he did for our state. Our solons don't blink an eye, of course, because they're all waiting for a golden goose of their own.

In other words, our solons aren't interested in making anything better, because from where they sit, things are already pretty *&**&#%ing good!

LOL! Nope, they're too stupid to even realize that they screwed it up in the first place! :)

And remember, combine the retirement of baby boomers to lower birth rates now, and you see a loss in population.

Personally, I welcome it. I think one of the biggest, if not the biggest mistake we have made as a nation is overdevelopment combined with massive levels of immigration. I am generally pro-immigration, but I think we have our priorities wrong. Our gov't tends to favor cheap labor over skilled workers.

Actually a lot of it, in all the NE is folks moving south and west for better jobs, and Boomers cashing out in the overheated real estate markets and moving where its warmer and cheaper to retire.

"Actually a lot of it, in all the NE is folks moving south and west for better jobs, and Boomers cashing out in the overheated real estate markets and moving where its warmer and cheaper to retire."

These trends tend to reverse themselves, though. I have to believe that New England states will be doing all they can to encourage people to stay, if for no other reason then to maintain their political clout.

Oh they will try, but they won't win the battle... no more than the midwest was able to keep folks from moving south and west when the factories closed.

1000 to 2000 folks a week are moving to the TAMPA area right now, alone and its not going to change anytime soon.

Overvalued real estate, hard winters... lots of folks can cash out for huge paydays, go buy a nice house on the cheap for what they are used to, and live the rest of their lives comfortably just on the sale of their home, let alone whatever else they have saved up.

We had a tough time in Southern NH during the Presidential campaign knocking on doors and making phone calls. All these people move here from Mass wanting to escape the bureaucracy they were inundated with but don't realize they bring their politics with them.

It will be interesting as conservative and moderate citizens flee higher taxes, liberalism, and the socialism of NorthEast.
Will states like Massachusetts face the same fate as France?

Fudge packers don't produce children, and liberal abortionists slaughter liberal infants in their mother's wombs. These two legs of the left wing platform, the worship of the gay life style and religion of abortion will continue to decrease the population of the Blue Cities.

Intelligent people with morality have left and will leave the Bostons and Gay Friscos across the nation. This will be the road map for most Blue Cities in the next 10 to 20 years.

This will leave the elite limo Rat rulers of these Blue Cities with less political and economical power. Their welfare voters will become less educated and totally incapable of helping themselves and be fewer in numbers. The criminal gangs will control the city streets and the welfare voters.

The large fishwraps of these Blue Cities are seeing and will see massive drops in circulation rates and paid subscription rates. This will negatively impact their ad $'s and stock values. They will continue to drive Republicans away with with their daily hatred of GW, Republicans, morality, Christians and real Jews. Most big city fishwraps will close their doors during this decade, and be replaced by a national DNC fishwrap like the USA Today with some regional news and the continued hatred of the right.

The loss of good people in Boston, Detroit, Gay Frisco and other Blue cities is just the tip of the putrid Ice Berg these human cess pools have become.

That will cause massive layoffs of "journalists". I bet this will lead to a serious decrease in "journalism" majors and "journalism" departments as job opportunities decrease for "journalists".

It seems like other New England states, such as Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine are still increasing in population.

Those are just refugees from Massachusetts.
