A Few of FR's Finest...Every Day...01-12-06...Liberals, repeat after me: Justice Samuel Alito

Posted on 01/11/2006 11:02:25 PM PST by dutchess

A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Liberals, repeat after me: Justice Samuel Alito

by JohnHuang2

MSNBC's Tom Curry, in a piece entitled, Democrats see spying furor effect on Alito, writes that the "debate" over Bush's spying on al-Qaeda inside the U.S. will be the "dominate question" in this week's confirmation hearings for Judge Samuel Alito, Chimpy/Bu$hitler's nominee to replace Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, who abruptly announced her retirement from the bench last July after being bombarded by secretly transmitted subliminal commands via her cell phone, a new sinister NSA mind-control technique by Halliburton, patent pending. Or something like that. Why else would a 75-year-old Justice who wants to take care of her ailing spouse decide to step down, right?

"With these (NSA surveillance) revelations, I'd be surprised if it wasn't one of the most important topics," Curry quotes Sen. Russ Feingold as saying -- 'proof,' even before the hearings began, that the debate over Bush's spying on al-Qaeda would be the "dominate question" in the hearings. "Given the urgency of this issue and given how difficult these matters will be for the Supreme Court, this will be one of the principle tests for me . . ."
Feingold sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee, on the same side as Pat Leahy, Chuck Schumer, Joe Biden, Ted Kennedy -- true moral giants.
All 8 Democrats on the committee -- the 8 elite-os -- vow to vigorously question Alito.

Before the "debate" ignited last month by the New York Times's horrifying revelation that BUSH IS A SPY! -- a spy against al-Qaeda -- the debate over Alito's dissenting opinion in Planned Parenthood v. Casey was to be the "dominate question" in this week's hearings, and the one to take him down.
Before that, the debate over 'one-man, one-vote' was to be the "dominate question" in this week's hearings, and the one to sink his nomination.
Before that, the debate over affirmative action was to be the "dominate question," and the one to torpedo Alito.
Before that, the debate over Alito's membership in CAP (Concerned Alumni of Princeton) during the 18th century was to be the "dominate question" -- surely Robert Byrd will flay him for such past associations!
Then along came the New York Times' bombshell of Bush's invasion of al-Qaeda's privacy after 9/11 -- snooping on al-Qaeda's agents inside the U.S. without the proper court papers. Nothing shakes terrorists in their boots like a warrant.
Keeping things in perspective, the Times says Bush's spying on al-Qaeda without court papers just proves Bush wants to be King. For more proof of this, check out the White House Web site. It has a traffic counter. I'll never sleep again.
The leak of the NSA program by the New York Times triggered a leak investigation by the Justice Department. DOJ wants to know who the sources were. The only hitch being the New York Times doesn't use sources.
(Anyone who doubts life-after-death, I give you the New York Times. It's been dead for years, but that ghost keeps hanging around.)

So, after months of digging for dirt or juicy gossip on Alito from his former classmates in the 2nd Grade, the best libbies can come up with is that Alito's too soft on unborn babies and too tough on terrorists. Dems deny they're defending the terrorists, it's "civil rights" they're worried about.
Perhaps that's why liberals love Fidel Castro so much. Castro has murdered tens of thousands, jailed and tortured tens of thousands and raped and pillage a whole nation for 46 years. Castro -- that great civil libertarian.
Teddy Kennedy says he's worried about Judge "Alioto's" expansive view of presidential power. In a 2000 speech to the Federalist Society, "Alioto" indicated he adheres to the principle that it's within the President's authority to act like Commander-in-Chief. Even during wartime.
From his opening remarks at the hearings Monday, it became clear Sen. Kennedy intended to drown Alito in criticism over executive power. He failed. Maybe he was just rusty -- Kennedy hasn't drowned anyone in 37 years! Or maybe it's that children's book Kennedy's been busy writing, titled, My Senator and Me, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
Kennedy's office insists he was well-prepped for the hearings, thanks to help from his top aide, Jack Daniels.

But! Kennedy claimed the nominee "has not written one single opinion on the merits in favor of a person of color alleging race discrimination on the job: In 15 years on the bench, not one."
False. In Smith v. Davis (3rd Circuit, 2001), a grant of summary judgment by a lower court against a black probation officer's claim of race and disability discrimination was reversed. Voting to reverse was Judge AliOto.
In Goosby v. Johnson & Johnson Medical, Inc., (3rd Circuit, 2000), a district court's summary judgment against a black woman's claim of race and sex discrimination was reversed. Voting to reverse was Judge AliOto.
In Zubi v. AT&T Corp (3rd Circuit, 2000), "Judge Alito dissented from a ruling that a man alleging that he was fired because of his race could not bring his suit in federal court. Judge Alito ruled that a longer statute of limitations applied, which allowed the suit. The Supreme Court later validated Judge Alito's dissent." Source.

There was a time when attacks like these by scumbags like Kennedy would torpedo a nomination. Even before the hearings began. Kennedy would say the word, and the entire media smear machinery would get in gear. Now there's Fox News, the Internet and talk radio. Newspapers and the evening news broadcasts are a dying breed.
Judge Alito last week received the ABA's highest rating -- "well-qualified." A first-rate intellect, Alito was clearly out of place in that hearing room. As U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey in the late 80s, he pursued criminals, drug dealers, mobsters and the rest of the Democrat base.
Libbies, repeat after me: Justice Samuel Alito.

Anyway, that's...

My two cents

And, of course, there's the cutting, satirical commentary of JH2, which just keeps getting better and better! I smiled from beginning to end and LOL'd through much of it. It's great to have you back. You've been missed.

Sistah dutchess, your illustrations were perfect, as usual. What a great team you and JH2 make!

Alito will be confirmed and the DUmmies know it, they want it, because his judgeship (or whatever it's called) will simply be another reason for them to indulge in the whining, fingerpointing, blaspheming and downright hatred that they love to indulge in.

They dread having nothing to be AGAINST.

You two have built a masterpiece here! John deserves a Nobel Peace Prize or something, he wrote all of this before it even happened.

Your Name Is Safe

Read:
Revelation 2:12-17

I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it. —Revelation 2:17

Bible In One Year: Genesis 29-30; Matthew 9:1-17

cover There's an old saying, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me." It isn't true. Words can hurt us most of all.

In my case the hurtful word was "Skinny-bones," a name I was given in the 4th grade. I chuckle now when I think of it—no one would call me "Skinny-bones" these days. But back then the name wounded me. It became the way I thought of myself.

My father and mother, however, had the grace and wisdom to have given me another name, David—a name that means "beloved" in Hebrew. Despite the taunts I received on the schoolyard, I knew I was loved at home.

Perhaps you were one of those children whom people called names: "Dummy," "Idiot, "Fatso," or some other cruel epithet. Perhaps people still call you names or use your given name with contempt. I believe that God will one day give you a new name, a term of endearment known only by your heavenly Father and you (Revelation 2:17). His voice will convey tenderness, love, and acceptance. Your name is dear to Him.

As a little child once put it, "When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. Your name is safe in their mouth."

You—and your name—are safe with God. —David Roper

The Father knows your name—but more than that,
He knows your heart and all you think and do;
With Him your name is safe—that will not change—
But one day He will write your name anew. —Hess

Your name is precious to God.

Fantastic thread! How silly, smug immoral people are questioning Samuel Alito. Well, I like the sound of
Justice Samuel Alito. He will have the last laugh. :)
