February 8th, 2006 was another great day to be an American in the snarled byways of Tucson as I slowly drove toward the Military Recruiting Center on 2302 E. Speedway. The Tucson City government, paralyzed by indecision, bickering politicians, special interests and bizarre traffic theories, has long been unable to figure out how to get cars to travel efficiently through the sandy city. Although I had planned to be early, I arrived at 8:30 am.
Speaking of the bizarre, an unusual happenstance had occurred the week before, on a day I was unable to make the protest. It seems there was a character that had been showing up every once in a while, a strange person who declared himself a great "mediator" seeking to "bring both sides together." However, neither side seemed inclined to listen. I had not seen this person before but his actions during the previous week were told to me by impeccable sources.
It seemed that last week, apparently frustrated at not being paid attention to, the would-be negotiator sought to propagandize a pro American teenager who often supports the troops with parents at hand. However, the teenager's father Michael Lucero, noting the fellow's strange appearance and mannerisms, instructed him not to speak to his son who is a minor.
The unsuccessful arbitrator of peace and harmony became angrily aggressive, insisting he had the right to talk to anyone. Mr. Lucero firmly told him he did not have the right to speak to his minor son without his permission. This went back and forth until blows were about to be exchanged! At this point Tucson's finest sprang into action as the police officer designated to watch over the protest arrived at the immediate scene.
Law enforcement personnel have been assigned to monitor the protest on Wednesday mornings ever since an enraged peacenik womyn, shrieking with hate, had verbally abused and attacked an American flag waving military mom some months before. Since then things had been relatively quiet with only a few incidents. I certainly don't want to give the impression that protesting or standing up for the troops is a dangerous business. In fact, every week a diverse group of military moms and dads, patriotic men, retired gentlemen, teenagers, ladies and kids love to show their support for the troops in a fun family atmosphere.
And many moonbats are also very peaceful during the protest, despite their weird signs, dour faces and support for the bloody philosophy of Communism. For some reason, though, the few troublemakers often seem to pick on those whom they perceive to be the most vulnerable. This was the second time recently that Lucero's son had been targeted; it was two weeks before that "fighter guy" had challenged him to a duel of fisticuffs "out back." Now, I truly believe this teenager's exceptional intelligence and physical prowess would carry him successfully through physical or mental challenges such as these; however, no caring parent would ever sanction such actions. And Michael Lucero certainly didn't.
According to my source, the policeman was also telling the crazed negotiator that the law supported Lucero and that he had the right to deny him conversational access to his minor son. Incredibly, the mediocre mediator did not believe the law explaining law officer and argued vehemently until the officer ordered him to leave, calling him an "instigator" and noting previous trouble he had caused. The man then left, according to my sources.
But now he was back, wandering aimlessly about and glancing around as if very suspicious of everything and anything. Pat Sexton, known as the "General" of the Tucson troop support, engaged him in conversation, noting that it was "some mediator" who couldn't even leave someone's son alone. The man tried to claim that the police had lied about him, but Pat wasn't buying it. She also told him that she trusted only one Mediator, the Lord Jesus Christ, to Whom eventually every knee shall bow. At that, the man fled, waiting near me to cross the boulevard. I noticed he was wearing an "anti-war" T-shirt. So much for non-biased negotiation.
At this point, I unlimbered the new AmericanProtest.net megaphone and began to speak as the moonbat mediator waited for the massive wave of vehicles to clear.
"Neville Chamberlain was known as the 'great mediator,'" I artificially thundered. "But soon after he negotiated 'peace in our time' as he called it, Hitler broke the agreement and attacked Poland, beginning World War II. Neville Chamberlain resigned in disgrace. He was a total failure at peace negotiation, because he did not recognize the evil in Hitler. We can all learn from history. Or can we?"
Finally getting a break in the heavy traffic, the hairy diplomat dude scurried across the street. A short time later, after seeking out and arguing with the policeman some more, he left again and didn't return. I too crossed the street for some megaphone singing after it looked like we had enough people in front of the Recruiting Center. I carried "Say No to Communism" with flip side "Don't Believe Left-Wing Propaganda and Lies" to counter their signs across the street. When I got there Nina, wearing her Club Gitmo shirt and hat, could be heard from across the street (without a megaphone) as she implored God to bless America, our Troops, President Bush and Rush Limbaugh. This prayer is irksome to at least one moonbat, who wrote a letter to the editor of the Tucson Citizen complaining about it.
The left seemed to have a little more personnel this week, mustering at least ten against our approximate sixteen. Familiar friends like the Professor trundled by, although he did not seem very happy on such a fine day. Oh, well, I understand Communism to be very depressing, so perhaps that was the reason. "Fighter guy" did not make an appearance, but his old nemesis Jeff (Protest Warrior and Pro American) did show up for a time. He then had to leave early get to work. All around good guy Larry was in place, too. One liberal, whom I thought had regained his sense of morality when he had been forced to remove deceased troop photos from his poster months ago by their families, was finally back. A disappointment indeed. This time the moonbats were right on time and left after at least one full hour. No slacking today!
With only one "anti-war" protester still present, I plugged my MP3 player into the megaphone and played a stirring speech by President Bush. Startled, the liberal protester sneaked a peek behind her to make sure George Bush wasn't sneaking up on her. But she left before he finished his recorded oration. Too bad! I assembled with the other troop supporters as we ate a few cookies and made plans for the future. A few more pro Americans stopped by looking for moonbats to counter including a Marine Veteran whom had recently been in Iraq. All promised to come earlier next time. Mrs. Sexton had business card sized invitations to support the troops nicely printed; we all took some. Her sign and flag collection is impressive; no one need actually bring one! I finally left to drop off "Unhinged" by Michelle Malkin and get my copy of "The ACLU vs. America" by Alan Sears and Craig Osten from the reserve shelf of the local library. It had finally arrived. A happy morning for everyone as we all stood up for America!

Ping to Tucson Freep
Great job!
I really love the last shot. PERFECT!
Great job!
Way to go! Keep an eye on those peaceful folks. Peace isn't their goal.
...ever since an enraged peacenik womyn, shrieking with hate, had verbally abused and attacked an American flag waving military mom some months before.
That's pretty much par for the course. Peaceniks are violent. They are so "rightous" that they "feel" justified in using force to defend their cause.
Also, your "negotiator" is also typical of liberals. They feel entitled to your time. You MUST listen to them.
One other wacko liberal characteristic is that they put their hands on your body or signs. Jodie Evans (Raging Granny) did it to ELS in NYC, Allison Yorrra B (Code Pink) did it to bmwcyle in DC and Al Franken did it to me outside Moby's in Manhattan.
STOP THE LEFT WING VIOLENCE.
Liberals preach tolerance while prcticing fascism.
The dictionary definition of fascism states that allowing only one view while ruthless suppressing all others is fascist.
Liberals allow only one view while ruthless suppressing all others are fascist (letter to the editor, speech codes, etc).
Therefore, liberals are fascists.

Thank you for the ping \/\/ayne!
Isn't it peculiar how the "peace" crowd always seem to be miserable?
Thank you for being a voice for normal Americans. It isn't easy getting out there every week. Thank you & God bless.
Nice going Wayne.
Bump!
Amen! Priceless!
Beautiful! Thank you!
