Earlier this evening, our pastor and his wife were involved in a terrible auto accident near Rockford, Illinois. Carlton is 67, and Lily is 65. Neither have been in good health for quite some time, and Lily suffered a major stroke several months ago which has left her unable to feed or care for herself.
Both Carlton and Lily have suffered multiple fractures of the ribs and hips as a result of this accident. Carlton's blood pressure is dangerously low, and he is really not aware of his surroundings. As Lily cannot talk, no one is quite sure just yet of her level of awareness.
Compounding this problem is their financial state. The church has never seen fit to pay Carlton very much for his dedication and devotion, nor have they provided any sort of medical insurance for Carlton and Lily. My Dad has had to fight tooth-and-nail just to get minimal raises for Carlton over the years.
Their daughters, Carlene and Joanna, have been doing their best to care for their parents, but neither of them are in good health either...Joanna had a heart attack a few years ago.
Would you please pray for miraculous healing for these two very precious souls? Joanna needs prayer support also, as she was driving at the time they were broadsided, and feels very guilty.
Thank you all so very much!
Some things have happened to us that make me pretty sure that my husband's grandfather - a Methodist minister and a true saint - has been interceding for us at the Throne.
I sure hope he understands why we became Catholic . . . he didn't seem to mind that we were Episcopalian, and he was always great friends with the local Catholic priest and the Mormon elders here . . .
May the Lord continue to bless this fine family.
Thank you for the update. I'm glad to hear things are going so well for the pastor.
So sorry to hear of Lily's death. May the Lord continue to be with Pastor Easley.
His mind is clear and sharp, and does not seem to have any loss of mobility!

Our God is an awesome God! Power of prayer.
Thankyou for your update Aracelis. Pastor Easley sounds like he is doing very well now. I will keep them in my prayers.
What a loving and lovely update Aracellis.
Thank you FRiend.
Thanks for letting us know.
I'll be adding my prayers for this sweet couple and their daughters. Oh, how sad! :(
PRAISE GOD!!! Thank you for the update!
Thank you Lord for all your strength!
Thank you Aracelis for the update.
Pastor seems to be in good health, still a bit bruised and sore, but his ribs are healing and otherwise seems in great shape for what hes been through and all this only a few weeks after the doctors thought that he wasnt going to make it.
I cannot tell you how much your prayers have meant to Pastor and his family nor how grateful I am for your kind and loving support for people you do not know. There has been an outpouring of financial support as well from Freepers and Lurkers all over the world, which has just amazed all of us beyond words. The cards and letters sent have cheered Pastor more than I can say. I am forever indebted to all of you.
May our great and compassionate Lord watch over each of you and your loved ones all the days of your lives, and repay you a thousand-fold for your help and love
Very good news! Thanks for the update!
Thank you for the update, it's wonderful news! It does my heart good to know that so many of us FReepers had a small part in blessing him. May he continue to fully recover and have his peace and joy restored through friends like you, Aracelis!
May the Lord continue to be with your Pastor through out his healing and the work he still has to do.
Wonderful, just wonderful!
Thank you Lord. Strength for this family Lord in this time of loss. May your church surround and support the Pastor, Lord. Amen.
Thank you for letting us know. I hope his heart will be comforted in the loss of his wife. I will continue to pray.
Thank you for the good news update. May the good Lord keep a healing hand on him and bring him peace over the loss of his wife
