Israel is said to have operatives in Iran who are trying to locate the country’s secret uranium enrichment sites, according to the UK-based Sunday Times.

An Israeli intelligence source told the paper that several suspected sites were located last year but that “there must be more.”

According to the report, Israeli sources say the agents are operating from a base in northern Iraq and are guarded by Israeli soldiers with the approval of the Americans.

Iran insists its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes. However, the international community has been scrutinizing Iran since 2002 and suspects Iran is covertly manufacturing a nuclear bomb.

Israel is particularly concerned that Iran is building a nuclear bomb, as Tehran has the technology to deliver warheads to Israel. These concerns have been accentuated by comments made recently by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadi Nejad that Israel should be “wiped off the map.”

Officials of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are meeting on Monday to discuss referring Iran to the United Nations Security Council for possible sanctions over its nuclear program.

Probably not true, but anything to increase the existing paranoia of the Iranian regime is always useful.

Oh really, and to think all along I was under the impression that Iran just wants nuclear power because of the concerning financial woe's that they may encounter because of their depending upon Middle East oil.....

It doesn't take a brick across the head of us nonpolitical one's to understand the directive of Iran.

I've known about Israeli special forces in Iran for more than a year and a half. What is interesting to me, now, is that the Americans are cooperating with the Israelis.

Question: Does anyone think Iran has any idea what's about to happen to them?

Do we really need to confirm ANYTHING about this story? If it's true, these poor guys just got compromised, and if not, then the damn Iranians are going to be alert for their insertion. Either way, I am annoyed....
