WEEK 13 - Olney, MD., 03-25-06: Operation Infinite FReep, PICTURE HEAVY FROM A FREEPERS' VIEW
March 28,2006 | Trooprally

Posted on 03/28/2006 7:16:23 PM PST by trooprally

iMacMan did his wonders with his camera today by taking pictures of the passing cars from the FReepers point of view.

BELOW: The highlight of this is the car of young supporters who circled around 2 times to cheer us on.
TOP LEFT: First pass by;
TOP RIGHT: They turned around and came back - Trooprally waving to them;
MIDDLE: Close up of car;
BOTTOM: They turned around again before heading east on MD Rte. 108

Four FReepers/Lurkers were in attendance: iMacMan, [Mrs] Trooprally, myself, and local Lurker Bill.

The moonbats had eleven for about a half hour, then 3 of them left. Ten minutes later another left. At 4:30 all but two left. Waveman and a lone moonbat on the southeast corner stayed til almost 5 PM.

The teens from last week did not return. We had hoped they would. We did get the word to several drivers about our Saturday rally. They stopped for the red light, rolled down their windows and thanked us. That's when we told them about the FReep. We'll see if any of them come out.

Two cars flipped us the one finger salute and several shook their heads in disdain. But the honks from cars and waves from the Metro bus drivers always warm the heart. One bus passenger also waved to us.

The below pics are all by iMacMan from a FReeper's VIEW. Like them nice shiney cars? I personally like the waves and thumbs up. iMacMan spotted several that he would like to have.

BELOW: A TwoFer

BELOW: Another TwoFer

BELOW: Same car as above but now passenger has two thumbs up!!

BELOW: Call the company on the van - Tell them you saw them on FR and ask about a discount - Tell them Trooprally sent you. See how fast they hang up.

The red banner held up to the brisk breeze today. It bent, it flipped around, but the twine tie downs held. But the weather was warm enough that the breeze did not create a severe wind chill. Just hard to light my cigars.

"Thanks for all your hard work getting the AAR posted"

I'm actually finding some short cuts to help. The one for this AAR concerning transferring pictures probably saved an hour.

iMacMan had to hold a sign in one hand while his other hand held the camera always at the ready. Towards the end of the FReep, [Mrs] T gave him a smaller sign because he was getting sore holding the larger sign. iMacMan took 150 pics that day just to get the ones that were posted.

Great report! And great pics too! Where'd all those floating green arrows come from? Can you pick those up at Walmart?

Great pics. In a couple of the pics, there is a moonbat holding up a sign that reads "2323." What is that suppose to mean?

It's a death count sign celebrating how many troops have died in the Iraqi war, part of their psych-ops plan to demoralize the American people and the troops. I have one myself showing that Marxist regimes killed 148 million people in the 20th century while war killed about 35 million - it sure demoralizes them!

For any one that knows history, their death count actually shows how skilled our troops have become since no other country can complete a military action like that and lose so few.

One moonbat was actually wearing a "2000 dead" sandwich sign (when it reached that number they were so happy for some reason) when I told her the commie/war comparison numbers. Deep in justification mode, she told me that the mathmatics of killing didn't matter but was shocked when I pointed to her sign and remarked that it seemed to matter to her since she was wearing a sign with numbers.

Thanks for the thanks! I just got tired of taking pictures of the same old hippies on the opposite side. Maybe they could bring some new CUTE hippies…

Anyway, there were actually 208 pictures altogether! ALL were either honkers or wavers or yellers. It was just that most had their windows rolled up and the glare was just too harsh to see anything inside the cars. I’ll try this again sometime between cold winter and hot summer when the windows are more likely to be down.

Yes, BufordP, the arrows came from Walmart -- I have some red ones too!

I hope the following doesn’t constitute “hijacking” but it has to do with the 2323 sign.

I ran across a table of military deaths (with causes) for the years 1980 – 2004 on FR last week. Some of it may surprise you -- it did me.

Here's a link to the table's .pdf file:

Military Deaths Table

Here's who was President in the years listed

Carter - 1980 (the last year of his term)
Reagan - 1981 - 1988
George HW Bush - 1989 - 1992
Clinton - 1993 - 2000
George W Bush - 2001 - 2004

I converted the .pdf to a spreadsheet and analyzed it to derive the following:

The average number of deaths per year for that 25-year period is 1540. The average per year for GW Bush is 1297. What's more the fraction of these deaths that are ACCIDENTAL averaged over 50%! (56% to be precise) The average total military over these years was around 2,000,000 with an average death rate of 0.079% (deaths/man).

Here're the yearly averages for the total deaths and each sub-category over each President's years covered in the table listed in order of decreasing total deaths (needs to be in a fixed spacing font to line up properly):

............total...acc...host....hom....ill....pend.....self.infl.....terrorist...undet.
Carter......2392...1556....174....419....231.......1.........11
Reagan......2150...1332.....64....249....327.....128.........58...........20
GHW Bush....1556....872.....88....175....268.....121.........33
GW Bush.....1297....527....276.....45....215......47........156...........26..........21
Clinton......938....494.....47....160....153......71.........12...........14
A couple of observations:

Ranking them by accidental deaths would give the same result. GW Bush's average death rate of 276 due to hostile action is the highest, followed by Carter at 174 (just for the one year covered). Death by homicide for GW Bush is BY FAR the lowest of all of them. But the self-inflicted rate is by far the highest for him. I would like to know more about both of these numbers.

It'd also be interesting to know the accidental and illness death rates for similar-age civilian folks.

That's the number of soldiers killed in Iraq from ALL reasons. They bloated the figure to include ALL so that they can get to their magically numbers to through a big protest.

I believe that the actual killed in combat if 1800 - 1900. Someone may have the true number.
