That is very interesting. Again we see in this article that you just posted that the term "SPECIAL AMMUNITION" is a substitute for "CHEMICAL WEAPONS".

I think that the specialized vehicles to transfer the Special Ammuntion may have be heavy load trucks with some special features.

I checked out the timeline because that occured to me when I saw this. The mustard gas shells were destroyed late feb early march. This does not appear to be a batch that was handed over to the UN. It does not fit in the timeline. More at http://rayrobison.typepad.com/ray_robison/2006/04/iraq_document_o.html

Yep, with the source attributable to an Iraqi military member.

Just trying to come up with some background and corroborating information. You don't need to prove anything to me and many others, but let's face it. To a lotta folks who don't speak Arabic you're just some guy on a conservative forum. :-) So the more of your translations we can tie to known info, the better.

You're welcome, but mine isn't the valuable part. :-) When you come down to D.C. to brief the President and Sec. Rumsfeld, I'll buy you a steak dinner!

The war started on March 19, 2003. Did the Iraqis have time to move this stuff before we got there?

Thank you, my friend. You are doing the hard part and the brave part by translating these letters and posting them.

The rest of us can do our minor role in helping to get the word out re your translations.

That is very possible. They had at least three days to do it.

" It's no surprise that Saddam may have still had some left and that the UN inspectors did not get them all."
Remember, as our units where advancing on Baghdad, Saddam per L/MSM had TV reports, quick statement, not meant as analysis at that point, simply relaying news coming out of Iraq, to use bio/chem weapons against advancing US forces.
I am not trying to push the point, but perhaps they had enough stuff left at some of the special bunker areas, and Saddam gave permission for it's use against the invaders. If one considers the time line of this document, March 16 till April 14 2003.
It coincides with the opening days of the air bombardment of Baghdad and ends with the last day of official combat in Iraq where the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) had crossed the Iraq/Kuwait border to begin stability and support operations in Iraq.
Thanks again jveritas for your continued willingness to translate these documents.

Just playing devil's advocate, I think I remembered reading that Iraqi generals, even when the war was afoot, kept waiting for and expecting chemical weapons were going to be deployed to them.

I know I heard an interview with an Iraqi soldier of some rank involved in the defense of Baghdad who said that his unit didn't have chemical weapons, but that he was told the unit next to him did.

It's possible that to get his soldiers to stand in place, Saddam was issuing orders about non-existent weapons to convince his troops and their commanders that the WMD were on the way and would give them the ability to fight the Americans.

While I continue to believe that jveritas is finding evidence of the WMD and I continue to believe it will ultimately point east to Syria, I think it's necessary for the purpose of debate to look at these documents from the POV that there were no WMD (ie. if he didn't have WMD, why did he produce documents saying he did).
