You don't believe in the Constitution, Spiff?

You want to live in a theocracy, do you?

(In other words, how far beyond reason and American principles can your disdain for the President carry you??)

Maybe it would be an idea to include in school text books the contributions of praying people...just an idea.

For the record, I did not hit the abuse button on this. I just thought it was funny.

In light of his dismal performance over the last couple years I'm sure Bush has inspired a fair share of prayer over the future of this country.

I thank God DAILY for the gift of great leadership and integrity HE has given us in President Bush. Rarely, if ever, has this country had such a man of faith and conviction, and true principle in the White House.

Oh........btw, welcome to Free Republic. Just yesterday, eh? How coincidental............

There is no question to anyone who knows the man that George W. Bush is a truly born-again disciple of Jesus Christ, and a man of faith.

It is very, very dangerous to get your political views mixed in with the things of God, Stony. Be careful.

What, notice that he made a true statement? I noticed.

One thing I like about Bush is his deep Christian faith.

Which, forgive me for saying, always seems to get "deeper" when he runs into trouble with the "base". To paraphrase an old Elvis song: "A little less prayin' and a little more action"!

"I'm sure Bush has inspired a fair share of prayer over the future of this country"

Exactly. I'm all for prayer, but Bush needs to put his bible down and start enforcing the laws of this country. He took an oath to up hold the law and he has failed in that oath.

That statement is categorically untrue, and you know it.

Critiquing a person's faith with false accusations reveals much about you, pawdoggie.

Another brand newbie here to pile on against the President.

Perhaps you should go back where you came from..........

I have defended Bush in the past, and still do for the most part. Not everyone agrees with everything any president does. I'm sorry you feel the way you do, but do not ask people to speak only what you want to hear. Prayer alone is not going to solve the problems facing this nation. He is our leader, not our religious leader. The Constitution is clear about separation of church and state. I however, do respect your view on this and other topics.

I never said anything remotely similar to this, VOAT.

As for your negative comments about the President as a man of God, you need to look at our past Presidents and see what they've said about faith. You sound like you've been listening to a very far leftist interpretation of the Constitution, and not reading what the document actually says (no surprise to me).

You might find it instructive as you seek to learn the truth about this country, and the leader God has given us to guide us through difficult days.
