Bush will be gone in about 900 days. Best be worrying about how to get a conservative elected to replace him.
Not even. The Minutemen can't even rouse more than a few hundred people at their events.
I think there is a difference between holding their feet to the fire and abandoning them when the only real option will be to put blatant socialists in their place.
I was reminded of that today when I saw Madeleine Albright on Neil Cavuto's show hawking her new piece of crap book. She suggested we sit down and chat with the kook in Iran, and wondered aloud whether the letter Adinnerjacket sent Bush might be constructive. It was surreal--watching someone in total denial of what kind of enemy we're facing in the War on Terror.
I see only two possibilities: an ofttimes flawed Republican party or a pacifist, socialist, infanticidal, tax-raising anti-capitalist Democrat party. I see the Democrat leadership like a kind of perverted Politburo; they fight a bit amongst themselves, but are united in the desire to dictate the lives of ordinary citizens.
To me, as someone who grew up as a liberal and was one until the early 90s, the choice is clear: Republicans are better than Democrats. Hands down.
Watch the courts. When the liberal activists have been replaced with constitutionalists, the liberals will have lost their greatest weapon.
Thank you for the great piece. I know I and everyone on this site agree with everything you said but it's good to be reminded every now and then. It brings back to the forefront just exactly what is most important to us, fighting and prevailing over socialism and liberalism. With the advances we have made in the last few years, we can't afford to give ground in these upcoming elections.
Thanks again Mr. Robinson and to you wagglebee for the ping.
Maybe 2 - six year terms for Senators and 3 - four year terms for Representatives.
Right now it seems like the first thing a politician does after being elected is establish a re-election committee and start fundraising.
Serving the people ends up being secondary.
Hopefully, it will translate into a change in the abortion laws soon, and other moral issues. A case is coming before the SC in a couple of months. Lou Engle sent out this bulletin recently:
This not our fathers' Republican Party anymore.
We Conservatives must hold Republican feet to the fire if we ever hope to have influence. Even if it means having to suffer another Carter to enjoy another Reagan.
I guess you may be right.
But, darn it, there are a lot of us 'common sense folks' out here who are getting mighty flustered at what we're seeing and hearing from the guys we fought for.
We were so proud that our hard work made a difference in 2000 and 2004.
And we feel like we're being pushed aside in favor of those who did nothing to help our cause.
I had high hopes that, with a second term, President Bush would use his "political capital" to further the conservative agenda.
IMHO, he has not. And that hurts me personally.
I support my Commander-in-Chief. I will never vote for a Democrat. But I can't help but wonder if I'm doing the right thing by pulling the lever for a RINO.
That doesn't make sense--IIRC, Doe v. Bolton was decided the same day as Roe.

Agreed.
No way Jose. Hold the line.
Jim, I am holding the line. Why can't the party?
I don't speak for the party, just myself.
I too agree, as a longtime Freeper I cannot understand why we who are not fighting this administration, but rather the issue of illegal immigration , that we are allowed to be harangued, bated, insulted, called names, and this happens on every thread to the point of stalking. Yes stalking.
I am not a drama queen, I've minded my p's and q's like a good Freeper citizen, yet there are a handful + here that act like vigilantes. I cannot phantom why some Freeper's have all this power and other's are banned/suspended for what is seemingly nothing in comparison to this.
When I first signed up here, I admired you beyond belief Jim. I spread your story far and wide. I felt terrible that financially I am the middle America that has been hit hard and couldn't contribute to FR. I mean the very name of your home Jim, is Free Republic, yet I've had to defend myself against Freeper's I do not even know. That no matter how repeatedly I've posted your rules and asked nice they persist on acting juvenile and inciteful, attempting at every turn to create chaos and see one of us removed.
Jim, you went by yourself all the way to DC for what you believed in and that is all we are doing, fighting to protect this country. The war is here and that war is hard enough to fight with Congress, but to try and fight it right here, at our homebase and be belittled and badgered at every turn, JR why is that allowed?
I appreciate that, and I appreciate Free Republic.
God bless you, and every Patriot here.
Well, I've been called every name in the book and have had people wishing to see me writhing in pain on a cold dank cell floor for the rest of my life and or to be hung from the trees as a quisling. And those are just examples of what's been posted publicly. I don't publish many of the hateful email messages I receive.
There's no doubt in my mind that you are a true American patriot.
I'll keep you in my prayers tonight.
People have posted that about you here and been allowed to stay?!
Were they regular's, longtime Freeper's, was it repeated and did they stalk you?
