Roe attorney: Use abortion to 'eliminate poor'

In unearthed letter urged President-elect Clinton to 'reform' country

A letter to Bill Clinton written by the co-counsel who successfully argued the Roe v. Wade decision urged the then-president-elect to "eliminate the barely educated, unhealthy and poor segment of our country" by liberalizing abortion laws. Ron Weddington, who with his wife Sarah Weddington represented "Jane Roe," sent the four-page letter to President Clinton's transition team before Clinton took office in January 1993.

The missive turned up in an exhibit put together by the watchdog legal group Judicial Watch, which has been researching the Clinton administration's policy on the abortion drug RU-486, notes James Taranto in the Wall Street Journal's Best of the Web.

Weddington qualified his statement, saying, "No, I'm not advocating some sort of mass extinction of these unfortunate people. Crime, drugs and disease are already doing that. The problem is that their numbers are not only replaced but increased by the birth of millions of babies to people who can't afford to have babies.

"There, I've said it. It's what we all know is true, but we only whisper it, because as liberals who believe in individual rights, we view any program which might treat the disadvantaged differently as discriminatory, mean-spirited and ... well ... Republican

I don't have a source but other than the 'engagiging personality' part is sounds like Jesse Jackson to a "T".

Burp.
Yawn.
WW-D?
I've had better things to do this evening than to read 240+ post abortion threads. Give me the highlights. No, on second thought, don't. I wouldn't bother to read it.

He points to President Clinton and his soon-to-be first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton as the "perfect example."

"Could either of you have gone to law school and achieved anything close to what you have if you had three or four or more children before you were 20?" he asked. "No!

And that's the way many in the pro-"choice" movement wants it to be! Keep women who are parents from achieving, but do not treat men who are parent the same ... in other words, support the status quo.

Oh how progressive.

No she was not. Margaret Sange opposed abortion, a fact that Planned Parenthood likes to keep hidden in addition to the fact that she was a Eugenicist.

Eugenics and the unfit.

Read the book "War against the weak" by Edmund Black a while ago. Black is a (or was) a dyed in the wool liberal, but even he was shocked at who was the leaders in the American Eugenic movement. Long before the holocaust become a horrid passage in a history book, many looked at the eugenic killings of the "life unworthy of life" going on in Germany and Russia as a great good and righteous thing.

Seems like all the bad ideas are new again.

And Conservatives are supposed to be the ones that hate the poor? These people are showing who they are and why they believe what they believe.

"I'd crawl on my knees over broken glass to pull the lever for a Republican to keep these evil monsters (Democrats) away from the levers of power."

Well worth repeating...wish I could put it on billboards.

You're quite welcome. I really had no idea this thing would get so big. (I said that to my wife once. Naturally she took all the credit. LOL)

I rarely post articles any more since the ones I do post usually don't get many comments. Imagine my suprise at logging on today and seeing 200 plus posts.

I guess this one struck a nerve. I know it did with me.

Thanks for the kind words.

I recently saw the movie "Silent Hill." Ms. Sanger reminds me of the villian in that movie, nuts and murderous.

Margaret Sanger, the patron saint of abortion and eugenics, was an avowed racialist to boot..

"eliminate the barely educated, unhealthy and poor segment of our country"

And replace it with "undocumented" immigrants.

Amen, Jim.

Extremely. And the death of the villian is something I sincerely hope that Sanger suffers in hell every day.
