Cultural Racism:
Those aspects of society that overtly and covertly attribute value and normality to white people and Whiteness, and devalue, stereotype, and label people of color as “other”, different, less than, or render them invisible. Examples of these norms include defining white skin tones as nude or flesh colored, having a future time orientation, emphasizing individualism as opposed to a more collective ideology, defining one form of English as standard, and identifying only Whites as great writers or composers.

Emphasizing individualism over a collective ideology is now racist? And this isn't some silly blogger or even newspaper editorialist, this is the official policy of the public school system of a major US city.
Good thing that Seattle has a low birth rate. But what in the world are they doing at these schools?
And what is a future time orientation? Does this mean that it's racist to think about the future?

I read stuff like this from around the country and wonder how us Southerners got branded as "backwards".
This also flat out states that only white people are racist.
I'm a teacher. I will fight this crap with every fiber of my being. You CAN'T define racism by attacking, alienating, and ostracizing people according to race. I refuse to change my cultural attitudes about individual rights; the idea that humanity is one family; the presentation of the achievements of people WITHOUT regard to race, ethnicity, and religion; and I will never, ever, ever surrender myself to the "collective."
This is the one time in my teaching career when I am glad to have tenure.
The other thing I'm pleased with is my decision to move out of the Pacific Northwest. The garden there was fabulous, but the culture was decadent beyond belief.
I'll be on the lookout for this b*llsh*t appearing here in my own school district.

Why, everyone knows that only Whites can be racist! I can't speak to future thinking except maybe it involves making goals for the future as opposed to living in the moment. I also notice the conflation of race and culture. And if you notice different races, you are racist but if you don't notice different races (i.e. render them invisible), you are also racist. Can't win if you are White unless you voluntarily rip yourself and your own culture to shreds to make others feel better. What an illogical and racist doctrine to foist on kids.
What are they doing in these schools you ask? Closing them, that's what. The Seattle Public schools have been a joke for 20 years and it is now starting to fall in on itself.

Good lord! Thank goodness my (future) children will never be public schooled. Color me racist if I believe in proper grammar. Color me racist if I want my children to be individuals. And color me racist for thinking about the future.
Working in this ridiculous city is sure fun for a few laughs though! These people are absolutely insane!! And in a part of the country where blacks are not as prevalent (I grew up in NC with a much larger black population), their focus on racism makes me laugh. Here in Seattle, you often hear the comment that if you are white, you are racist, you just don't know it. And they want to you to go to classes to learn just how racist you are.

The Govmint should be forced out of providing schooling for children. Every govmint eventually tries to collectivize and en-serf.
I suspect it involves things like trying to anticipate the consequences of one's actions. That is clearly a no-no, since in a multi-culture collective utopia, it is the state, not the individual, that is tasked deal with the consequences of the individual's actions.
