Being gay 'starts in the womb'
The Telegraph ^ | 06/27/2006 | Roger Highfield

Posted on 06/26/2006 8:24:33 PM PDT by managusta

Boys with a number of elder brothers are more likely to grow up to be gay than boys with relatively fewer older brothers, younger brothers or sisters of any age - but is not the result of upbringing, says a study published today.

For each additional older brother, a boy's chance of being homosexual increases by a third, it says.

Prof Anthony Bogaert, at Brock University, in St Catherine's, Canada, says his research provides strong evidence that sexual orientation may be the result of biological processes in the womb.

"If you have a biological brother, and you never even lived with that biological brother, this leads to a higher likelihood of male homosexuality," said Prof Bogaert.

He says one possible explanation is that sexual orientation is forged in the womb as a result of a pregnant mother's immune reaction to her male sons. Her body builds up antibodies to male-specific molecules from past pregnancies that affect the developing brain of her foetus, shifting its sexual orientation.

The findings were greeted with caution yesterday by Prof Roger Short, an expert in sexual orientation at the Melbourne Royal Women's Hospital and the University of Melbourne, who said there was "much more likely to be a sociological explanation"

"So does it mean that it is not genetic?"

They have searched for a genetic link for years with little success (although you wouldn't know it if you listen to the MSM or the many ignorant layman activists). Since they had no luck with their attempts at finding a genetic cause, they are now looking to biological developmental causes.

These people have a serious problem with wishful thinking, they assumed people were "born that way" long before they even bothored to conduct research. Because of this, expect them to try something else when their little "womb theory" doesn't pan out.

...sexual orientation is forged in the womb as a result of a pregnant mother's immune reaction to her male sons...

It is amazing the pretzels human beings will twist themselves into to make okay and normal that which is sin and rebellion against God.

God does not call a behavior an abomination then create people to practice the abomination.

And it doesn't matter how many "studies" men do to justify their own base, disgusting perversion, it is still an abomination in the eyes of God and will still be an abomination when the people who engage in the behavior come to the end of their lives and then have to stand before Him.

Sometimes "studies" are too stupid to address.

Really now, what scientific data is there in the article to discuss??

Considering the elite psychological community has declared the homosexual disorder normal without ANY scientific basis one must wonder why this purely psychological theory premised in subjective declarations exists let alone is pursued by psychologists seeking physical biological causes YET to be found?

They reject an extra-material or spiritual explanation for homosexuality a priori since they're dogmatic materialists.

For them, no proof of their theory is necessary and no evidence can exist for any other theory.

One MORE study that may or may NOT (but shows evidence) that being gay is natural? How many is that in the past 20-30 years?

Bahhhhh-loney!

The other half get sucked into it later in life.

Is this statement intentional?

So is there a biological test for it yet? Can a pregnancy test dtermine whether or not the child will be gay? Will the Gay Lobby suddenly join the Anti-abortion Lobby?

It stands to reason that if there are genetic markers, then there can be genetic testing. It also stands to reason that many high-brow liberals who think it's swell that other people have gay babies wouldn't want to be bothered with a gay baby of their own, so . . .

Thanks to Roe v. Wade, mothers can cure homosexuality then, by aborting the third or fourth boy. No problemo. I'm sure the homosexual lobby understands "freedom of choice".
I rather doubt that this theory will hold up, since I know very few families these days with that many children. I suppose we should see a drastic decrease in the male homosexual population with the current families of one or two children.

I acknowledge that nobody is perfect. All I'm saying is that the rectum was not designed to accept an erect penis. No room there.

A woman can be trapped in a man's body and vice versa.

Prison Counsellor: Why do you say you feel "trapped" in a man's body?
"Trapped" Convict: Well, sometimes I get them menstrual cramps real hard.

Anthony Bogaert is an associate professor at Brock University in Ontario.

A modern day Kinsey, this fellow. And I say that with all the worst possible connotations.

Wait, just a second my friend. If the body is *all there is* then it is impossible for a woman to be trapped in a man's body. Someone in a man's body is *necessarily* a man--if we want to be pure little materialists about it.

Up until sometime in the early 1970s the American Psychological Association >DID< include homosexuality as a disorder in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders – then all of a sudden ->POOF<- it wasn’t a disorder anymore. Well, shazaaam and golllleeee!

The APA is the Godfather of junk science.

I do think, based on the gays I've known, that some of them are born that way. Almost all will say that they always knew it...and many wish they weren't gay.

Yes, I thought this too. Until I started reading the testimonies of ex-gays, and it became apparent to me:

What did they always know? In other words, they remember being "different" from birth but parse their words carefully and you will find that that that awareness never reached the level of same-sex attraction. The "differentness" is never ever sexualized until puberty (which stands to reason....why should homosexuals be sexually aware before human beings in general are?

IMHO, gays conflate this feeling of "differentness" into their later homosexuality as if they were the same thing.
