Demonstrators waved signs and flags to express their views on the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah on Friday afternoon at Shaw and Blackstone avenues in Fresno.
About 50 people gathered at 5:30 p.m. at one corner of the intersection to support Israel. About 15 people were at the other side of the street to protest Israel's military campaign in Lebanon.

Just making sure that I pinged you for photos. There are a lot of good ones, plus this moving post and photos by Sabra 4 Bush.
We'll see you at the next one! Thanks!
Thanks Doc. But considering all that you have done, this is an "I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy" moment for me. :)
If you want your photo on the web, I have a bunch of them from the Stand With Israel Rally. You are featured prominently! I wish I knew how to post them.
Thank you for the lovely note. I added the non-Freepers to the thread because you guys are incredibly effective in educating my community about the work to be done. I guess all those years supporting liberals have taken their toll. But old dogs CAN learn new tricks, and you and the Free Republic crew are teaching us. Here's another version of my favorite joke:
Q. What's the difference between Sabra 4 Bush and a Rottweiler?
A. Eventually, the Rottweiler lets go.
Arf!
LOL ..... great one.
Thanks, Sabra. I hope some of the people there last night will join us in the future. It was such a great feeling to see so many standing tall and united on our corner last night.
You have freepmail. If it doesn't make sense let me know. :)
It is great to see freepers get out. Too many just sit and type.
I always hope to see more Freepers at our monthly Freeps. Sometimes I too can't make it. I went through a couple of months where I just couldn't get there. But I try, I do try.
I always hope for more to show up. While I may experience a small disappointment when they don't, I am still glad that they are members of FreeRepublic. I always try to keep that in mind, and I hope that they are regular donors.
Yes but I always say, money is the easy part. Standing in the cold during snow in the winter, that is the hard part.
Yeah, I was talking with Amy about that. Next winter I will bring out some portable propane heaters. I've used them at sports events, and they keep you relative comfortable.
We layer our clothes and wool socks are king.
Nahhhh, it is standing in the 100+ temps with the sun beating down on you that is harder for some. I'm still looking for the a/c attachment for my clothes. ;*)
Zec 12:6 In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.

Thanks for the great work...used to live in Fresno, attended FSU after my Navy career at NAS Lemoore. One of my professors was a liberal named Bob Merrill...he often writes leftist letters to Bee...ever heard of him?
Thank you. And thank you for your service to our great country.
Do you ever get back to Fresno? If so, yell. Depending on how much notice we may be able to have a rally for our troops.
I've heard the name of Bob Merrill, but really couldn't identify him. I asked my son and he said Bob Merrill was teaching at FSU when he was there. He said he taught a geology class. FSU, like many colleges, has plenty of leftist liberals professors.
Thank you...I had a great career...maintained F-14s (greatest fighter jet the Navy has ever flown) for half my career, the other the F/A-18 Hornet...3 carriers, 17 different countries port-of-calls...but NOWHERE is as good a port-of-call as the USA!
I will keep that rally in mind...would be nice to pass thru just when you are having a rally. We have them up here in Port Angeles in March (Op Iraqi Freedom anniversary) & on or about 9/11. I organize 'em for the CCRP (Clallam County Republican Party).
Yep, Merrill teaches geology...I think he is or getting close to retirement...he's O.K...he never brought politics to the classroom, and was a very good Geology prof...but I guess he writes some real zingers in the Bee!
At least FSU is somewhat conservative compared to Evergreen College (hippie U) up here!
