What a great week to be in Olney. Hot & humid, but the overcast kept the sun from baking us. And all the honks and waves were for us. This week is the third week we have occupied the moonbats corner. The Rapid Transformation Force was not deployed this Saturday.
We didn't have our This Corner Under New Patriotic Management or the Peaceniks Have Cut and Run signs, so we didn't get any obscene cat calls or one finger salutes. We enjoy them so much though, we'll have the signs next week. We don't want the peaceniks getting any more complacently sloppy than they already are.
Roll call this week included regulars Cindy_True_Supporter (CTS), [Mrs] Trooprally ([Mrs] T), Lurker Bill and myself, [Mr] T, along with Legionnaires Frank and Halsey, both Marines who served in Korea
All pics are by [Mrs] T.
BELOW LEFT: Legionnaires Frank and Halsey. BELOW RIGHT: CTS, who hung our signs over the politicians signs. This saved us having to break out our wire sign holders.
BELOW: Lurker Bill and I once again setting up on the moonbats previously held corner.
BELOW: Myself, with Lurker Bill doing his Victory Dance.
This week, while not getting any obscene cat calls, we did have several passerby stop and talk to us.
One guy, after a brief conversation, asked for an American flag for his daughter's Girl Scout Troop. We gave him two. Another guy asked for a flag. He identified himself by showing his Army ID, and saying that he was a Granada vet.
BELOW: CTS taking to another passerby who is young and had a typical moonbat attitude. She originally read our signs and walked past us. But she came back and started talking to CTS. Big Mistake. She started off the conversation by saying we should be spending the War against Islam-fascist money in the U.S., on schools, teachers and other things. CTS gave her examples of school systems that spend thousands on students with no results. CTS's favorite example is the D.C.'s school system, where $12k to $15k is spent per student. Private schools spend half that amount with supurb results. The conversation went next to why are there wars. CTS had to explained to her about the dictators and extremists that torture and massacre their population. The girl eventually left more humble than she first arrived, but not yet convinced to support the war.
BELOW: My guy was a lot more sophisticated than CTS's young girl. But he was equally wrong. He had all the normal talking points down: Everyone supports the troops but not the mission; Israel is the root of all the problems in Arab lands (Jezz, Mel Gibson sure gave legs to this argument); Iraq had no WMDs and no connection with terrorism; Israel is on Palestinian land; we should try to find out what troubles so the Muslims, blah, blah, blah. Thanks to a bunch of FRee Republic treads and blogs, especially Military Families Voice of Victory that refute these stupid arguments, he got both barrels from me. He also got a smile on his face when at the appropriate time in the discussion, when talking about how the terrorist commit murder bombings (suicide bombings in MSM talk), I told him that they don't get 72 virgins when they die, they get one 72 year old virgin. He also let unconvinced of our position, but at least he finally heard some facts other than what he has heard from the biased MSM.
Olney, what a great place to FReep.
REMEMBER
Next Saturday, same place, Georgia Avenue, MD Rte. 97 and MD Rte. 108 in Olney, MD
Same time, 3 PM to 4:30 PM
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
The event will be opposite Cindy Sheehan's trip to D.C. Last year's rally was a success for such short notice. Now you have advance notice. The troops need to see that we support them. They are getting tired of the driveby media throwing mud on everything they do.
Also, we need good crowds at Olney the next several weeks to help cover both corners. If you can make it, we would appreciate your presence. It might be a little dull without the moonbats there, but all the waves and honking are invigorating.
RE: Olney FReep -
If you live in northern VA and want a short cut to Olney, Check out Post No. 39. It's an easy 20 minute drive from the American Legion Bridge.
A special Thanks to BufordP for enhancing the original plain type directions.
Also, in last week's Olney thread, Sandrat had an crude mental image for the (BELOW LEFT) sign. Something about a dog relieving its self on the sign. With a little digging, StarCMC found the old pic (BELOW RIGHT). I found it so hilarious, that I had to publish them this week.
Some Monday afternoon easy reading after a long weekend.
LOL at the pug pic!
Thanks for the great AAR! Glad y'all were able to educate some of the sheeple.
I love pugs!
bttt
Keep up the good work. I'm grateful to you for standing up to the treasonous baggage our nation's media elevates to hero status.
[Mr] T
Even more excellence than usual!! Looks like you made them cut and run!!!
Without the moonbats out there, there is no one to make fun of. [Mrs] T has fewer people to take pictures of. She was holding a sign this week instead of taking pics of the moonbats.
But knowing that ALL the honks & waves were for us is really rewarding.
