Fox News: Foley Case Destroying Repub Chances
Fox News | 11/5/06

Posted on 10/05/2006 10:22:48 AM PDT by pabianice

Pending Hastert's news conference, Fox is reporting that internal Repub polls indicate that the Foley matter is destroying any chance of the Repubs keeping the House, "and maybe the Senate as well." Breaking as we await the Hastert news congerence. Fox reports that the entire country is riveted by this matter and it has "blown away" all other issues for the upcoming mid-terms.

I have a hard time believing this manufactured scandal is having this effect, but Fox seems to be shooting straight on this. Perhaps the dealy in the Hastert new conference is due to furious fighting over whether he needs to resign as speaker today. With no other candidate standing-by, Fox notes that Congress would be required to re-convene to elect a new speaker, keeping this mess in the lime light right up to election day. This ambush was apparently very well planned.

Just what we need, more investigators and, more special prosecutor's.
Cut the money flow to this house of cards and, the tax payer will be better served.

Seems to me we will have to amend the constitution. It is a good constitution for, we the people, but somehow it doesn't do anything for we the congress.
For many yrs. both Democrat and, Republican congress critters act as though they are not governed by this constitution, they are somehow above the laws that governs its citizens.

Could be, but this time I have a hunch that Rove really does have an October surprise. I've seen a few clues that there is a surprise in the works.

I hope so and I hope it will knock the smirking dims/MSM on their collective @$$*$.

CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**

According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.

According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats. This source, an ally of Edmund, also adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund.

The news come on the heels that former FBI Chief Louis Freeh has been named to investigate the mess.

Practicality is not always the reigning sentiment. I know in my state we had the most conservative voting Senator ever. Seriously, he was a straight down the line conservative voter 100%. But he got a divorce and married an aide. Conservatives espoused their disapproval and sat at home on election day. They felt good about themselves.

That's the kind of thing I'm talking about. The Republican Party is not a church. It's not a "shining city on a hill." I expect my reps to vote lower taxes, smaller government, and keep their hands out of the till. I'm not interested in monitoring their sex lives that occur within the parameters of the law.

At least this story didn't come out a week before the election like the W DWI story.

You can bet your bottom dollar that those stories are still in the planning stages by the Dems/MSM and will come out in due time.

If laws were broken by dems in getting these instant messages things could look even worse for them. Being October, their intentions to change the result of the election could be the 2006 Watergate

Seems to me that reporting this is a sure way to fire up the base.

Seems to be working here at least. ;-)

Bush was in Reno this week. Only raised $325,000 for House candidate.

Fox is only slightly right of center, and scandal is good for ratings. Hannity will stick up for the GOP on his show, but the regular Fox lineup will be there along with the rest of the MSM jackals.

"He signed it yesterday!"

I know now but didn't read about it till just now. Whew! What a relief. Now all we need is another 1400 miles of fence and we'll be good to go. Not holding my breath though.

Who knows, maybe they want to give the Dims a false sense of security.

I just saw Fox News with Brit Hume and Bill Krystal was on. He checked the latest polls and it has not effected the races in other states
