Doesn't have the ring authenticity real "lawyer threat" letters usually have ~ full of fundamental spelling errors and statements that don't seem to link up with the reality of the situation.

Sounds like a "prank" in and of itself.

Well this thing has lots of peripheral people involved up to and including Stretch Pelosi and her bunch...so it wouldnt surprise me if it was fake...but Wild Bill cant assume that yet

Two things to do that are real easy. First, go to USPS.COM and do a search for the full 9 digit ZIP Code for the return address on the envelope or the letterhead.

Second, go to Whitepages.com to see if you can come up with the same phone number as in the letterhead.

If address Zip Codes and phone numbers don't match up, the odds are very good it's fake. Most pranksters fail to be all that careful with these items.

Then, call the number in the letterhead and see how they answer the phone, particularly if its after hours!!!

Lawyers go home or get drunk or visit the jailhouse scouring up business late in the day, so it shouldn't be possible to reach him late. Plus, it's motions day about everywhere, so there shouldn't even be a lawyer in the office.

If a kid answers the phone, you know there's some real problems with the letter.

I used that simple technique many times to trip up fraudulent claims.

They're just trying to scare him. Tell those shysters to go chase themselves.

And turn them in to the Oklahoma Bar.

Just had a thought. If there's a 'hacker', as I've read involved in this ordeal, I would NOT reply to that email. Would use the phone and fax.....fwiw

..already emailed Wild Bill suggesting just that...this is getting better than I had imagined... but lets keep our eye on the ball here....it seems as if we..bloggers and such...are the only ones who are effectively trying to fight back on this thing....and we have to do that wherever possible and see what turns up...like Wild Bill did....there is more to this little Edmund punk than meets the eye so I think we ALL have to kiss ass in whatever small way we can to get to the bottom of this manure pile

The Kobe Bryant accuser's name was widely posted on the Internet and it was the media's decision NOT to use her name on-air. It was a "moral" decision on their part to not use the victim's name. There is no law stating that they had to do it. So, my advice to that site would be to keep everything the way it is.

There was, of course, no "victim" in the Kobe case whose name wasn't published ~

Mark Levin is an excellent suggestion and how about Ann Coulter.

They could have a lot of pro bono fun with this.

Now wait a minute! The standard has already been set that it's OK for queer congressmen to go after male pages. It is a perfectly acceptable practice.

Or, is it OK only for Democrat queers?

Wild Bill can simply write a letter back to the bullyish Lawyer "demanding he pull the story" and ask, on what grounds. And publish what the "grounds" are.

I do wish to tell Wild Bill one thing: The threats against himself and his family members -- are what happens when one enters the "arena". It's SOP from the opposition.

What he needs to do is go to his local police and file a report. Make sure there is a report.

Anyone with "legal" letterhead can send a threatening, or alarming, letter. In fact, on the newer desktop publishing programs, you can create your own!

Wild Bill can also contact LandMark Legal, FIRE (which is primarily about protecting free speech on college campuses). From these points, Wild Bill can possibly get comfort, and/or direction. IMHO. Of course.

Michael Bates used to be online here. Maybe he's going by another handle. He too was threatened similarly.

It's scary and alarming the first time these "drive-by" threats begin happening. Totally understandable.

When Rush started talking about this bozo, the former page, hiring a lawyer, he was asking why, yesterday. Then Rush made some comments like he knew that the prank defense might be coming.

Rush apparently got a phone call from Drudge. I would bet $5 that this lawyer or his receptionist were Drudge's source re the prank.

BTW, "Katsoros" is a surname that derives from a town in Greece. Naming your kid "Chris" is also a sign that the family is Greek-American, and probably lives in the San Fran suburbs and has a couple of olive trees in the backyard.

All of which means this old gal and her kid are probably part of one of the "bedrock" groups in the Bay Area Democratic Party machinery ~ one of the reasons you find so terribly many Italian-Americans out there affiliated with the Republicans in fact ~ the Greeks got there first and kept them out of the Democratic party.

Being an hereditary Republican I can fully understand how partisan this Katsoros gang and their friends probably are. They'll have to be dragged off to prison before it ever occurs to them that commiting a crime against a Republican member of Congress just because he's a Republican and gay is considered pretty vicious.

Their friend Nancy knows this ~ but she's going to let these people hang.

MAJOR BINGO. They don't do it this way. Jokesters, did I mean Prankster, DO do it this way. Friends of the Dem War Room DO it this way. And also drive-by phone calls, mysterious newspapers with certain articles circled in red (usually involving someone getting hurt or murdered). Pranksters may also wish to sit in front of your house in their car armed with "satellite and ears" for hours, glaring at your house. You might continually find nails, brand new ones, in your tires. So, after a time, Wild Bill may just learn to ask someone else to pick up his mail and toss the obvious sicko ones into a sack for later deposit with the police report, or learn to use a "call screening" device.

She may not be able to now that Robin Katsoros has been tied to her office and her son was made a page by Pelosi...if she or her son put any of the other pages up to punking Foley, then Pelosi will suffer from the blowback
