Hi all,
My brother Lucas, (Age 25) had a seizure today while just sitting and talking with my mom and grandmother. He's never had a case of seizures before, his blood sugar was normal, the bloodwork test came out normal, the cat scan showed nothing wrong with his brain. tomorrow he goes in for an EEG. None of this makes sense.
He has been under a lot of preasure lately with studying at school and his job. and he has complained about feeling a bit light headed lately and had a couple of fainting spells last week.
I'm asking for prayer. Because he had a seizure out of the blue today, the government won't allow him to operate a vehicle for the next 6 months, and he still has work and school to attend.
I got to talk to him today, and he says he rememebrs sitting in the room, and then feeling light headed, then he doesn't rememebr anything. Then he says he came to and had an oxygen mask on, and remembers seeing familiar faces in the room, then he blacks out again, then he says he remembers waking up in the ambulance, and I think he remembers everythign that happened after that.
My mom and grandmother were freaked out adn called 9-1-1 and followed their instructions while the fire dept. and ambulance arrived. All my family is Christian, and my mom said she did some tall praying when he went stiff adn started shaking and drooling everywhere.
Please pray that God heal him and this type of thing never happens again. There's no history of this sort of thing in our family, and this has taken everyone by surprise. Please PRay Gods protection on my family through this time as well.
It makes no sense to me, but all I know to do in both good times and bad is to trust in God.
If you guys could pray, and get anyone else or church or community group or family or anyone else to pray, pelase get them to pray. The more the better! I know prayer works. God has healed me many tiems as well. Praise God!

Prayers for bro. Sounds like he needs time away from his pressures. Too often we don't realize that the best thing for people in this murderously-stressful society is time off. As a family, you should find a way to give him that.
Prayers extended for your brother. Prayers also that God Guide your brother's Doctors that they speedily find the cause and remedy for your brother's illness.

Years ago, a friend suddenly began going into anaphylactic shock from time to time. That it happened once was frightening, and had it never happened again, I suspect he would have always lived with the fear of it happening again and the fear that he had a major, deadly disease going undiagnosed.
As it happened a number of times, the doctors were able to gather more symptoms, precursors, etc.
As frightening as this is, if another episode does occur, try to remind yourselves that the additional information gained is only going to help. Take care.
That may suffice.

My prayers are with you and your brother. I actually know A LOT about this issue having suffered a seizure disorder in my youth. Feel free to send me a private message with details if you want any further input. First and foremost, make sure that he is having a "sleep deprived" EEG since the readings are not 100 percent accurate if the patient is awake at the time of the procedure. What you need to do is keep your brother awake for at least 24 hours before the test, that way he'll likely fall asleep or at least have his "guard" down during the test. I assume this was a Grand Mal Seizure and not a Petit Mal or Absence Seizure, but if it was the latter, don't be shocked if it was an Anxiety Attack misdiagnosed as a Petit Mal Seizure.
If it was a Grand Mal Seizure, they will likely find something on EEG or MRI. If no irregularity is found, they will likely move him from the care of Neurologist into the care of Psychiatrist or Psychologist. Grand Mal Seizures in the absence of irregular brain wave patterns are almost universally dealt with as more of a "mental health" issue than a physical issue. While generally accurate in terms of diagnosis, this is not at all fair to the rare person who is suffering seizures due to an undiscovered legitimate physical problem.
What you will unfortunately learn in the days to come is that Doctors know FAR less about the Brain than the average person would think. When the answer is not very obvious from the usual tests, they are easily stumped where the brain is concerned and they often do not know where to look next, which is why they frequently pass a patient off to the Mental Health field. I for example, suffered hideous Grand Mal Seizures and had what they called "highly erratic" EEG readings for nearly 3 years, yet they stated that I did not have traditional Epilepsy. And they searched for an explanation for nearly 3 years and found none, but out of the blue one day, my EEG was normal. This was almost 30 years ago and every EEG I have had since has been 100% normal, yet for 3 years from the age of 11-13, I had terrible, powerful seizures. They still don't understand why and apparently never will.
prayers to you and your family... a few years ago my friend had an anxiety/panic attack and the symptoms sound a bit similar to what your brother experienced. she was also under a lot of stress... she lived for months under even more stress afraid of another attack but she has since seeked counseling and is no longer afraid and very independent...

It wasn't a seizure, but I had my first anxiety attack in college, sitting in a chair studying. Out of the blue I got light headed, heart started pounding and it was the strangest feeling I'd ever experienced. It scared the hell out of me.
