JERUSALEM - Archaeologists and clergymen in the Holy Land derided claims in a new documentary produced by the Oscar-winning director James Cameron that contradict major Christian tenets. "The Lost Tomb of Christ," which the Discovery Channel will run on March 4, argues that 10 ancient ossuaries — small caskets used to store bones — discovered in a suburb of Jerusalem in 1980 may have contained the bones of Jesus and his family, according to a press release issued by the Discovery Channel.

“The idea fails to hold up by archaeological standards but makes for profitable television. They just want to get money for it.”

I think this is the modern equivalent of that "Chariots of the Gods" baloney going on in the 1980's.

One of the caskets even bears the title, "Judah, son of Jesus," hinting that Jesus may have had a son

lol I love the logical fallacies in that one

Yeah...so where's the sign that says, "Jesus slept here?"

They're hiding something, I tell you!

19 posts don't bother me at all. This is the first one I have seen. I don't think I would have thought of signing on and thinking, "let me see if there are posts on Jesus." Understand?

Ya see, this is where they reveal their flawed thinking.

When I was in Mexico, right next to Jesus' grave was the grave of his son, Manuel.

"Did they find an autographed 8 x 10 glossy?"

Sure did. It read, "With love, J"

Actually, I did do a search using the words lost, tomb, christ, hidden, jesus, documentary, and discovery channel. All of them turned up nothing. I guess I still don't get this duplication thing. Sorry for any inconvenience guys, but I thought the additional info and sources in my explanation would add to the discussion.

I sit here and roll my eyes at these idiots as many of you do. Had this been something about Mo-Ham-Head there would be different reactions from his followers.

Ahh yes, I recall the "Judas Gospel" being a hit last lent. And wasn't that story a few weeks after the Jesus walked on ice-not-water story?

In genreral, Hollywood is so predictible these days. I knew a story like this was gonna come out this lent, just like I knew that the Dixie Chicks were gonna get some Grammys, and Al Gore his Oscars this year (Despite terrible sales for either of them!).

Sounds like Cameron is jonesing for a trophy, since an idiot like algore just got one for a bull$h1t mockumentary. And that slimeball jolie is joining the council on foreign relations. What qualifies any of these pinko blowhards? Forget al quaeda, I'd worry about whorelywierds influence over the feeble-minded of this country.

How arrogant. How do you know what to search for, if you don't know that an item exists? Please do your policing elsewhere.

I just realized that James Cameron will come on and say the proof was faxed to him from a Kinko's in Texas.

I think we need to see the Photoshoppers produce a few pics of the headstone, you know, modern fonts, and maybe the dates:
Born 4 B.C.
Died 29 A.D.

I do remember all that. They still ruminate and ponder these things on the radio show Coast to Coast...a howler of a show. Thank you.

I have heard this lame-a$$ excuse sooo many times - If you're looking at a title of a story you've got all the search criteria you'll ever need right in front of you -- oh wait -- you didn't even post the article - how telling.
