Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

I looked at a few pages of your posts and it makes me wonder why you would not prefer the Darwin site.

Your only interest is in anti Christian crusading, and while you can indulge that on a few threads here, it is such a small part of FR that it would make sense that this is not be your primary forum.

It is great to have a passion but like you say on your home page it is also good to share ideas with like minded people.

The link you send us to on your home page is where you find your like minded people, FR seems to be where you find your arguments.

I posted my first anti-opus/Supo on this thread.

And it was excellent. I particularly liked your box-rocks-rice metaphor.

I am relying heavily on the fact that no candidate since Wilson has won the Presidency while losing his home state.

If you want to get into historic trends, it's even more unlikely that Hillary will be elected.

The last Democrat nonincumbent who had not previously been POTUS and was the "clear favorite" a year out from the nomination to be nominated and actually go onto win the general election was Andrew Jackson in 1828.

As I see it, Rudy will never beat Hillary in NY,

As proven by the fact that Rudy refused to challenge her for her senate seat last fall.

To: Just sayin; Tennessee Nana
An Unbornchild cannot be seperate while residing within another’s body

This has been addressed very well by Tennessee Nana, but I would just add that by separate I mean that the baby is distinct from the mother, i.e., another entire human being. He is not merely a part of the mother, like an appendix. The baby is not separate only in the sense that he resides inside his mother and is dependent upon her for life support for a period of time.

Rights for all exist even in this situation. They have to, or we all have to admit that rights are not equal to all.

I am unwilling to take that position. My position is that we are all equal where rights are concerned and all must be respected and observed. Not one or the other.

Couldn't agree with you more. That's what we've been saying all along.

Choice to hold a slave was removed but choice to get the labor done was not. See what I am sayin?

Yes. In the case of slavery, when choice was removed slaves were freed from bondage. That's a good thing in my book.

In the case of abortion killing when "choice is removed" that will be a good thing, too. Children will not be butchered and will live. They will not have their inalienable right to live abrogated by others who commit the barbaric evil simply because they are bigger, and can, and some of whom make a lot of money doing it.

Let me ask you this, Why were we all created as individuals, with independant minds, if we we’re not tasked with making our own choices in our own lives?

No one disagrees that individuals have the ability to, and do make choices all the time. Even murderers are able to make choices. It is just plainly evident that some choices are evil. We're not talking here about whether one prefers chocolate over vanilla ice cream. When wrong choices are of the kind that destroy the lives and liberty of others they should not be tolerated. The bottom line is that there is simply no such thing as an inalienable right to choose to commit the kinds of evils that we have been talking about.

Cordially,

The crystal ball is cloudy today. You are wrong, about my having an "only interest," that an interest of mine is "anti Christian crusading," and about what would make sense for me. You're batting .000.

It appears you are making a common error -- that my pointing out that A's idea that A's interpretation of A's religion should govern how science works is an attack on Christianity or on religion in general. It's not.

It is great to have a passion but like you say on your home page it is also good to share ideas with like minded people.

Did you see the part of my home page that notes that I've been a member here since 1997? That's enough time to have developed a feel for the place. There was a time when I did find many like-minded people here. The conversations, and, yes, debates were fascinating. Unfortunately, many of the people involved have been banned. Some have left in disgust.

I fear that instead of providing a thought-provoking venue for the exchange of ideas that would make us all more informed and better able to express our opinions, the site is now drifting into a gray, group-think fog, where any unauthorized thought is suspicious at best and heresy at worst.

Tell me I'm wrong. Please.

Why challenge for a senate seat when you’re already planning on running for PResident?

To: All; Jim Robinson; Gelato; Waywardson; Spiff; dirtboy; Delphinium; Knitting A Conundrum; Taxman; ...

I’ve said for years that FR is the best microcosm of the GOP universe in existence. That’s one of the main reasons I’ve loved this place so much as a place for personal growth, sharpening of thinking, writing and debating skills, and an increase in personal understanding of where we are, in a larger sense, politically.

So, while I’ve been, at times, frustrated by the presence here of certain folks - liberals, hacks, trolls, phonies, et al, I’ve also recognized JR’s wisdom in, as he phrases it, “keeping a light hand on the rudder.”

Because, hey, let’s face it, they’re representative of the liberals, hacks, trolls and phonies that exist in large numbers in the Republican Party all across the fruited plain.

But, now is the time for the political fight of our lives. It looms in front of us as Christians, as conservatives, as small “r” republicans, and as Americans.

Jim recognizes that you can’t go into combat carrying a load of baggage. As an old sailor, knowing the need for speed in battle, he’s thrown the dead weight over the side of the ship, thank God.

Hence, my tagline. “The decks are cleared for battle - damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!”

People, it’s time to fight for what we believe in, like we’ve never fought before.

It’s time to insist that only the core principles that make this country a free republic will prevail.

We are charged with doing a great number of very practical things, in a relatively short time; some of them very difficult and likely to cost us personally, to make sure those critically important principles carry the day.

Our children and grandchildren, our posterity, have an equal right to the same blessings of liberty that we have enjoyed because of the sacrifices of our forebears.

It’s our job to make sure they get it. This is our generation, and God help us if we are the weak link in the glorious chain that links us with the shining city on a hill.

“Unfortunately, many of the people involved have been banned.”

I’m all for scientific discussion. However your analysis above is not science and is completely incorrect. The truth is they have banned themselves by slamming conservative candidates and icons like RWR, and a tactic to support liberal Giuliani. It’s a conservative site. It’s not rocket science.

“Some have left in disgust.”

Actually they left in shock when they realized that their troll friends got to close to the light. Be careful that bug zapper still has juice.

Now lurking elsewhere after nearly ten years (see sign-up date above).

There was a time when I proudly told people I was a FReeper and invited like-minded individuals to this site.

That time is now past.

I am a deeply conservative individual who thinks for himself and arrives at his own conclusions, no matter how double-plus bad they might be. Alas, I find I do not fit the present FR mold.

I have always believed that politics is the art of the possible. I'll get what I can today and hope for more tomorrow.

Around here, that is the functional equivalent of heresy. The All-Or-Nothing mentality may be effective when designing battleships, but it's self-defeating when attempting to persuade the American people.

I enjoy conversations with people who also think for themselves.

Around here, people like that are rapidly becoming extinct, banned for thought-crime.

We're at war with Oceania. We have always been at war with Oceania.

Yes. We're at war with Eurasia. We've always been at war with Eurasia.

It has become more than obvious that independent thought is no longer welcomed at FR. So be it.

FReepers wondering what I’m getting at should study the work of George Orwell.

Alas for FR.

Your profie page sure looks like an Opus to me. Are you saying that Jim Robinson is "Big Brother" and that he's banning people for "thoughtcrime?" So, are you in this thread to commit suicide by cop because no one paid any attention to your Opus until now?

Had Rudy run against Hillary last year and won, she would have been out of politics forever. That would have strengthened ANY Republican presidential candidate in 2008.

The fact remains that Rudy KNOWS he cannot beat her, he knew it in 2000 when he used cancer as an excuse not to run, he knew it last year when he refused to run and he knows it today. Yet the Rudy Rooters cannot seem to get beyond their fantasy that A.) Hillary has already won the ‘Rat nomination and B.) only Rudy can beat her.
